So there's a gender bender Contest going on for Princess Tutu, also, there's a bit of a genderbend thing going around on tumblr. I drew some things, Just thought I might share :)
Hope you guys like um :D
Mytho Used to be Blonde
In episode 5 we see a picture of an old man telling a boy (that we can assume to be Mytho because the print on the previous page mentions "the Prince" talking to an old man) about Princess Tutu. In the picture, the boy's hair is colored a faint yellow.
Also, if we look at Mythos eyebrows (yes, I am referencing his eyebrows) we can see that they appear to be a very pale brown.
Mytho 's hair was probably blonde ( maybe turned sandy brown as he grew up), and then after fighting decades with the raven, his hair turned white from old age. even though he never grew older in any other way.
Drosselmeyer Used to be Married to a Ballerina
Drosselmeyer had children; therefore, we'll assume that he was married. His wife died before him, and he was devastated. To help cope with the sadness, he started writing the "Prinz und Raben" and had used ballet in the story to honor her.
Duck is a Duckling and Not Native to Germany
Most (if not all) ducks, that start off yellow, later lose their downy feathers and grow new ones with different colors. Duck probably still has her downy and is therefore still quite young ( either that or it's an artistic choice.)
Also, no duck's native to Germany have pure yellow feathers as ducklings. (that I could find) Likely, Duck was brought in by a foreign family and lost. This would also explain her lack of knowledge of the towns history, and her surprise at seeing Mr. Cat. If she had grown up outside of Kinkan Town, she would not be used to the world warping weirdness of Drosselmeyer's powers.
Anywhoosies, I hope you like my headcanons and a good day everyone!

Three rare photos of a Dagonite in a coastal stream taken by a crew cleaning up litter. This small specimen was glimpsed briefly before darting away into the water. Given it's size it is guessed to be around two weeks old, as is it already showing multiple appendages. Dagonites this size live off small fish and insects, eventually graduating to larger prey like birds and larger fish. As it grows, the Dagonite will work it's way down stream, eventually ending up in the ocean where is is free to grow unrestrained.
While their full size is unknown, lore describes them as being massive. These creatures have been observed throughout the centuries, entering into seafarers’ tales of monsters from the deep. It is believed that H.P. Lovecraft’s tale Dagon, describes an ancient one of these creatures, from whom it gets it’s name.
just finished princess tutu. in a deep state of depression and heartache. no one talk to me unless it’s about how fakir and duck actually lived a very happy life as two humans in love
thinking about how in the odyssey, love comes in the form of recognition. to be loved is to be known and to be known is to be loved.
is your mod public? if so, where can i download it?
my three mods ( Naturality, Prehistorian, Mythos ) aren’t public yet ( closest one is Naturality, whose first update is scheduled for later this year ) but when they are, Modrinth.
HEY BUCKAROOS! REALLY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!
I’ll be leaving for a two-week cruise in a couple weeks, where I’ll have no Blockbench access. So, if you want a model or skin, tell me now! I can still do concept art and stuff, but actual BB? Nope (well… unless I can get mobile Blockbench to work…). So, DM me any critters you want made!
Don’t worry- I’ll be queueing up a bunch of models while I’m gone so you can still see progress. And of course I’ll be concept-arting in the Caribbean! Look forward to a bunch of art, guys. Also vote on that Assassins poll. You’ve a day left. Furry sweep! /j

man i haven't got any good minecraft slash comic slash oc slash musical-related asks and or dms in a while... would be such a shame if i did
my discord people got to have a qna, now it's the tumblr peoples job go crazy guys
hehehe
go follow chips (my sound designer) you little goobers
fantastic id hate having to murder my dinos for arrows (< person who Does Not use bows)
also have you considered. pheonix/firebirds for mythos. idk how much you have planned out for that since theres no content on the blog yet but. elemental birds? fire, lightning & hm. wind? i want to go for a third energy element but the only one i can think of is plasma & idk how youd differentiate that from lightning. ice?
ooh- good idea! i was thinking of having a thunderbird, but i might have a soul-fire phoenix as well… hmm! or an icenix perhaps…
this one won’t expire! for all prox needs- comics, art, mods, general tomfoolery and occasional contests, roleplay and such. onboarding still sucks, but it’ll be improved by tonight!
while i’m still working on the discord (esp. onboarding, don’t expect anything craycray there yet) and Mythos doesn’t even have a channel yet, i decided to open ‘er up to get feedback and share my goobers. follow the rules and have fun, proxels! (and also DM me for any roles you want in the meantime). my friend requests and DMs are open, as well!
my standards for "compatible": wont crash the game if i have both of them on at the same time lmao, sounds like there's tons of opportunities for them to interact tho!
Is naturality mostly new mobs/will there be plants? More crops? Also taming mechanics - will possums work like foxes? Or do they actually follow you around/sit etc?
Its awesome to see a dino mod in the works tbh the last one i played was on 1.7.10 (fossils and archeology revival i think? its been a while) and that didnt have dinos spawning in naturally (tragic).
When/how did you get into minecraft & modmaking? I spent so much time on temporary servers playing hexxit w my friends lmao we only switched to a newer version with 1.16
these are some good questions!
paragraph 1: fair enough! i always love it when mods include cross-compat, makes it feel like an expanded universe lol there’ll be plenty of crossover points between all my mods
paragraph 2: naturality will be a mix of mobs and plants. i def want a mixture of the two, along with some real-world features (silkworms, ants maybe)! there’ll be a lot of crops- esp. “heirloom” real-world plants to explain why MC plants look so modern. as for taming and tamed animals- generally animals have two “tame” states in my mods—a “befriended” state where they won’t run away, are rendered neutral and allow you to breed them—and a “tamed” state which varies among the individual but generally allows for inventory access, carpet/chest/harness usage/placement, stay-follow-wander and riding. possums, in this case, are a 2-step tame process- 1. feed the mom, access inventory, 2. take babies and raise. most animals won’t be like foxes when fully tamed, though a few will
also tomatoes and corn’ll be in naturality lol
paragraph 3: i. love. fossils. and. archaeology. that was probably my first foray into all the crazy stuff MC modding could do, in probably 2017 or so. and don’t worry! prehistorian’s dinosaurs (for the most part) will spawn naturally, with fossils reserved for rare skins and some boss-summon material (ooo!)
paragraph 4: great question! i started playing MC in… maybe 2014-15 or so??? my memory’s pretty foggy, but i remember the new launcher and polar bears and thinking the new aquatic update was BIG NEWS. as for modding—i discovered that world maybe 2016-17-18 territory.
i had a big family server (that i’m trying to get running again) with one lonely mod- DrZhark’s MoCreatures! along with F&A Rev., MoC was another mod-codifier (modifier?) of sorts- it cemented the idea of “holy crap, these people are bending MC to their will!! HOLY CRAP!!!” that led me to learn Blockbench in… mid 2021?? granted, i had some art experience before then.
since i’d consider myself a relatively good writer, i came up with these huge master lists of creatures and features (which i’ll eventually publish as fully-fledged prox mod bibles). it’s been a real lesson in creativity, coding, and a whole bunch of other stuff! someday i might make a proper modeling tutorial for how to make a semi-decent animal model, since there’s literally nothing out there in proper Mojang style lmao
thanks for the ask! like i said before ask as much stuff as you want i love answering questions!
-prox
are the rats & possums in the same mod? Im assuming the dinos are separate lmao but will they be compatible? Idk how mods work actually so sorry if thats a stupid question. also whats the third mod you mention in your bio?
hey thanks for the ask! i’m currently working on 3 mods- one about nature and stuff (naturality), one about mythological creatures (mythos), and one about prehistoric animals! mythos is the one i’m still cookin’ up, the one in my bio! hopefully, all mods will be compatible with not just each other but with other mods.
what i mean by that is they might have cross-compat with other mods (like Vazkii’s Quark) and with themselves (Prehist deinon eats Natur rat).
and yes, Possum and Rat/Mouse are all from naturality! bonus fact- all of these mods are gonna be on 1.20.1 to begin, but will hopefully be back ported to 1.18 and 1.16.5! the only requirements for these bad boys is an animation engine called GeckoLib, which is necessary because the 3D program i use (Blockbench) isn’t the best for rigging and animation (gotta do some trigonometry). feel free to ask me some more stuff!
i’d’ve never expected the amount of love (at least for an absolute nobody of a creator like me) that you dudes in my computer have shown for me and my modposting! it’s really mind-boggling to wake up to like 50-something likes, reblogs or new followers. to celebrate the neil post alone getting almost 40 likes, send me a message and i’ll make your pet/fave animal into a blockbench model!
more exciting news- i’m working on a discord server for everything prox-related, be it mods, comics or just my art in general. see you around! proxes’ note- the first Mythos showcase will hopefully be this weekend! it’s a firebird!

Somethings Never Change

Just a Couple Days
NO. 1
Tezcatlipoca is the god of the night sky, hurricanes, obsidian, conflict, and providence. When depicted, he usually wore a talisman with a disk worn as a chest pectoral. While depicted with black and yellow stripes painted across his face, he is usually shown with his left foot replaced with an obsidian mirror, bone, or snake, as it was lost to the sea monster Cipactli in the mythos. In the Aztec religion, he was the central deity. In Aztec or Mesoamerican folklore, he and other gods could shapeshift, and he was no different as his counterpart was the illusive but powerful jaguar, which is why he is known as the jaguar god.
NO. 2
This figure is extremely popular, and worshipped by the Mayan and Olmec communities. His name in the Mesoamerican language means ‘Smoking Mirror.’ This deity has numerous epithets which allude to different characteristics, like Ipalnemoani ("He by Whom We Live"), Necoc Yaotl ("Enemy of Both Sides"), and Tioque Nahuaque (‘Lord of the Near and the Night’), etc. His power to omnipresence was more a connection that extended far beyond obsidian since ritual bloodletting and human sacrifice were conducted with obsidian. Apart from being a creator god, he was also a trickster and ruled over the modern Aztec pantheon.
NO. 3
Tezcatlipoca, according to Aztec mythology, was born to the primordial creator deities Ometecuhtli and Omecihuatl, and had four siblings; one of whom, Quetzalcoatl, the god of the wind, patron of priests, and inventor of calendars and books; he was known as the Serpent Feathered god. The brothers feuded as much as they worked together, working towards the same goal but sometimes in opposition towards each other. After being born, this deity spent over 600 years for his youngest brother Huitzilopochtli to grow flesh before Tezcatlipoca and Quetzalcoatl, together, made the world. Before the world was made, the only thing that was technically alive were a few gods, a massive ocean and the sea monster, Cipactli, which Tezcatlipoca successfully lured away and killed by using his foot as bait. Both brothers were able to create the world on the sea monster’s body.

A skeletal figure dressed in robes or dressed in the virgin’s shroud, Santa Muerte is both the Grim Reap-ress and the Angel of Mercy. She is the personification of death, and her full title, Nuestra Señora de la Santa Muerte as she is well known as, brings an ambiguous and malleable identity that is associated with healing, protection, and safe delivery to the afterlife by her devotees, as her following, especially in 21st century is being celebrated all over South America, but especially Mexico City to the United States and Canada.
NO. 2
Even though Christian missionaries and leaders condemned the religion, Santa Muerte ‘‘offers hope to a society threatened with hopelessness. In the colorful barrios of Mexican culture, the figure of Death is ubiquitous. With the lure and dangers of narco-culture, the violence among competing youth gangs, the haunting realities of an economy in collapse, and the gravel fight to survive in a Tepito marketplace; Mexicans face the reality of death on a daily basis. Santa Muerte, the image of death, protects them from uncertainties in their everyday lives. When Death is the only guarantee, it seems like Death is the only one to be trusted.’’ The worship of Santa Muerte began in the mid-20th century and was clandestine until the 1990s, were most prayers and other rites have been performed traditionally at home. Now in the 21st century, worship has become a more public thing. Santa Muerte has a male counterpart in the U.S, called the skeletal folk saints San La Muerte of Paraguay and Rey Pascual of Guatemala.
NO. 3
So, what caused the worship of Santa Muerte to become a massive, worldwide following? Drug violence, for one, and loss of faith in Christianity. ‘‘Former Mexican president Felipe Calderon’s declaration of war on the cartels in 2006 was received with praise by North American politicians, as in their view, it seemed that the Mexican government was finally taking a strong stand against the cartels and that there would be a swift resolution to the social problems associated with drug trafficking. This open war declared on the cartels resulted in an escalation of drug violence and forced several dramatic changes in the safety of Mexico and its already chaotic social scene. Military personnel, paramilitary groups, and the cartels have been fighting for control of the country and have created a state of panic in the border towns and beyond. The panic and violence in the north have begun to gradually make it’s way south and reach areas that were once ‘safe’. According to the BBC from 2006 to 2012, more than 50,000 individuals have died from drug-related violence. Amidst the drug-related instability, the once strong and influential Mexican Catholic Church has been losing credibility, support, and members. The loss of faith in the Catholic Church could be caused by many factors: general pessimism, individuals searching for other forms of faith, and the result of the church’s support for governing political parties.’’
NO. 4
Who is Santa Muerte? Anthropologists and historians J. Katia Perdigon Castaneda and R. Andrew Chestnut agree that the veneration of Santa Muerte is a combination of Catholic imagery and rituals from Meso-American pre-Hispanic gods and rituals. There is a common list of names for the goddess, such as Mi Nina, (My little girl), La Nina Bonita (the Pretty Girl), La Madrina (the Godmother), and Mi Amor (My Love)—adoring names that tighten the relationship between devotee and saint. There are darker allegations like Senora de la Sombras (Lady of the Shadows) or La Negra (the Black Lady). There is also La Hermana Blanca (The White Sister) and Hermana de la Luz (Sister of the Light). She is celebrated on the Day of the Dead, November 1st and 2nd. better known as Dia De los Muertos.
Fairies are magical creatures, and all manners of children are obsessed with just the mention of them. Not to mention the Disney-ified version of fairies like ‘‘Tinkerbell’’. But where or what was the was the origination of ‘fairies’? How did people come to call these magical spirits ‘fairies’? And where did the word ‘fairy’ come from, and how has the meaning change over the centuries?
Well, the first question, what are the origins of fairies, or ‘fairyland’? Fairies are most widely mentioned in Gaelic literature, meaning Ireland, and are vastly integral to the people and culture. ‘Ireland is the country of Fairies. Fully to understand the Irish temperament, therefore it is necessary to know Ireland’s Fairy lore. Since the Fairies are mentioned first and most frequently in the literature written in the Irish languages of centuries ago, we must turn for information to the great mass of poems and stories from the twelfth to the sixteenth century. The Fairies of ancient Ireland belonged to a race known as ‘Tuath De Danaan’ came to Ireland, legend says from the ‘northern isles of the world, where they had been learning lore and magic and druidism and wizardry and cunning until they surpassed the sages of the arts of heathendom.’ ’’
Why then, have the mention of fairies been connected to the feminine, and feminine ideals? Because beauty standards rely heavily on gender, and ‘fairies’ with their magical art forms, have become twisted and their original ‘conquering form’ forgotten, and what better way to reinforce this than by using children’s fairy tales, which emphasizing women’s beauty and passivity, which serve to legitimize the dominant gendered system. ‘‘Research since the early 1970s has shown that children’s literature contains explicit and implicit messages about dominant power structures in society, especially those concerning gender. Fairy tales written during the eighteenth and nineteenth were intended to teach girls and young women how to become domesticated, respectable, and attractive to a marriage partner and to teach boys and girls appropriated gendered values, and attitudes.’’
Finally, where did the word ‘fairie’ come from? ‘‘They were at first, as established up above, called the ‘De Dannans’, who came to conquer those who were already in possession of Ireland, but were overcome with the ‘Mileasans’, a mythical race said to be the ancestors of modern Irishmen, and settled in a seperate part of the island, retiring into the green hills, where they required a new name: People of the Fairy Mound, or Aes Side (Ace Shithe, or Shee). As clouds are shot through with lightning, so is early Irish literature with accounts of invaders who became the Fairy Folk. ‘In Ireland, the Fairies have never been forgotten’: Brian Merriman, the last Gaelic poet of prominence, speaks of them as the treasure of his country in time of trouble, and Patrick MacGill, the Donegal poet, expressed the same idea when, amid the terrors of the battlefield, he wrote, ‘If we forget the Fairies,
And tread upon the rings,
God will perchance forget us,
And think of other things.
When we forget you, Fairies,
Who guard our spirits’ light:
God will forget the morrow,
And Day forget the Night’’.
