Realized I should probably make a standalone post for this and not just update my masterlist because most people will not see that soooooooooo Four months ago my friend and I made a hetagame and I forgot to post about it until now!!! It's called Apple Butter and it's a small little Ukraine-centric game where you work on an apple orchard and you also make apple treats like pies and parfaits and stuff and sell them! And then you go and talk to the fellow townsfolk and also your fellow orchard workers (who happen to be ghosts!)

It's not long and it's just a small cute lil game that the two of us made in 14 days and we'd both be really happy if you checked it out!

Finally updated this last after Apple Butter has been out for like four months haha whoopsies

It's not long! And it's cute! And we made it in two weeks! And you might like it idk! I'm proud of what we did in two weeks anyway.

I decided this should probably be my first hetagame-related post that I make right now since I know I have an (outdated) page full of information and links to my games BUT you can't find that on mobile and I'm too lazy to edit that right now SO I'll do my best to keep this list up to date This list is gonna contain both my solo projects and group projects I worked on.

My Published Hetagame Masterlist

#1 is Child's Garden This was a group project between myself, @unlimited-trash-spill @sanctuaryofstars and @noizy-bunny Game page description: Go on a little misadventure with a group of kids trying to save their beloved kindergarten from closing for good! Hijinks include launching traitors off into the sky, stealing a random bike to avoid responsibility, getting your parents arrested and more all the while trying to raise funds! Do you think you have what it takes to jump on this crazy bandwagon in hopes of making enough money to save the kindergarten? And their pudding! Never forget the pudding. The game has a warning for serious topics taken lightly, since all of the main characters are children, after all. There's also two mentioned ships which consist of two of the pairs of parents in the game, FrUK and AusHun.

#2 is Guidebooks (See the game page description for the full name I'm not typing all that lmao) This was another group project between the same people as above. Game page description: 17-year old Ludwig Beilschmidt has been invited on a camping trip by his friends Matthew, Ivan, and Kyle! He agrees, and soon enough finds himself at the campsite where the four boys intend to spend a week getting closer to nature and just having fun! The only problem is, this is Ludwig's first time in the woods. Ever. He's always been more the sort to stay home and review flash cards, rather than go outside and explore. On top of that, it turns out that Matthew isn't that great at keeping Ivan and Kyle in line. That sort of thing was usually his brother Alfred's job, who's been banned from coming with them due to Alfred-brand shenanigans. So it seems that this trip has already started out badly. Can they pull it together and end up having a fun time? Or will this camping trip end up going south? Find out in "My Friends Invited Me to go Camping, but My Only Experience Is Reading Guidebooks!" The only thing worthy of a "content warning" is that there's swearing so if you don't like that be aware ig The game contains no ships, but speaking of the game I made a dumb stupid trailer for it that's linked on the game page and I'd be very happy if you guys checked that out I worked really hard on it at the time.

Cook some delicious food!  Go shopping for more ingredients! Feed your ghost friends (at the graveyard)! Chat with your neighbors and coworkers! Help preparing for the town festival!

The only thing really worthy of a 'content warning' is one of the ghosts gives brief description of the situations leading to his death at one point, that involves fire. He doesn't go into detail, but it's there nonetheless. This game also has no ships in it.

Now we're getting to my solo games So technically speaking I have two currently published games but one of them is old and bad and I'm currently working on a reboot so please ignore that one thank you.

#4 is Freedom This one was a solo project that I decided to see if I could make in six days. And I did. So that's a thing. Game page description: Alfred is standing in a dark room. How did he get there? There's no way of telling. Where is he? There's no way of knowing. How long does he have to escape? Ten minutes. And it's your job to get him out.As far as warnings go, this game was made for halloween, so there's what you'd expect from a halloween game, mostly blood and cursing. Uhhhh yeahhhh that's it

Hello, I know Guidebooks came out like a really long time ago but I just wanted to say that it was really fun to experience it. I especially like the main cast you decided to go with since it mixes up things a bit. Also rip Ludwig I wouldn’t be surprised if started to grey by 20 because of Ivan’s and Kyle’s shenanigans.

It's so nice to hear that you enjoyed the game, I'm sure the others will share the sentiment when I say that it really means a lot to us to get messages like this, especially for a jam game that honestly we weren't originally gonna put that much effort into, and then it turned into this whole thing where we made all sorts of things we had never intended to even consider, annnd then it accidentally became a high-maintinence project ewe;

Also yes poor Luddie he's gonna go home and take a 12 hour nap and wake up with grey hair and lower back pain lol Kyle and Ivan are very difficult to handle

Also also don't worry about the game being comparatively old, it's fine! Always good to get feedback, after all! (Annnd it doesn't even feel like we made it that long ago, time just sorta blends together sometimes lol)

I don't really feel like opening any of my projects and going looking for a good screenshot to take right now sooooo here's an extremely rough diagram of a spaceship layout for a sci-fi game @unlimited-trash-spill and I are working on on and off the ship isn't gonna look exactly like this (or probably even that close tbh, for example realistically the bridge wouldn't actually connect to the boarding hall directly but I made it with a program with grid-based limitations so that's as close as I could put it without messing the rest of the diagram up) this is mostly just to give us an idea of what rooms we want near each other and what rooms we need :p

Another Fanart Upload For You Guys, I Hope You Like It. For Those Who Are Interested This Is Actually

Another fanart upload for you guys, I hope you like it. For those who are interested this is actually based off a Hetagame called 1965. It's a sort of historical hetalia inspired game with hints of George Orwells 1984, Alice: The Madness Returns, We Happy Few and Clockwork Orange. I wanted to portray elements of the game without giving away too much as it's a really good game. I got inspired to play it and do this drawing after watching @kyokyo866 and Lubo play it on their channel and I just fell in love with the game. I really hope for a sequel as I want to know more about its world and what happened.

I really suggest you guys check it out 😊

And for context, yes that is England. Its explained in the game as to why he looks like that.

Do we have to use royalty free music?

The three of us all have our own differing opinions of using copyrighted music in fangames and such, but there's no rule against it in our jam, so, no, not if you don't want to. The little list of copyright free music sources I put together in the FAQ was just in case someone wanted it.

Ah. The thing about that is, I'm not entirely sure myself. I'll need to run something past the other two cohosts first, and I'm not entirely sure when they'll both be up and awake and ready to talk jam stuff again. Sorry. ^^;

AAA Sorry to bug you again, one last jam question... How does judge feedback work? Are there numeric scores that people get in categories (categories like coding, design, ect given a score out of like 5 or 10 for each category based on how well they did?)? Do y'all give out score sheets/written critiques/ect for each game?

Ah don't worry about bugging me, you're fine!

With judge feedback, it's essentially no different from the kind of comment you'd get on a normal game page! It's simply us saying what we liked, what we didn't like, our opinions on the strengths and weaknesses of your project, etc. There's no scoring or anything like that. Every team (including teams comprised of a single person of course) will get individual feedback from each of us judges on their game. In the end, it's really just our thoughts and opinions, not any be all and end all judgement on what is good and what is bad, so don't worry too much about them, okay? ^^

Hey there, thanks for the question! What we want to do is record our initial playthroughs, but depending on what happens and what kind of time we have, we may not be able to do that. We're gonna try our best to be able to, though. ^^

I'm so excited for the upcoming jam!! Will y'all be doing annual jams from now on?

I'm glad you're excited! I'm pretty excited too, hopefully it'll end up being an enjoyable time for all involved! ^^

As far as hosting annual jams goes, that's really situational and depends on a lot of things that we don't know yet. For example, I've hosted before, but the other two haven't, and it may end up becoming too stressful or unenjoyable for one or both of them to where they wouldn't want to host again. It also depends on how many jam participants we end up getting, how well what we've planned goes over, whether or not the time frame ends up being a bad one, if someone else claims our ideal time frame before we can in the future, etc.

There's also some things that are rather case-by-case. Because we could plan to host again next year, let's say, but if someone's schedule suddenly becomes hectic, we'd either have to work around it, host without them, or cancel.

In the end we just really aren't sure, because in a way if you change anything at all, (which you probably want to, to try and find the most stable formula to create a fun, low stress experience for everyone,) each jam is sort of like hosting for the first time, but with just a bit more knowledge going in.

It could also depend on the general opinion of the jammers on how well we hosted. If our jam finishes and everyone feels we've done nothing but create a trainwreck, then chances are low of us hosting again, at least until we can get a solid idea of what we did wrong and try to figure out how to avoid it at all costs in the future.

So basically in the end all I can say is "we'll see when we get there." Personally, I'd love to host a jam every year if that were possible, but it may not be, we can't say for sure, yet.
