I’m glad that Derek Chauvin was found guilty, and I hope it brings even the tiniest bit of peace to George Floyd’s family. But please resist the urge to write those lengthy “racism is over” posts and start patting yourselves on the back and talking about this being a unifying moment. Mr. Floyd isn’t a martyr, and true justice wasn’t served. Chauvin is being held accountable and that is not the same thing as justice.

You’re telling me that peaceful BLM protesters were treated with so much violence—they were beaten, tear gassed and arrested—and now the capitol building is getting stormed and there is no use of force to stop it?? They are literally inside the building now!
