Valentine being from Ireland in fanon is so fun to me because two of the most famous vampire literature authors (Bram Stoker and Sheridan le Fanu) were Irish

I don’t have many expectations of the monster high the movie sequel coming out but I need valentine in fancy clothes

Valentine mixes every language he knows when he’s tired and Spelldon only knows English and Greek so he just nods along and says stuff like “no way really” because he has no idea what Valentine is talking about

Okay so I watched the live action monster high movie and I’m snooping through the credits for hints for the second one, and two people are cast as witches (Arianna Bent and Artemis Pebdani)??? But the only witch I can find in the movie is the one at the end with the crystal ball so where’s the other one hiding?? 😭

I desperately want to write a monster high fanfic and I have everything but the plot I am distraught

I love looking too deep into the lore of a one-off monster high villain :D

I’m just now realizing that Spelldon’s last name probably has an Italian ending (ello) because Aeaea (Circe’s island) is sometimes thought to be off of the Italian coast

I’m thinking about the stuff that cuts down the MH vampires’ ages to roughly 160 and not 1600, and in that version Valentine would’ve been born in Ireland during the Great Famine

Seeing people struggle to spell and pronounce Valentine’s first name is the funniest thing to me because it’s the reality for literally every Irish name ever

I love the little detail in Val’s diary that Spelldon offers to “keep Valentine up on the groanings of school” aka gossip and his grandfather is literally Helios who sees all and snitches

Why is witchcraft a “filthy, human habit” in the reboot if in the original the majority that we see are gods

I just realized that Spelldon is probably a monster High-ified version of Sheldon and I don’t know how to feel about that

If Spelldon and Valentine were to marry, Kieran would become Manny’s cousin in law

Another thing is that Spelldon’s grandfather is Helios (the titan of the sun) and Kieran is a vampire—who can’t go in the sun

His name also means “dark,” while the sun is a paragon of light

It just hit me that Valentine’s (who canonically loves animals) love interest is the son of a witch notorious for turning people into animals

I don’t know what to do with that information just putting it out there

I feel like spelldons pretty musically inclined like his sister except he's more in the alternative genre (is alternative music even considered alternative in the mh universe?) so when he starts writing songs about Valentine Vals all like

A little thing I noticed while reading

Valentine says in his diary that:

Now, using the origin of his first name, which is an Irish (Gaeilge) name meaning “little dark one.” Looking at the fact his name is Irish, and (given his age) he would have been born c. 410 (c. 23 years before St Patrick started his conversion), we can relate him to the Ulster Cycle with little issue.

I doubt the Monster High team dug this deep, but Kieran’s line can be seen as a parallel (or just a reference to) to a feature of the warrior queen, Mebh of Connacht. She is called a sexual goddess and her name means “entrancing” or “she who intoxicates.”

It is said that Mebh could only be satisfied in bed by 7 men, or Fergus mac Róich (another character) once. Garrett Sander said that Kieran would be able to thrive off of true love, which is where Spelldon comes in.

We can compare that to the line above by saying the 2000+ women he’s charmed (yes I did the math) couldn’t satisfy his needs as an emotional vampire, but Spelldon could once.
