Food For Thought - Blog Posts

I think i cracked it, the reason everything produced in the times of the High Republic is soo good compared to modern Star Wars, tldr its because of pain.

See, in all the works that date during the High Republic (specifically during George's ownership of SW) there's this fearlessness to show pain and tragedy and death, and i know it sounds like "everything for the children these days is sanitized!" but think for a second if Revenge of the Sith would be something Disney would publish these days and that's your answer, but that's just a tangent meant to emphasize the difference between Og SW and new SW, because what Og SW had was strife, and you the viewer knew that, because every time you booted up KOTOR or played Phantom Menace you knew what was coming, you knew to expect the isle of happiness in which the characters lived to slowly sink beneath the waves of tragedy and you'll see it happen as the characters around the story just dug up their own fates, in very much George Lucas fashion, and THAT is what made the work and the small moments of levity to taste so much sweeter, because you see the characters who you've grown attached to suffer so un-justly that when you return to the good times you can't help but appreciate the good and mourn it's departure.

The reason new SW does not achieve this is because the characters are dealing with the aftermath of the destruction of the baddies, its the birth of the hope for the future, its when you look at the horizon at the END of the movie, yes new problems may arise but the big hurdle is done and Disney didn't cultivate the joy from the Alliance's victory as it should, because instead of giving us proper post-war optimism (as it fits the real life post WW2 countries counterparts and fantasy sci-fi proper) it stuck only with the brooding post-war trauma, and while yes, that is also a very realistic take it still lacked verily from the former and thus there is no reason why we should mourn a character's strife if that is all we've seen from them, its like watching paint dry, nothing particularly changes, just a new villain here and there, the new character discovers new powers, new info, but there is no resolution, no reward for their strife, and even if they were going for a bleak post-war future (which they didn't and it also doesn't fit SW's constant theme of hope for a better future) it still ends up looking incomplete for the mere reason that they don't want to shut the book in case they need to milk the cow some more.

My point with all this was not to bash new SW though, my point was to use it as a comparison to highlight how Og SW built itself on a foundation of hope, how it showed us the height before the fall, how it is possible to make Shakespeare in space and leave all of us with broken hearts and looking hopefully into the future.

Just thinking that the worst villains are the ones who believe that they are good, and so any actions they take are good- because they're being done for a good cause. Rhysand and his whole IC (but mostly Rhys) are shown as the "good guys" of the entire series apart from ACOTAR, and Rhys is always the one making the decisions for Feyre and his court. Idk, just some food for thought. This probably will make no sense to me in an hour.

Why does it seem like we never talk about the whole "I don't want to hurt someone emotionally" aspect of morality? Why is the topic fully centered around not want to cause physical harm to our fellow humans?

Okay yall, quick question… the “nine months in my womb making me suffer…” meme, I’ve seen a ton of people doing with Shadow and Sonic. And people have made alterations to the meme to fit their story sometimes, but Y’know what I haven’t seen? An alteration of the time of 9 months.

Sonic n Shadow are 3 feet tall, less than 80 pounds hedgehogs. Many animals have a different pregnancy period depending on their size, so I fully believe they would have a much shorter pregnancy period. Not only with this meme, but with almost everything I’ve seen where one of them naturally has a child, no one has taken that into account.

Maybe I’m looking too much into it, but I can’t be the only one who’s thought about this, right?

Do you think if Bill had actually killed Mabel he would have left her dead or remade her into his follower or henchmaniac or something bc he thinks she’s cool

okay so like I’m watching good omens again and I’m in the last episode and I had a thought- when Beezlebub and Gabriel are talking about the Great Plan, Aziraphale keeps asking a bunch of questions about it. And then when he asks for a second time (“Yes, but is it the ineffable plan?”), Crowley gives him this major look of shock. Pure shock.

It went over my head the first couple of times, but if you think about it, Crowley’s surprised Aziraphale wasn’t struck down or anything for questioning a literal angel of the Lord.

That’s what he fell for, asking too many questions, and here’s Aziraphale, questioning God in front of an angle of Heaven and a demon from Hell.

food for thought lol

Imagine watching a movie where a sudden twist happens—a car crash, an explosion, a shocking revelation. In that moment, you’re caught up in it. Your body reacts, maybe your heart races, your breath catches, and for that brief period, it feels like the most real thing in the world. You don’t stop and think, “Oh, this is just a movie,” because you’re fully immersed. But then, the scene changes, and as you keep watching, you naturally shift back into the awareness that it was always just a film playing out exactly as it was meant to, frame by frame. Nothing was actually out of control—it just seemed that way in the moment.

That’s what happened. The accident itself felt abrupt, unexpected, and for a moment, I was just there, experiencing it as it unfolded. There was no time to intellectualize or analyze—it just happened. But afterward, there was this deep, undeniable clarity that everything was exactly as it was meant to be. Not planned in a way that suggests someone sat down and mapped it out, but planned in the sense that everything unfolds spontaneously and perfectly, always. Even the initial shock, the seeming confusion, was part of that.

It’s like how waves crash in an ocean—each wave rises, crests, and falls back naturally, without any mistakes or missteps. It just does. And even if, for a moment, a wave might “forget” that it’s the ocean, that doesn’t change the fact that it never actually wasn’t the ocean. That’s what’s paradoxical about it: in the moment, you can feel like you’ve “forgotten” the underlying nature of everything, but once the moment passes, you see that you never actually forgot—because forgetting itself was just another part of the flow.

That’s why it’s impossible to ever really “fall out” of understanding. There’s only ever this, unfolding exactly as it does, and whether you seem to remember or forget makes no real difference.

Food for thought...

Take a moment to think. Think about any bad thoughts you have ever had.  If you are honest with yourself you know everyone has had them. Evil thoughts. It isn't because you are a bad person, it is just a normal part of everyone.  The reason that you don't act on those evil thoughts varies within each of us. For some it is religion. For others it is a moral compass. For others it is simply fear of the law.

The mind is a fragile thing. There are many things that affect it's reasoning.  A person that has been a decent member of society suddenly snaps. You see it on the news all the time.  Neighbors and friends reporting that they were shocked.  A family member that had suddenly changed from being "normal". It happens.

My reason for saying this is because the Supreme Court has taken away the fear of the law from the person that becomes President.  Think about it. The fragility of a person's mind. There are many, many things that can happen to a person's mind. No person should EVER be above the law. Period. No matter the person's political affiliation. Scotus got it wrong.

“No writing is wasted. Did you know that sourdough from San Francisco is leavened partly by a bacteria called lactobacillus sanfrancisensis? It is native to the soil there, and does not do well elsewhere. But any kitchen can become an ecosystem. If you bake a lot, your kitchen will become a happy home to wild yeasts, and all your bread will taste better. Even a failed loaf is not wasted. Likewise, cheese makers wash the dairy floor with whey. Tomato gardeners compost with rotten tomatoes. No writing is wasted: the words you can’t put in your book can wash the floor, live in the soil, lurk around in the air. They will make the next words better.”

Have you considered...

The first time Pidge and Lotor square off she calls him ‘Pretty Boy.’

Cue Lotor’s brain momentarily short-circuiting long enough for PIdge to land a sick left hook across his face.

Cue Lotor wanted to die as he see Pidge flash that smug, triumphant smile we all know and love.

Cue Lotor becoming instantly WHIPPED for the Green Paladin of Voltron.

, Rest in Frickin' Pieces Lotor…

Shifting is seen as a starting process

"oh I'm gonna shift tomorrow night when I do my method" yes you can do that but why not just use the fact that you are already shifting billions of times through a minute and just redirect where you want to go. The process of shifting never ends or starts no matter if you are aware of it, it automatic and constant. It something you have no control over but you do have control over where you go to and what you experience.

Be mindful of that pokies<3

people who hate on meena the elephant from the movie sing boil my blood

Tags
food for thought whatever it’s not that deep i’m just saying Meena sing she's not a fucking show-off you're a fucking asshole it actually makes me want to punch them in the face the whole point is that she is shy and nervous to sing in front of other people thus she never does and the one time in the movie that she ends up singing (before the end where she joins the show and sings) is the moment that everyone uses to say she's extra and annoying and dont even get me STARTED on the fact that it is so clearly discrimination at the bottom of this in so many ways because oh boy will i but back to the point the one time she sings is in the comfort of her own home with her family and specifically her biggest supporter: her grandpa WHOSE BIRTHDAY IT WAS. why bring that up? BECAUSE THE MAN LOVES HER AND APPRECIATES HER AND ACTUALLY ENJOYED HER LIL RIFF MOMENT unlike yall assholes. sorry this makes me so upset like im not kidding it has bothered me for years you're telling me the character who is likely supposed to represent a tall plus-size shy socially outcast person with a passion they hide from others (+is alluded to be poc if human) is being hated on by people on the internet for the EXACT REASON THAT SHE IS SHY IN THE MOVIE. i actually dont think those people have a brain im willing to bet most of them have not seen the movie JUST the clip or didnt pay attention to the movie because dont piss me off. shes not even being that “extra” shes being pretty quiet considering that you can barely hear her until the other people stop singing like yes once they stopped she got louder but she was in the groove and she loves her grandpa like clearly yall dont love your grandpas dont put your daddy issues on her ok it's not her fault you're insecure oop sorry that got too– nvm. anyway i just don't think it looks attention seeking...she's just singing. she likes to sing = she sang mind blown. crazy. no way. eureka! I don't hear anyone calling Mariah Carey extra at Christmas🤨
