Suspiria is a very charming horror movie with its outlandish sets and color coding. Although it lacks an abundance of body horror/gore like some movies, there are a couple scenes where the depiction of blood is spectacular. In my opinion they got the color just right in this movie! The only negative thing to speak on about this movie is the story line was a bit hard for me to follow. On top of a confusing plot, the movie can be rather slow and it's a long watch. Definitely worth a watch once, but I wouldn't rewatch this movie unless showing it to anybody who hasn't seen it yet.

Reblogging my own post because GOBLIN. THE GOBLIN. IS IN BALTIMORE. TOnight. And I'm gonna see them and wear my own dumb shirt and it's gonna be the strangest, most rad time, and everyone? go ahead. be jealous.
"Suzy, do you know anything about…witches?"
Suspiria, a masterpiece by Dario Argento. This trippy, amazingly surreal horror film is the subject of my newest tshirt design for Pizza Party Printing's upcoming movie night at the Ottobar. They'll be showing not only Suspiria, but the 1989 horror, The Church (paired with a fucking metal shirt by Jimmy Giegerich), so if you’re in Baltimore at the end of the month, be there! Immerse yourself in blood and beer (and the music of the one, the only Goblin). It’s gonna be spooky.
The Suspiria shirt is up for sale now at Pizza Party! Pick one up while you can!

New transcription - from Luca Guadagnino's Suspiria.
visual representation of what happened to me this morning
o heya so i uhh created a somewhat iffy transcription of the soundtrack version of Death Valzer (that song that plays during practice when Suzy faints)
i say "somewhat iffy" because although it is 1000% accurate to the note, there are some parts where the hands/fingers awkwardly overlap (not to mention the right hand eternally playing octaves). i'm pretty sure the actual recording used two separate takes for what i have transcribed here as the left and right hand parts, which is why these issues exist :/
i suggest using this score as a guideline but ultimately playing what feels right/comfortable. otherwise, play it with a friend on a separate piano
also i'll be working on a transcription of the in-film version which is slightly different. but anyway
THE THREE MOTHERS: Mater Lachrymarum, Our Lady of Tears.
“The eldest of the three is named Mater Lachrymarum, Our Lady of Tears. She it is that night and day raves and moans, calling for vanished faces. […] She it was that stood in Bethlehem on the night when Herod’s sword swept its nurseries of Innocents, and the little feet were stiffened forever, which, heard at times as they tottered along floors overhead, woke pulses of love in household hearts that were not unmarked in heaven. Her eyes are sweet and subtle, wild and sleepy, by turns; oftentimes rising to the clouds, oftentimes challenging the heavens. She wears a diadem round her head.” – Thomas de Quincey, Suspiria de Profundis (x)
THE THREE MOTHERS: Mater Suspiriorum, Our Lady of Sighs.
“The second sister is called Mater Suspiriorum, Our Lady of Sighs. She never scales the clouds, nor walks abroad upon the winds. She wears no diadem. And her eyes, if they were ever seen, would be neither sweet nor subtle; no man could read their story; they would be found filled with perishing dreams, and with wrecks of forgotten delirium.” – Thomas de Quincey, Suspiria de Profundis (x)
THE THREE MOTHERS: Mater Tenebrarum, Our Lady of Darkness.
“But the third sister, who is also the youngest! Hush! whisper whilst we talk of her! Her kingdom is not large, or else no flesh should live; but within that kingdom all power is hers. Her head, turreted like that of Cybèle, rises almost beyond the reach of sight. She droops not; and her eyes rising so high might be hidden by distance. But, being what they are, they cannot be hidden; through the treble veil of crape which she wears, the fierce light of a blazing misery, that rests not for matins or for vespers, for noon of day or noon of night, for ebbing or for flowing tide, may be read from the very ground. She is the defier of God. […] And her name is Mater Tenebrarum, Our Lady of Darkness.” – Thomas de Quincey, Suspiria de Profundis (x)
Blunt
Tight shoes, broken frames
Lipstick stains, forgotten names
Candy colors, now just gray
Told myself I’d throw it away
Old photos, fading light
Did I love you? I’m not sure why
Diaries, pages torn
Bye-bye, friends no more
Burnt CDs, silver chain
Faded notes, forgotten name
Secret dreams, wishes small
I don’t think about them at all
Old photos, fading light
Did I love you? I’m not sure why
Diaries, pages torn
Bye-bye, friends no more
Tight clothes, woken blame
Did I love you? It’s hard to say.
