I think I'm a bit late to the party but idk I haven't played Genshin Impact in a month
I wanted to draw Lumine wearing a matching suit as well but because I know nothing about fashion or design I gave up. I might try again if someone else is interested, or if someone can tell me what the inspiration for Ayaka's skin is so I can find some reference of men's fashion from the same culture/time period, or if I have sufficient motivation and can find one of the history of fashion books lying around the house and figure it out for myself-
Anyways details are hard but I did really like sketching these ^^
Ayaka x Lumine (AU)
Just a drawing of Ayaka and Lumine being in love and kissing that I drew last summer, except their designs are different because I drew this as part of an au idea I came up with. and also because I enjoy changing up character designs in my fanart sometimes for no real reason.
(Note: This has been in my drafts for over two months and I wish to set it free, hope you enjoy my ramblings)
(EDIT: If you're interested in this idea, please tell me! I'm busy dying to college homework right now but if people are interested I'll probably make more art for it, and maybe even write something when I have time)
The concept for the AU:
When Ayaka told Lumine that Thoma had been taken by the Tenryou commission, Lumine said she'd bring him back safe and Ayaka should avoid getting involved. But in this story, Ayaka doesn't. When the Shogun raises her blade to strike down the traveler, it is Ayaka who saves her.
After this, Ayaka travels with Lumine and Paimon to aid the rebellion. Ayaka is left without her duty to her clan, and uncertain if she'll have a future within it after the war has ended.
But as her world seems to crumble around her, Lumine is right by her side, helping her through it. Holding her hand. Making her laugh in spite of everything.
And at watatsumi island, Ayaka has a chance to live more freely. She's not holding the reputation of her clan upon her shoulders anymore, and many of the people there have never seen her as the Shirasagi Himegimi.
I also like the idea of Ayaka making friends with Kokomi, they've both had to make compromises in their life out of a sense of responsibility to the role they found themselves in and the people depending on them.

If I remember correctly, I first came up with the idea for the AU while drawing Ayaka with short hair just for fun. I don't know how it went from "I think Ayaka could look very cute with short hair" to "what if Ayaka got exiled from the Kamisato clan what clothes would she wear" but here we are???
Here's some sketches I did to get their designs down for the AU! I chose the upper right one for Ayaka's outfit, but I'm still figuring out some details for it so it'll probably change some more in the future. Or I might end up going for something closer to her original outfit, idk. Feel free to offer your thoughts!
I didn't really need to make any changes for Lumine to fit the story better or anything, but I decided I wanted to try out some alternate designs for her clothes anyways. I chose the bottom right dress design for the illustration at the top of this post.
I've talked a lot about my ideas for Ayaka already, so here's my thoughts for Lumine:
I think that if Lumine hasn't already fallen for Ayaka before the divergence from canon, she would while the two of them fight for the resistance. And then once she realizes she's has these feelings for Ayaka, it becomes a thing where she doesn't want to confess them while Ayaka has so much else going on in her life.

If someone were to ask you what it’s like serving under the esteemed Yashiro Commissioner himself, your answer would probably be that he is a difficult man.
You’re sure that the Kanjou Commissioner and Tenryou Commissioner would agree with you — both seem as though they have a rather pointy bone to pick with your lord, and knowing him, there is probably a wide variety of reasons with how often he muses about stepping on their toes. The Guuji of the Grand Narukami Shrine seems to think the same, referring to your master as ‘that Yashiro brat’ or ‘the Kamisato rascal’, whenever you’re sent to deliver missives or letters on his behalf. Although she’s never explicitly mentioned that she’s speaking about your master, it is quite obvious that the one she’s speaking about isn’t your lady Ayaka. Still, the most prominent of all his victims, however, would be poor Thoma — the savoury mizu manju your master had tried making really hadn’t sat well with his stomach, much to no one’s surprise.
For you, however, he’s difficult for a completely different reason.
“I know I’m considered to be quite the conventionally attractive looker,” the source of your current headache says, voice breathless yet still dripping slick with honeyed amusement that makes your irritation flare, “but this is just a little inappropriate, don’t you think, my dear?”
You make a lunge for him over his desk, but he manages to evade you far too skillfully for your liking. If someone were to walk in on the two of you right now, they would surely be stunned by the sight they’re greeted with: the ever composed Yashiro Commissioner with his clothes rumpled, face flushed and collar slipping down dangerously one shoulder, while his personal aide glares at him with an expression brimming over with ire.
“It wouldn’t have to be—” you say flatly, attempting a surprise grab for his sleeve that he dodges, silk fabric slipping between your fingers, “—if you would just sit still and let me take your temperature, milord. This is hardly how any self respecting adult should be acting, let alone the head of the Kamisato Clan.”

⋆ Genshin Impact ✩ Character Birthday Art 2021 ⋆
I had this really cool dream last night.
So Lumine's a college student, right? I dunno what she studies. And there's a serial killer going around campus. The first victim was Signora. Childe is a transfer student from another college - one much more advanced than Lumine's. So when he makes a presentation on a gravity distortion device he and a few friends (probably Arlecchino and Dottore) everyone is blown away.
Later, at a bar, Kuni teases Lumine about how bad she has it for Childe (she doesn't, but they're best friends). Childe creeps up behind Lumine and startles her. He buys her a drink and Kuni leaves, smirking. They talk for a while, and Childe invites Lumine to visit his college, saying she's too good for this place. She declines and goes home. The next day, Ayaka, a girl Lumine had a crush on, is dead.
Lumine decides to start looking into the murders. She seeks counsel from Childe, who just wants to make time with her. He does tell her that maybe Lumine is the target, seeing as she liked Ayaka and Signora was her least favorite teacher. Lumine considers this and heads to a cafe with Kuni. On her way, she spots someone fighting in an alley. Kuni runs in to break it up and chases a hooded figure away. The other person was Lumine's brother, Aether. There's a knife in his shoulder.
Lumine's on the verge of insanity at this point. Kuni's doing everything he can to help her, but to no use. All he can do is tell her how much he cares about her. The next morning, his dismembered hand is hanging on her door. Lumine can only think of one person at this point: Childe.
Lumine marches over to Childe's hotel and demands answers. He says he'll tell her, but not at the hotel. They head to a ferry and Lumine starts asking why. Childe denies having any part in the murders. But then, he starts speaking strangely, and presses a button on his phone. Water starts winding around the ship. It turns out that the gravity distortion device he showed in class was just a prototype. The real one was the boat.
"Signora asked too many questions."
"Ayaka stole your attention from me."
"Kuni got in the way."
Lumine couldn't believe it. She snatched the phone and pushed Childe over the side of the boat.
A year later, Lumine is in Snezhnaya visiting Tonia and Teucer. Tonia knows the whole story, but Teucer thinks his brother is just taking a long vacation.
To this day, Lumine can't bring herself to tell him.
