It's actually took me days to recover from that thunderbolts's credit scenes and have courage to open any social flatforms at the moment because i know damn well there're gonna be a bunch of stupid bullshit takes over Sam right after holyshit

the thunderbolts* just casually calling sam "cap" as if they've been friends for so long and bucky loves it while john walker is so irritated
(slightly inspired by ava calling john "dime store captain america" and yelena saying he was only captain america "for like 2 seconds")
"cap wouldnt approve of this," ava says before knocking the wind out of the bad guy.
"i'm sure the captain will do whatever means necessary to save people in need," alexei says and nods to himself proudly.
"we're not saving people in need. we're torturing him for information," ava glares at him before landing another punch on the poor guy.
"what do you say we call the captain, hm?" alexei grins at bucky, nudging bucky's arm with elbow repeatedly in a teasing manner "i'm sure the winter soldier is missing the captain's voice by now."
"no, he just finished talking to cap earlier," yelena quips from the corner, just finished scrapping through the other beaten up men's body and bags in search for any information.
bucky sighed heavily. "i told you to not listen."
"i heard you mention my name, how could i not?" yelena stated obviously.
"he's asking when are you gonna visit again. sarah messaged you about it i think." bucky gestured to his own phone as if to say the other info is on your phone.
"ah, my captain really knows how to make me happy." yelena smiles as she checks her phone. "she convinced the sister to try my special mac n cheese," she tells bucky with a smirk.
"well, he also told me to ask you if you wanna come." bucky pointed at antonia with his phone.
a loud scream from the man pierced through the warehouse as antonia startles at the mention of her name that she broke the man's arms with her hands.
"i would be grateful to the captain," antonia says sincerely, but her hands never betray the strong hold it has on the man's now-broken arms.
bucky's phone beeps once and he reads it. "well, our captain says good luck on the mission and be safe." he waves his phone to everyone as if they could read sam's message from each of their places.
"he's not even a captain," a voice says. petulant, like a kid sulking. like he's not a grown man with a wife and a kid waiting at home.
"what'd you just say?" the soft smile from bucky's lips gets completely wiped out. bucky tries to stop himself from marching towards john. "care to repeat that?"
"i said," john starts, turning to meet bucky's hard gaze. "he's not even a captain."
"oh?" yelena says, her voice low, and is suddenly beside bucky. "and who is the captain then?"
john scoffs, then gestures to himself. "well, me. i'm a captain."
"weren't you stripped off of your title?" ava asks, innocently enough.
"actually-" john starts.
"that doesnt matter. sam's the captain now." yelena says, final, end of conversation, while she's still tapping in her phone with an excited smile.
"come on! being the captain america for two seconds must be a hell of an addition in his resume," alexei says.
ava chuckles from alexei's repeating of her own tirade to john a few missions back.
