Sorry For The Long Post - Blog Posts

Oh yeah, my dad. Growing up my mom always said how he and I both had od little mannerisms. Of course I grew up on a farm in a rural place so nobody really took mental health too seriously.

"Therapists are for rich people," my parents always said. And yeah, we were not that.

Anyway, with my current attempts to get a diagnosis, I started to realise that the things my dad and I had in common (Hyperfixations, aversions to certain textures, mimicking nerotypicals.) What's funny is I recently also was taught that autistic people's special intrest can be "People" and that's like my dads second main special interest.

If I had to think of a VERY loose comparison, Kabru comes to mind, though my dad has a much less calculating way about him. He is also the classic autistic stereotype of insanely good at math, excelling in geometry. He also has a ton of other special interests, tractors, antique milk bottles, and also true crime/bio pics/documentaries on groups of different people(though I feel that ties in with his human fascination)

The funniest thing, though, is that me and my dad and I really couldn't be anymore different 🤣 we are the perfect example of "If you meet one autistic person, you have met ONE autistic person)

I'm seriously starting to suspect my mom is autistic and she just doesn't know it yet or is in deep, deep denial, considering the stigma and all the misconceptions/prejudice she has about mental health...

Anyone had a similar experience?

Buckle up because I'm about to ramble a tad

Watching Look Back was probably the best thing a streaming platform could've recommended to me, the way Fujimoto wrote the characters was so immensely human and the most I've related to characters in years in terms of art. Drawing out of felt necessity instead of genuine love is something I felt so intensely related to, not drawing for some time and then picking it back up again as well.

I've had times I haven't drawn for months then only to draw out of a felt need instead of my love for my work, I've had times I've drawn multiple pieces in a day because I wanted to and loved every moment of it. Both girls have been me at some point in my life, childhood and current adulthood.

The story was absolutely brilliant, in all ways I can think of, watching two young artists grow up and their paths that they took, the way they developed. I could not have asked for more, I don't think I've cried that much over characters I knew such a short time either, but they moved me. Those two girls got me so involved, made me feel so seen and then broke my heart in the best way possible.

Buckle Up Because I'm About To Ramble A Tad

I love this film and it's story with all my heart

My Extremely Unprofessional, Bodged-together Attempt At Enhancing A Rockapella: In Concert Poster From
My Extremely Unprofessional, Bodged-together Attempt At Enhancing A Rockapella: In Concert Poster From

My extremely unprofessional, bodged-together attempt at enhancing a Rockapella: In Concert poster from about 1998. After seeing it in the Folgers ‘Rockin’ Morning’ commercial, I wondered if a .jpg of this was available anywhere online, but my searches turned up nothing. Then last week, I happened upon it, on an archived GeoCities website from 2001... in glorious 218 by 300 pixels.

This first effort consisted of passing the image through some online AI image upscalers (one of which made the guys’ faces look mildly horrifying; results not included here for your benefit) - that’s why the top third of this picture is blurrier than the rest, which I’ll try to find a way around in my next attempt. I also replaced the shapes, lines and text using Illustrator (fonts are all from the Franklin family, so this was not too much hassle).

Just thought I’d share this as it seems to be quite a rare image online, so... enjoy! I can say with some certainty that this is the most high-resolution version of this poster on the internet, as of my writing this.

Source image also included, in case anybody with more expertise than me (read: almost anybody) wants to try their hand at it. Please click for full-size image (best viewed on a computer)!

Hello everybody I am here to say sorry for not posting a lot but I have been working on my au of security breach, you know the fanf game that has funny glitches and a not so good story

I do have some of the design done that is the daycare attendance, my favorite characters

I will make a post about it soon

Here's more info on the au

This au is called "Working Together"

You will learn more about the characters and who they are

This is important to keep in mind because you do make decisions for them and when we get to security breach you will only get options on what to do next but you are playing as Gregory

You need to keep that in mind

This all I will say for now and sorry again for not posting I just was planing on how the au will go

I hope you have a good day or night

Bye

Question to everyone but especially US Americans: do you guys have a problem with love?

watching TV shows it seems like two people are essentially a couple. they're kissing, they're fucking, they care about each other, they go on dates, etc. But they never say "I love you", they never officialize a relationship, they never put a ring on their fingers - unless they're literally getting married, which kinda seems to come out of nowhere to me, like they're missing important steps in the relationship? First you establish how you feel ("I love you"), then you start Officially Dating (being each other's boyfriend/girlfriend/partner), have a ring on their fingers, *then* it's appropriate to ask if they wanna marry you (and subsequently get married).

But it seems like it's quite normal to be acting like they're together for months or years, never defining anything with words, and it's CLEAR that they both love each other. and then suddenly one day they're like "i can't imagine my life without you (I've noticed they often don't even say "I love you" at this fucking point???? but sometimes they do), will you marry me?" and finally offering a fucking ring.

like. is it just a dumb TV show thing? or is it normal irl as well, to simply not have a logical progression, and just assume the other person loves you back without ever having them say that to you or you to them, in order to ask them to marry you? idk

in my country it's very normal to be like "casually dating" someone (exclusively! bc it's different if you're both just "seeing people") like these TV shows show, for a while (usually 1-3 months, seldom more than 6 bc that would be considered leading someone on), until you both decide you have strong feelings for each other and want to officialize a relationship. at which point it's expected you'll both start wearing rings (simple bands, often silver, on the right hand) to show your commitment. at this point, you have already said I Love You to each other - if you spend 6 months with someone and those words haven't been said yet, either you're both just hanging out with no intention of getting in a relationship ever, or someone's being led on.

like I'm just confused. I've seen this happen in a bunch of different shows. the participants are all grown adults, so it's not like they're teenagers fumbling their first love (hey, it happens to the best of us). it's shown like the normal thing. what the fuck sometimes they're even cohabiting, how do you live with someone you kiss and fuck and love without telling them you love them??? mindblowing

please tell me it's just a TV show thing. thank you

I actually have 2 stories about this at the same place!!! The first one happened to my roommate, who I worked at the same place with.

We worked at a charity retail store and we were both placed in the clothing department. Which meant all we did was go through giant bins of donated clothes and hung up what could be sold. Really really simple. Not a single customer ever saw us as we worked in the back.

My roommate had a sprained ankle. Also note: we lived down the street and down a hill from the store. We didn't have cars. We walked to and from work from 7 am to 3 pm. My roommate was using a stool to sit on and hang clothes. She got dirty looks from coworkers the entire time and every single time she left to use the restroom or take her breaks or whatever, they'd HIDE her stool!

The second story actually happened to me. I started working there shortly after that so I knew how they felt about sitting at work. But I did not care. We walked to and from work every day and some days we had to make grocery trips, which consisted of us bringing our own bags and filling them with groceries, paying, and lugging the 10 large bags home between the 2 of us. We did that in snow and rain. We didn't have a choice. So I REALLY did not care that my coworkers didn't like that I felt like sitting. I didn't sit my entire shift. I only sat about an hour or two before my shift ended so I could give my feet a break before I had to walk home or get groceries etc. But the LOOKS I got!!! My god!!! They kept taking my stool too whenever I walked away, but I'd just grab another one that wasn't being used.

I have one more story regarding sitting at work in a retail setting. This is a different job. I replaced an elderly woman at a crafts store as she had fallen ill and I think needed surgery. She was recovering for months but I kept hearing stories about her from coworkers. So when I heard she was finally coming back I was excited to meet this legendary woman. When she got back we were both assigned as the cashiers for our shift together and she sat behind the counter in a stool. You know what???? I didn't question it!!! I was fine with her sitting!! I wanted to sit! I wouldn't have cared if she was young and had no health issues and still chose to sit for her shift! She still did the work.

Now for the scary part, because whenever I think of this lady I always think of this moment. We had radios and earpieces at this job for quick and efficient communication. We had a line and we were both taking care of customers. All of a sudden I hear her say over the radio "I'm not feeling well. I think I'm going to pass out." It honestly took me 10 seconds to register what she even said. But as soon as it registered, I stopped what I was doing and looked over at her to see her falling out of her stool, eyes rolled back, falling backwards over herself. I had never experienced this before! Wth??? My body started moving and I started yelling frantically over the radio and a customer called the ambulance. Everything both felt like slow motion but also very fast. She's fine!!! She came to a few minutes later. She decided to retire after that and she stopped working.

Anyway, those are my stories about work and chairs.

“Its lazy for cashiers to sit down

And it’s weird to care. Work shouldn’t be an endurance test. Let me sit. We’re not doing a survivor challenge. You don’t think people can sit down and work at the same time? You’re gonna be real mad when you find out what an office is.”

Hey @cumsplunge (please Don't Make Me Say Your Name Again)! I Saw Your Tags And I Wanted To Note That,

Hey @cumsplunge (please don't make me say your name again)! I saw your tags and I wanted to note that, while most spiders have relatively poor eyesight, there are actually many spiders with very good eyesight! The most obvious example is ogre-faced spiders, which are named after the distinctive look their massive eyes give them. Just look at 'em!

Hey @cumsplunge (please Don't Make Me Say Your Name Again)! I Saw Your Tags And I Wanted To Note That,

These little guys are also known as net-casting spiders and, as you might guess from the name, catch prey by actually casting a net of their webbing!

Hey @cumsplunge (please Don't Make Me Say Your Name Again)! I Saw Your Tags And I Wanted To Note That,

As such, having huge eyes gives them the eyesight to properly see and aim their net. Other spiders such as wolf spiders also have good eyesight, but ogre-faced spiders are easily my favorite. If you want to learn more about ogre-spiders, check out this hilarious (and informative) video by Ze Frank on Youtube:
