{Part 1} {Part 2} {Part 3} {Part 4} {Part 5} {Part 6} {Part 7} {Part 8} {Part 9} {Part 10}
One night, Shana decided to let all the kids go over to her house and play while her mom and Chris made dinner. Carly also joined Shana while keeping the kids. Chris was out on the back patio grilling hamburgers for dinner. You finished helping Lisa with preparing the condiments and sides then you slipped out onto the back patio.
You slowly walked up behind Chris and wrapped your arms around him. He knew it was you by your hands.
“Hey, baby.” Chris said softly.
“Hi.” You whispered back and laid your head against his back.
You both stayed quiet, just enjoying the sounds of outside around you. Chris laid his spatula down and turned in your arms so you were against his chest. He wrapped his arms around your waist and looked around at the backyard he grew up in. You looked up at him then out in the same direction he we was looking.
“It’s nice here.” You said quietly.
“You think so?” He questioned.
“Yeah, this seems like a good place for a family.” You said looking up at him. “It’s not quite a small town in the south, but it’s still nice.” You laughed softly.
“Where would you rather raise your family, here is Sudbury or in Atlanta?” Chris asked.
“Wherever I’m with you.” You smiled.
Chris looks down at you with his eyes full of love and adoration. “I love you, Y/N.” He whispered and leaned in to kiss you.
“I love you too.” You whispered back just before your lips met. You both pulled away with smiles on your faces.
“So, you would want to raise a family with me?” Chris gave you a questioning look.
“Most definitely! You are amazing with Olivia. I can’t imagine what you would be like with your own children.” You said while running your hands over his shoulders and down his arms.
He leaned down and pressed a kiss to your forehead before turning back to the burgers on the grill. You took a seat on the patio chair and watched Chris. A few minutes later the back door opened, revealing Carly holding Olivia.
“Olivia, who is that?” Carly pointed to you.
“Mama!” She said clearly.
You gasp and reach out for her. “Good job, baby girl!” You cheered proudly. Chris turned around to see Olivia giggling in your arms.
“Who is it, Livie?” Chris questioned her.
“Mama!” She said again. Chris smiled at her proudly.
You smiled at him, you mind filling with thoughts of having children with him and him looking at them the way he was looking at Olivia. Chris looked at you before taking Olivia from your arms. He kissed her cheeks as she giggled. After holding her for a few minutes, he handed her back so he could take the hamburgers off the grill. You opened the back door for him and followed him inside the house.
“Ma, did you hear Olivia say her first word?” Chris asked his mother as he placed the tray on the counter.
“No, I didn’t! I want to hear.” She smiled excitedly.
“Livie, who is that?” Chris asked her as he pointed to you.
“Mama!” She giggled.
“Oh my!” Lisa grinned and clapped. “Such a smart girl!”
You kissed Olivia’s cheeks and tickled her as you held her. “Don’t blink! Before you know it she’ll be all grown up!” Lisa said with a smile.
Soon, dinner was served and everyone gathered around the outdoor dining table.
“So, Chris, when do you plan on popping the big question?” Scott asked his brother teasingly with a hint of seriousness.
You nearly choked on your chip you were eating. Chris’s stared daggers into his brother.
“Scott!” Lisa reprimanded. “That is not an appropriate question for the dinner table.”
You took a sip of your drink to stop your coughing.
“Ma, I was just kidding!” Scott defended himself.
The rest of dinner was filled with mindless conversation. You stayed rather quiet until it was over. You helped Lisa wash the dishes as everyone else hung out in the living room.
“I apologize for Scott’s behavior earlier, Y/N.” Lisa said as she dried a dish.
“There’s no need to apologize. It was a harmless comment.” You half smiled at her.
“I don’t mean to pry, Y/N, and I know its only been a few months since you and Chris have officially been together, but do you see a future with my son?” She set the dish down and turned her full attention to you, you followed suit.
“If I’m being honest with you and myself, yes ma’am. I see myself building a life with Chris.” You started to blush. “He treats me so well, and he has always been understanding of my situation with Olivia. I think since the night I got the call about my sister, I have seen a future with him.”
Lisa smiled brightly and pulled you into a tight hug. “Y/N, you are an amazing woman. After meeting you just a few short days ago, I’ve know that there is no one better for Chris than you.”
You teared up at her comment. “Just promise me you will take care of him. He needs it.” She laughed softly.
“Yes ma’am. I promise.” You laughed.
“Hey, what’s going on in here?” You heard Chris ask from the kitchen door.
You pulled away from Lisa and wiped the stray tears. “Nothing, just dong dishes.” You smiled at him.
Olivia was asleep against his shoulder. “Alright then, I was going to go put Livie down, but I figured you would want to kiss her good night.”
“Ugh this man in literally perfect” You thought. He knew that even if Olivia was asleep, you would always kiss her and tell you loved her.
Chris brought her over to you. You kissed her cheek and whispered in her ear. You smiled up at him before he took her to your shared bedroom.
Once you and Lisa finished the dishes, you decided to head up to bed for the night. You went into the bedroom you and Chris were sharing. As you stepped in, Chris was closing the bathroom door.
“I’m going to shower.” You said grabbing your pajamas and stepping into the bathroom.
After your shower, you crawled into the bed with Chris. You curled up next to him, you head against his chest.
“So, do you want to tell me what you and my mom were talking about?” Chris asked in a whisper as he ran his hand over your back.
You internally debated with yourself for a moment before deciding to tell him. If things were going to really be serious, you had to be open and honest.
“After your brother’s question at dinner, your mom asked me if I saw a future with you.” You looked up at Chris, you could just barely make out his features in the dark. “And I told her, yes I do. I know it’s only been a few months but you’ve been through a lot with me in just under a year.” You took a breath. “You’ve been my compass through times when I didn’t know which way to go. I don’t know what I would have done without you. I love you, Chris Evans.”
Chris was lost for words at your outpour. He kissed your forehead, then your nose then your lips. “I love you too, Y/F/N Y/L/N.”
“Do you see a future with me?” You asked shyly. You were glad it was dark because you wouldn’t have been able to make eye contact if there was light.
“I can’t imagine one without you or Olivia.” He stated. “Thank you for letting me in and letting me help you and be your compass.”
Chris kissed your forehead one more time before you both fell asleep. It was the best sleep you had in ages.

{Part 1} {Part 2} {Part 3} {Part 4} {Part 5} {Part 6}
Four months had passed and filming was done. Chris has handled the Twitter incident that happened before filming and all was well. Olivia was seven months old, and she was as amazing as ever. She began teething while filming was going on, that was a rough patch. Olivia had learned to roll over from her back to her tummy and back again.
You and Chris were as close as two could be without officially being anything. By the end of filming, you knew you were ready to try things out with Chris. You had learned to navigate life with Olivia, and you were ready.
You had been back in L.A. for two days, so you invited Chris over. You decided to actually make dinner instead of ordering out. You ran to the store to grab a few things. You cleaned up the apartment, more than normal. You put Olivia in her walker and started on dinner. Olivia moved around the kitchen giggling and cooing.
Olivia loved to be in the kitchen with you, even if the times were few and far between. She had started eating puréed foods, so she liked the kitchen. You decided to make one of the few dishes you didn’t need a recipe for, spaghetti. You knew your mother’s recipe like the back of your hand. Once you finished cooking, you went to your room to change. A pair of skinny jeans and a black V-neck top with a knot tied in the side. It wasn’t super dressy, but nicer than your normal sweats.
There was a knock at the door around 6. Olivia squealed and cooed at the sound.
“Oh, Livie, I think your favorite person is here!” You picked her up out of the walker and went to the door. You opened the door, revealing Chris with his signature grin.
“There are my girls!” Chris beamed. Olivia giggled loudly as she recognized the sound of Chris’s voice. She reached for him. He took her from you and walked in the door.
“Woah, is it a special occasion?” He asked after noticing your outfit, the squeaky clean apartment, and the smell of a home cooked meal. Chris was in jeans and a patriots t-shirt.
You blushed and bit your lip. “It could be a special occasion.” You said looking up at him.
He raised his eyebrow, slightly confused. “Care to fill me in?”
You stepped closer to him and smiled up at him. “Well, I was thinking four months is a pretty long wait.” You smirked.
It took Chris a few seconds to realize what you were saying. “Wait! Really? Are you sure you’re ready?” He began questioning.
You couldn’t help but giggle at how excited he was. “Yes, I’m sure. You’ve been so patient and so helpful. I think I’ve learned to navigate my new life and I want you to be a part of it.”
His smile could have split his cheeks it was so big. “I would love to be a part of your new life.”
You smiled up at him as Olivia giggled. Chris leaned down and kissed you. You didn’t hesitate to return the kiss. The kiss was sweet and gentle.
“Should we celebrate with dinner?” You grinned. Chris nodded and followed you into the kitchen.
“Mmm, that smells amazing!” He hummed.
“Spaghetti.” You smiled at Chris. “My mom’s family recipe!”
Chris put Olivia in her high chair at the table then fixed his plate. You fixed your plate then grabbed a jar of baby food for Olivia, sweet potatoes. You both joined Olivia at the table.
You opened the small jar and began feeding small spoonfuls to Olivia. You and Chris enjoy your meal together.
After dinner, Chris put Olivia down while you cleaned up the kitchen. Chris liked the feeling of being normal, even if was just a few hours at a time. He enjoyed his time with you and Olivia because it was simple and domestic. You didn’t see him as a big hotshot actor, you just saw him as Chris, the incredibly handsome, super funny guy that liked you and your niece.
Chris quietly walked entered the kitchen and wrapped his arms around your waist. You smiled at the feeling of his big arms around your waist and the heat coming from his chest.
“Hello there.” You said as you dried your hands on kitchen towel.
“Hi.” He whispered and kissed your cheek.
You turned around in his arms and looked up at him. “Is she asleep?” You wrapped your arms around his neck.
“Yep, she was out in no time.” Chris explained.
“Good! Now I have you to myself.” You told him as you stood on your tiptoes to kiss him. You hated to admit that you were sometimes jealous of the attention Olivia got, but it was fine by you because that meant he accepted her.
You kissed him with a smile, his hands rubbed small circles on your hips. He pulled away and smiled down at you.
“You are amazing, you know that right?” He questioned.
“No, I think you need to tell me again.” You blushed.
“I will tell you everyday, if you want me too.” Chris kissed your forehead.
“Mmm, that sounds nice.” You smiled. He hugged you tight against him. “Want to watch a movie?”
Chris nodded and walked with you to the couch. Chris sat in the corner of the large sectional while you grabbed the remote. You sat down beside him and curled into his side.
You started scrolling through Netflix and happened upon one of the movies Chris starred in “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.”
“How about that?” You asked jokingly.
“Absolutely not!” He laughed and snatched the remote from your hand. You giggled as Chris began to search. He immediately went in search of a Disney movie, and you didn’t protest a bit. Hercules appeared on the screen and you couldn’t contain the small noise of excitement that escaped you when you saw it.
Chris chuckled. “Hercules it is!” He clicked the movie and you both settled in to enjoy the Disney favorite.

{Part 1} {Part 2} {Part 3} {Part 4} {Part 5}
Three weeks had passed and you were packing your bags for filming. You ended up not getting someone to keep Olivia. She was three months old and in three months she had been through enough. You decided that it was just better to bring her with you. Everyone was used to her, so it wasn’t a problem.
It was around four in the morning and you were getting dressed to head to the airport. The first location of filming was New York. You were trying not to wake Olivia as you got ready.
Over the last three week, your routine became more natural. You figured out different cries from Olivia and what she wanted. She even began to recognize things. It was an amazing thing to watch her reach different milestones.
She would move her head to follow the toys in front of her. When Olivia would lay on her tummy, she would push-up on her arms and hold her head up. Chris was over at your apartment when she first held her head up.
Olivia is on the floor on her stomach, and you are next to her. Chris is laying on the couch, half asleep. You and Chris have become even closer over the last few weeks. Olivia is cooing and wiggling on the floor. You think you are seeing things when her head first lifts off the play mat. You start watching her intently. She does it again, raising her head just barely off the floor.
“Chris!” You call out excitedly.
He shoots up from the couch. “Huh! What?” He questions.
“She’s is holding her head up!” You smile up at him. He moves down to the floor and lays on his stomach facing her. She turns her head and looks at Chris while holding her head up.
“Good job Livie!” Chris coos at her with a smile.
Chris had become your best friend in a way. He was always willing to hang out or get you something if you needed it. Sometimes you would makeup something just so he would come over.
You finished getting dressed and began taking all the luggage down to your car. Once you finished that it was almost five and you needed to be leaving for the airport.
You hated to do it, but you had to get Olivia up and changed. You gently picked her up and laid her on your bed. You changed her diaper and put her in a clean onesie to travel in, normally she would have worn a cute outfit but it was just the airport. Luckily after changing her, she went back to sleep. You strapped her in her car seat and turned off all the lights. You locked your front door and headed for the car.
After getting in your car, you felt your phone buzz. You checked it and it was a message from Chris making sure you were up. You smiled at your phone. He was just too sweet. You responded that you were up and on your way to the airport.
You arrived at the airport and got inside. You found the gate for your flight. The entire flight was booked out for cast and crew. Chris was already at the gate half asleep in a chair. You set your bag beside him and it made a slight thud. He opened his eyes and looked around.
“Good morning sleepyhead!” You beamed at Chris with a smile. He smiled back at you. Olivia was strapped into the chest carrier around your torso.
“Good morning to you two beautiful girls.” You blushed at his words. You turned around, so your back was to Chris, he got the hint and reached up to undo the buckle of the carrier.
You gently got Olivia out and passed her to Chris. She was also half asleep. She yawned as she laid against Chris’s chest. It was almost as if that was her safe place. “Oh yeah Livie, I feel you.” Chris chuckled.
You sat down beside Chris and smiled as he held Olivia. “You better be careful. People will be taking pictures and posting that you have a secret child.” You laughed.
Chris continued to rub Olivia’s back until she was fully asleep again. “People can’t ever mind their own business.” He said.
“I think that comes in the job description.”
He laughed softly. You both sat at the gate talking until it was time to board the plane. You found a seat and sat down with Olivia in your arms. It was a row of three seats, you were in the window seat. Chris made his way down the aisle and plopped down into the aisle seat of your row.
“You couldn’t help yourself, could you?” You teased.
“No, I needed to be next to the two most beautiful girls.” Chris smirked.
Scarlett poked her head up from the row behind you. “Excuse you?” She quirked her eyebrow.
“Sorry, sorry. Correction, the three most beautiful girls.” You all laughed.
You knew how good of a relationship Scarlett and Chris had, and it was fun to watch at times. They were close and you didn’t mind it.
Everyone boarded the flight and take off began. The flight was easy. Olivia was as easy going as the first time you flew with her. A couple hours later, the plane landed in New York. Everyone made it off the flight and through the airport to the vans waiting outside. Chris was ushered onto a van with the cast, while you and Olivia were put on a van with the stunt crew. You got Olivia’s car seat and strapped her in. The luggage was loaded and the vans left for the hotel.
Chris powered his phone on and it began to blow up with notifications from Twitter and text messages with screenshots of pictures. Just like you said, people had taken pictures of him holding Olivia and playing with her this morning in the airport.
“So has @ChrisEvans been keeping a secret?”
“Does @ChrisEvans have a secret?”
“🤨🤨🤨 @ChrisEvans”
“@ChrisEvans with a baby!😍 my ovaries are exploding”
“Daddy!😍😍😍 @ChrisEvans”
Chris ignored the posts on twitter and the text messages. He decided he wasn’t going to tell you because he knew it would make you feel bad and you would blame yourself.
Once you were at the hotel, you grabbed your large suitcase and held Olivia’s car seat in the other hand. You began trudging for the elevator. Chris rushed up beside you and took your suitcase from your hand.
“You know you could ask for help.” He stated as the elevator doors opened.
“I know, but I don’t like bothering people.” You said adjusting the grip in the car seat handle. He shook his head and laughed.
“You are stubborn.” He teased.
“What? Can’t handle it?” You smirked up at him.
“Oh, I can handle it just fine, baby girl.” Your cheeks turned bright red at the sound of the pet name. You were glad it was just you two and Olivia in the elevator. While in the elevator, you could hear Chris’s phone dinging over and over again.
“Is your phone ringing?” You questioned.
“No, it’s probably just emails.” He said looking in front of him.
“Are you sure?” You looked up at him.
“I’m sure.” Chris said. It continued buzzing. You reached into his pocket and grabbed his phone. “Y/N, it’s nothing.”
You looked at the screen and saw a picture from the airport this morning and 15 notifications from Twitter.
“We’re you going to tell me?” You asked.
“No, I didnt want you to think it was your fault or for you to feel bad.” Chris stated.
“Well, it is my fault! And I do feel bad!” You sighed. “If I hadn’t handed Olivia to you, no one would have taken pictures of you and rumors wouldn’t be spreading that you have a secret child!”
The elevator sounded as you reached the tenth floor. You stepped off and walked to your door.
“Chris, I’m so sorry! I don’t want to make your life anymore complicated than it already is. So if you change your mind about waiting, I’ll understand.” You said as you pushed open your door.
Chris followed you in with your luggage. You set Olivia’s car seat on the bed.
“Y/N, you and Olivia do not complicate anything. Like you said, it’s in the job description.” He said looking down at you. “I want you and I want Olivia. The fact that you’re handling all this so well, makes me want you even more. You are so strong and you are being a hero in my opinion. I will wait as long as I have too.” Chris kissed your forehead.
You just looked up at him. “I don’t think you’re human.” You said. Chris laughed. “You are an Angel.”
“I’m not an angel.” He said. You smiled at him.
“How are you going to handle the rumors?”
“Don’t worry about that.” He pressed a kiss to your forehead.

{Part 4}
Monday morning arrived, and you were up groaning at the sound of your alarm that surprisingly didn’t wake the baby. You made some breakfast and packed the diaper bag before Olivia woke up. You didn’t have enough time to find a babysitter, so Olivia joined you at work, you cleared it with everyone first.
Olivia woke up just as you finished getting dressed. With your job, leggings, dry-fit shirts, and tennis shoes were your go-to. You got the crying baby from the crib and calmed her down. You changed her diaper and fed her.
After getting her dressed, you both headed for the car. You pulled into set parking and got out. You grabbed the diaper bag and the car seat. Olivia had fallen asleep on the drive over.
You walked in the door and into the stage area where all the padding and mats were set up for practicing stunt and fight scenes. You saw Erin and some of the stunt performers. You walked over with a small smile. “Morning!”
They smiled and said good morning. You set the car seat down as Olivia started to wake up.
“Why do you have a baby?” One of the stunt performers asked. Erin shot him a look.
“This is my niece. If you have a problem you can take it up with my sister.” You said. “Oh wait, she’s dead.” You snapped at the guy.
You weren’t in a bad mood so to say, but definitely weren’t in the best of moods. Olivia had cried until 3 o’clock in the morning and you had been clueless on what to do. So you just held her until she decided she had done enough crying and fell asleep. Which meant you only slept for a few hours and it wasn’t even a deep sleep.
You sat and talked with the other coordinators and some of the performers until the cast started to arrive. Scarlett and Chris were the first to arrive. You were sitting in a chair holding Olivia while she had her second bottle of the day. Scarlett got closer and realized it was you.
She gasped. “Y/N, who is this cutie?” She asked looking down at the baby.
You jumped slightly not noticing her. “Oh gosh! You scared me!” You laughed as you looked up at her. “This is Olivia.”
“You never mentioned you had a baby.” Scarlett says.
“Umm, well, because two weeks ago I didn’t have a baby.” You laughed softly. “She is my niece.” You went on to explain the entire situation. Scarlett, of course, gave you her sympathies.
Chris came up behind you and started making faces down at Olivia. She quit taking the bottle and started cooing. You tilted your head back and met Chris’s blue eyes. He was laughing and smiling.
He reached down and took Olivia from you. She started to gurgle and coo loudly. “Hello to you too, Olivia.”
Scarlett laughed. “I take it they’ve met?”
“Yeah.” You nodded. “He met me after I got back from Atlanta, and he helped out with some things.”
“He did?” She raised her eyebrow. “What did he help with?”
You laughed softly. “Well, he went baby shopping with me, and he put together Olivia’s crib.” Scarlett nodded and laughed.
“Well it’s good to know he’s good for something.” Scarlett teased.
Chris ignored her as he finished feeding Olivia. “Olivia seems to like him, so.”
“I can see.” Scarlett said. She walked over to Chris and stole Olivia from him. Chris spouted and walked over to you.
“And how is the second most beautiful girl?” Chris bent down to your level.
“Second?” You raised your eyebrow.
“Yeah, Livie is the obviously the first.” He laughed.
You smiled at him. “I’m fine, just tired.”
“Did you not sleep last night?”
“I tried.” You let out a breath. “But Olivia wouldn’t sleep. I tried to put her down at 6:30 and she didn’t go to sleep until three this morning.”
“Well, if she doesn’t sleep tonight, call me and I’ll come hang out with you.” Chris smirked.
“Chris, I’m not calling you in the middle of the night to come hang out just because Olivia won’t sleep.” You laughed.
“Why not?” He smirked. You smiled at him and shook your head.
“Chris Evans, you are something else.” You thought.
Soon everyone had arrived and the day began. It was a big adjustment having Oliva on set. She did not want to lay in her car seat at all. Every time you tried to lay her down, she would cry. So, you ended up having to hold Olivia and try to show the performers and actors what you wanted them to do.
“Hold on. I don’t like that.” You stopped Scarlett and one of the stunt performers. Olivia was asleep on your shoulder. “Scarlett, I want you to try this.”
You tried to explain it without having to show her, but it just didn’t work. Chris came up behind you and took Olivia. You nodded a thank you to him then continued to explain what you wanted from Scarlett.
12:30 rolled around and that meant lunch. You had spent most of the morning working with Scarlett on her different scenes. You found Chris in a darker spot of the building.
“Chris, what are you doing?” You asked.
“Shhh. She’s asleep.” He walked over, and Olivia was asleep against his shoulder with her pacifier in her mouth.
You shook your head at him. “Well it’s 12:30, you should go eat. I’ll take her.” You reached for her.
“I’m not really hungry.” He stated as he looked down at Olivia.
“Chris, we are working a lot with you after lunch. You need to go eat. And Olivia needs her bottle.” You said to Chris.
“I just fed her.” He smiled at you. “You were with Scarlett and you looked like you were in the grove, so I did it.”
You couldn’t help but laugh a little. “Well, thank you. My list of debts to you continues grow. Now, please give me my baby and go eat.”
“And what about you? Who’s going to make sure you eat?” He raised his eyebrow as he passed Olivia over to you.
“I have a protein bar.” You told him.
“That’s not lunch.” Chris stated. “Come with me to get lunch.”
“Chris, I wish I could, but we have a meeting with the director.”
Chris sighed and nodded. “Alright.” He started to walk away, but came back.
“What?” You raised your eyebrow. Without a word, Chris gently kissed your cheek then headed for the door.
You couldn’t stop smiling as you walked to your bag. You didn’t want to tell Chris no, but you had a meeting with the stunt crew and the director.
Thankfully, Olivia slept through the entire meeting. After that, you changed her diaper and waited for the cast to return. It was just you, Olivia and a few other people, but they were on the opposite side of the room.
Olivia was awake and laying on a blanket on one of the pads. You were sitting beside her. She cooed as she held onto a rubber toy.
Chris walked in the door and immediately spotted you. He walked over with a bag from a cafe in his hand.
He handed you the bag without saying anything then began to play with Olivia.
“Chris, what is this?” You asked opening the bag.
He shrugged not even looking at you. You huffed and rolled your eyes. Inside the bag was a grilled chicken Caesar salad.
“Chris, you didn’t have to do this” You laughed. Chris smiled down at Olivia.
“That is better than a lame protein bar.” He said. “And, if I remember from the first time we worked together, you probably didn’t even eat your protein bar.” He gave you a stern look as he picked up Olivia.
Chris wasn’t wrong. In the beginning of your career, you had a knack for forgetting to eat lunch, and you hated to admit, but it was something you were still prone to doing.
You looked down in shame, letting Chris know he was right. You went to grab your protein bar then one of your co-workers called you name, and then Olivia woke up after the meeting. After looking at the food in the bag, your stomach was growling.
“Thank you.” You said glancing at Chris. He just smiled and nodded. You ate the salad before the rest of the cast arrived.
The last half of the day went well. Olivia decided she would lay in her car seat and play with her toys. You kept the car seat close by, so you could keep an eye on her.
Finally, the day ended and you were strapping Olivia into the car seat to take her to the car.
“Hey Y/N!” Scarlett called out. You turned around to face her. “Here is short list of some the people I’ve used to watch my kids and my number is on there. So if you need something, let me know.”
You smiled at her. “Thank you Scarlett. This means a lot. Y’all have been the best to me through all this and I can’t thank you enough.”
“No need to thank me.” She smiled. “You’ve worked hard in the last few weeks, so this is my way of repaying you.” Scarlett chuckled.
After talking to Scarlett, you grabbed the diaper bag and picked up Olivia in her car seat. “Alright Livie, lets go home.”
You walked out into the parking lot and unlocked your car. You put Olivia in and shut the door. It was just after 6 o’clock, so your plan was to pick something up on the way home.
You were opening your car door when you heard your name being called. You knew it was Chris and you couldn’t help but smile. He jogged over with a smile. “I just wanted to tell you that you did an awesome job today with having to balance Olivia and such an active job.”
You blushed and smiled. “Thank you Chris. Hopefully next week I will have found a sitter.”
“Oh come on now, you know everyone enjoyed having her around.” He chuckled.
“You might have enjoyed her, but not everyone did.” You sighed.
“You know getting a sitter will be pointless. Because in three weeks we start filming and you’ll be traveling for that.” He said.
You weren’t sure what Chris’s angle was, but he had a point.
“I know, but even if it is just for three weeks, it will be easier on everyone. I will definitely think about it though.”
He nodded. “Have a good night, and I’ll see you in the morning.” Chris leaned over and kissed your cheek for the second time that day.
You smiled at him. “You too, Chris.”
He walked off, and you got into your car. You picked up Chinese for dinner then you drove home. You got inside and took Olivia out of her car seat. You let her lay on the floor on a blanket, so she could stretch out and play, and you could eat.
You ate pretty quickly then attempted to put Olivia to bed. It took some time, but you got her to sleep, that you were thankful for.
You showered and laid around in the living room for a while. You were concentrating on flipping between channels when you heard your phone buzz against the coffee table.
Chris- “Hey, I’m sorry about what I said earlier. I don’t know what I was trying to accomplish with that. I just like having Olivia around. She brightens up the whole place. I’ve just been thinking that I was kind of a jerk.”
You- “It’s ok. I didn’t think you are a jerk.”
Chris- “Ok good. I don’t want to mess things up between us and I thought maybe I had.”
You- “I think it would take more than a silly comment to mess things up. I know you meant well.”
Chris- “Ok. I feel better now. Is Olivia asleep?”
You- “Yeah, she’s been down for about thirty minutes. I’m not far behind her.”
Chris- “Good, I’m glad she’s asleep. I’ll see you in the morning. Good night:)”
You- “Good night”
You quietly went into your room and got in bed. You fell asleep with a smile on your face, thinking of Chris

{Part 1} {Part 2}
A/N: I told myself I was going to update once a week, but I’ve already written through part 6. So, I was getting impatient with myself. I’m not sure how many parts this will have but it has 6 complete parts so far.
“What?” You looked at your mom in utter shock. Your mother dropped a bomb on you, well at least that’s what it felt like.
“I know, it’s a shock, and with your career you don’t need a baby.” Your mom said. You looked down at your niece as she cooed in your arms. She didn’t deserve any of what was happening.
“No, I-“ You stopped. “I will take her. I know you and dad are capable, but I think it would be better for everyone if I took her.”
“Honey, are you sure? Your career is taking off and you have such odd hours.” Your mother was just wanting to make sure you knew you had options.
“I’m sure.” You said. “If that’s what she wanted then that’s what I will do.” You kissed your niece on her chubby cheeks and she giggled.
Your mom nodded. “Alright hun.” She squeezed your hand again.
You ate breakfast, and felt like your haze was getting thicker. Most of the day was spent sitting around and talking. Your parents went and made arrangements for your sister’s funeral.
You texted Chris throughout the day, but you never told him about your niece. As the day progressed, you needed to tell someone. Finally, you messaged Chris and asked if you could call him. He, of course, said yes.
You tapped the phone icon under his name and it began ringing. You were sitting on the back patio as Olivia napped in her swing.
“Hey Y/N! How are you doing?” He asked.
“Umm, well I was doing better until my mom informed me of something.” You told Chris.
“What was the news? I’m guessing it was something big.” Chris asked, genuinely wanting to know what was bothering you.
“My sister has appointed me to become the legal guardian of my niece. She never told me she was doing that.” You admitted to Chris. “She’s two months old.”
“Oh.” Chris was unsure of what to say.
“I know I just unloaded that on you, but I needed to tell someone. And you were the only person who knows what’s going on.” You sighed.
“Well, umm-” Chris stuttered. You could tell Chris was struggling. “I’ll help you figure things out.”
“Chris, you don’t have to do that. I also wouldn’t even know where to start.” You told him.
“Y/N, you are going to need help. Let me help you.” Chris said.
You sighed. “Alright, alright. I will accept your help.”
“Good because you were going to get it any way.”
Your niece began to cry. You stuck the phone between your shoulder and your ear and went to pick her up. “Shh, it’s ok, it’s ok. Aunt Sissy is here.” You sat down in your chair.
“Aunt Sissy?” Chris questioned. You forgot he could hear you.
“Yes, when my sister and I were little kids she couldn’t say my name, so she called me sissy. So, we figured why not be Aunt sissy.” You explained to him.
“I like it.” He said. “I’m just plain ole Uncle Chris.” He laughed.
“There’s nothing wrong with that.” You told him.
You and Chris talked for a few more minutes then you ended the call. Your parents came home after a while. You and your niece were both asleep on the couch.
The next few days were a blur. You attended the funeral of your sister and finalized documents to become the legal guardian of your niece.
It had been a week. You knew you had to get back to L.A. and back to work. It was Friday morning and you were able to book a flight back to L.A. for the next morning, but this time you had to mark that you were flying with a baby. You were slightly dreading the flight home. Five hours on a plane with a two month old, that was definitely uncharted waters for you.
That night, you packed your suitcase and Olivia’s things. You told your parents to keep everything your sister had bought at there house. You would just have to buy new things after you were back in L.A.
That night, you couldn’t sleep. Your mind just wouldn’t shut down. Every scenario, good and bad, were going through your head. You checked the clock and it was almost 3 a.m. You groaned and just stared at the ceiling. You weren’t sure when, but eventually you fell asleep.
7 a.m. rolled around much quicker than you wanted it too. You groaned as you turned your alarm off. You got up, got dressed, and finished off both yours and your nieces packing.
You woke Olivia up, fed her, and got her dressed for the flight. Your nerves were still on end wondering how the flight was going to go. Your dad helped bring your things to the car as you loaded everything.
“Are you going to be ok?” Your dad asked.
“I think I will be fine.” You told him. “I have a friend who is already offering to help me.”
He nodded as he closed the back of the car. You both walked inside to get Olivia.
Your parents drove you to the airport. They kissed Olivia goodbye then you.
“Call us, no matter what time, if you need anything.” Your mom said. You nodded and hugged her. You were grateful that your sister had purchased one of the infant carriers that you wear, so your hands were free. It was an odd feeling, walking around with a baby. People looked at you when normally no one would look your way.
You got your boarding pass and headed to your gate. After grabbing a coffee and a muffin, you sat down at your gate. You audibly sighed when you sat down. You looked down at Olivia, she was fast asleep. You ate your muffin and drank your coffee before your boarded your flight.
While you were waiting at the gate, your phone rang. You looked down and it was Chris. You slide over on the screen to answer and put the phone to your ear.
“Hello?” You asnwered.
“Good morning Y/N! What are you up too?” Chris asked.
“I’m at the airport waiting on my flight.” You said. “Chris isn’t it like 6 a.m. in L.A.?” You questioned.
He glanced at his alarm clock. “Oh yeah, it is. I just woke up and I thought since we didn’t talk much yesterday, I’d give you a call.”
You smiled. “Why are you up at 6 on a Saturday? I’d be sleeping until noon.” You laughed softly.
“I don’t even know why myself.” He laughed. “I went to bed pretty early last night, so maybe that’s why.”
“Well, I was the opposite. I didn’t go to sleep until 3 then I woke up at 7 and was at the airport by 9.”
“Wow! You made it to the airport in an that amount of time with a baby? That’s impressive.” Chris commended you.
“Yeah, I guess I did. It wasn’t that bad. I got up, got dressed, dressed Olivia and my dad drove us to the airport. It’s a 45 minute drive from my parents house to the airport.” You told Chris.
“How is Olivia doing?” He asked. You smiled to yourself. Most people probably wouldn’t ask.
“She’s doing well, I think. I can ask, but I don’t know if I would get a response.” You laughed softly as did Chris. “I’m worried about the time change though. For an adult, you just take a nap and all will be fine. I don’t know how it affects a baby.” You admitted to Chris.
Over the week, you realized you felt something towards him. You didn’t want to admit to yourself what that was, but you would admit it was something.
“I don’t really know.” He said with a sigh.
“Chris, I’m worried. I don’t know anything about babies. I know they are cute and you have to change their diapers, but that’s it!” You said to him.
“Well, my sisters have a few kids and I know a little bit about babies. I will be glad to help you out.” Chris assured you.
“Thank you.” You smiled. Your conversation continued for another twenty minutes. You talked about work and how you were doing.
Your flight was being announced so you had to say goodbye. “I’ll be back in L.A. around lunch.” You told Chris before ending the call.
You grabbed your backpack and stood. It was different now that you had Olivia with you. People were more careful around you, they seemed to take notice of your prescense.
Your parents paid for your flight home and they booked using Delta so your seat was classified as Comfort plus. You had a bit more room than a normal seat, which was nice considering you were traveling with a baby. You got comfortable and removed the carrier, it was kind of a relief.
The flight attendants were super helpful and even offered you some tips after you admitted you had never flown with a baby. Right as the flight began to take off, Olivia began crying.
You started panicking. You knew it was probably the pressure in her ears from the takeoff because you felt it in your own ears. You reached into the diaper bag and grabbed a bottle.
You clicked the button on the bottle to drop the powder into the water. You shook the bottle then held it for Olivia. She immediately calmed down and started eating. You sighed in relief. After her bottle, you burped her and she fell asleep almost instantly.
The rest of the flight was calm. You changed her diaper, fed her again, and she slept. Finally, you landed in L.A.
You made your way into the airport to grab your luggage and Olivia’s car seat. Once you had everything, you made it to your car. You loaded Olivia’s car seat then her, then your luggage.
You finally got into your car and took a deep breath. “We made it Livie.” You grabbed your phone and texted Chris that you had landed and were headed home.
Thirty minutes later, you were pulling into your apartment. You somehow manage to get everything into your apartment in one trip. You took Olivia out of her car seat and she stretched and yawn. “Girly, you must like to sleep.” You laughed as you laid her down the couch cushion beside you.
You checked your phone and saw a message from Chris.
Chris- “Good. If you don’t mind, I wanted to stop by later. Only if it’s ok with you.”
You- “Of course! I would really like that.”
Olivia started cooing and gurgling. “What are you saying Livie? Are you excited to meet Chris?” You laughed. She continued to gurgle.
Chris- “I’ll be there in about an hour.”
You- “Alrighty! See you soon!”
As you were waiting on Chris, you started smelling something, and you knew exactly where it was coming from. You look over at Olivia. She had this grin on her face looking back at you.
“You are something else.” You laughed and went to grab the diaper bag. You laid the changing mat down on the floor then Olivia. You unbuttoned the onesie and started holding your breath. There was a knock at the door right as you undid the diaper.
You knew it had to be Chris. “Come in!” You called out. The door opened and Chris smiled at you.
“Am I interrupting something?” He laughed.
You shook your head and laughed. “No, you’re not interrupting.” You finished changing Olivia’s diaper without any sort of disaster. So, you patted yourself on the back for that.
You picked her up off the floor and disposed of the diaper. You went back to the living room where Chris was standing.
“Chris, I’d like you to meet Olivia.” You said smiling as you held her. “I call her Livie.” Chris smile down at her.
“May I?” He reached for her.
“Of course!” You gently passed her to Chris.
“Hello Olivia!” He cooed at the baby as she giggled.
You smiled at him and sat down. As you watched him hold Olivia, your buried feelings started to surface. You looked at his arms and how much smaller Olivia seemed in them.
She gurgled and cooed as she looked Chris. “She must like you.” You teased him.
“You think?” He raised his eyebrow and smiled at you. “She’s beautiful like her aunt.”
You blushed. “I bet her mom was beautiful too.” Chris said sitting down on the couch.
“She was.”
He looked at you then down at Olivia who was yawning. “I think someone is sleepy.” He chuckled.
“I bet.” After you said that, you began thinking you didn’t have anything you needed for Olivia. No crib, no changing table, no diapers, no nothing. Chris noticed your expression changed in a matter seconds.
“What’s wrong?” He asked.
“I don’t have anything she needs, Chris. I have a car seat and a diaper bag.” You said putting your face in your hands.
“Well then let’s go. Let’s get Olivia everything she needs.” Chris smiled at you.
“What? Now?” You looked up at him.
“Yeah. We can go to Target, Walmart. I don’t know, we will find somewhere.”
You sighed and nodded. “Ok.”
Olivia was asleep in Chris’s arms. You walked over and grabbed the car seat. You sat it on the coffee table in front of Chris. He gently placed Olivia into the car seat and strapped her in.
You smiled watching him do it. He was gentle with her. The way he smiled at Olivia as he buckled her in made your heart melt.
“Alright, lets go.” He said as he stood up. “You can just get a few of the essential things. A crib, diapers, wipes, formula, bottles.” He listed them off.
You nodded. You went to grab the handle of the car seat but Chris stopped you. “Let me.” He said.
He grabbed the handle and carried the car seat to your car. He locked the car seat into place then shut the door quietly. You were sitting in the driver’s seat waiting. He leaned down.
“I know you’re tired, so I’ll be driving.” You gave him a soft smile and willingly went around to the passenger side.
Over the next couple of hours, you, Chris and Olivia shopped for the essentials. You decided on a simple, white crib, nothing extravagant at the moment. You picked up several sets of pink sheets for the crib.
As you shopped, people were giving you odd looks. Who wouldn’t? Two people with a baby shopping for baby things now, that’s technically backwards. But, you paid no mind to the people in the stores.
The shopping ended and you three headed back to your apartment. It’s was around five in the afternoon when you got all the boxes and bags inside.
While shopping, you saw a swing and you knew how much Olivia loved her swing at your parents. You told your self you wouldn’t get it right now, but you looked down at Olivia and caved. That was the first thing put together.
Everything was inside the apartment. Chris was setting down the last bag as you held Olivia on the couch.
“Chris, I can’t thank you enough.” You smiled at him as he walked over and sat beside you. “I don’t know how I’m going to repay you for everything you’ve done for me and now Olivia.”
“Y/N, you don’t have to repay me.” He said looking down at you. “Everything I’ve done, I did because I wanted to.”
A tear slid down your cheek. “No, no, no! Don’t cry.” He said wiping the tear. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you cry.”
“I know you didn’t. I don’t even know why I’m crying.” You said with a small laugh. “You have been so nice to me through out all of this, I’m also sleep deprived and still pretty emotional.”
Chris smiled at you. Before either of you could say anything, Olivia started to cry. You looked down at her and tried to figure out what she wanted. You checked her diaper and it was clean.
“Want me to make a bottle?” Chris asked standing up to reach for the diaper bag.
You nodded as you held Olivia’s pacifier in her mouth. She continued to cry. Chris mixed the bottle and warmed it.
“Here you go pretty girl!” He said replacing the pacifier with the bottle. She started sucking down the bottle. You laughed softly at how quickly she was eating.
As she ate, Chris sat down beside you. Your mind couldn’t help but wonder to the future. What if this was your future? You, Chris and a another baby. Maybe you did want something with Chris, but just not right at the moment. You need some time to adjust with Olivia. And if you were reading Chris right, he would wait until you were ready.
You glanced over at him. He was looking down at Olivia in your arms. She was almost done with the bottle. Her eyes were wide open and she was looking back at Chris.
“Oh yeah, I think she really likes you.” You laughed. “She can’t take her eyes off you. I don’t blame her though.” You smiled at him.
Chris blushed. “You don’t?” He raised his eyebrow.
“Not one bit.” You smiled.
Chris chuckled unsure of what to say. You quickly realized how forward you were.
“I’m sorry, that was very out of line.” You apologized.
“No, don’t apologize. It’s totally ok.” He said. “How I about I start putting together that crib?” Chris smiled. You nodded as your cheeks burned with embarrassment. Chris stood up and went to work.
Olivia finished her bottle, and your burped her. You heard her burp then felt something warm running down your shoulder. “Oh Livie! Why?” You groaned.
Chris turned his head and saw the problem. He walked over and took Olivia. He couldn’t help but laugh, just a little. “Olivia, why would you do that?” He wiped her face.
“I’m going to change shirts.” You turned and went to your room to find a clean shirt. When you returned, you found Chris with Olivia pressed to his chest as he swayed. You smiled watching the scene.
“You know Olivia, I really like your aunt. She’s so kind and loving and caring, but you already know that. And she’s absolutely beautiful.” Chris spoke to your niece.
Your cheeks flushed red as you listened to him go on. You cleared your throat and he quickly turned towards you.
“How much did you hear?”

Part 1
Morning came and Chris’s phone was chiming every five seconds. He woke up, slightly confused by his surroundings. Chris shook his head and looked down at the weight he felt on his chest. You were asleep on top of him. Your head resting in the center of his chest. He tried to stay still so he didn’t wake you, but he failed. Your eyes fluttered open and you looked up at him. Chris could see how puffy and red your eyes were.
“Morning.” He said softly.
You smiled softly. “Morning.” Chris’s phone chimed again and he reached out to grab it. His phone was full of text notifications from Scarlett, his brother, and a few others.
“What time is it?” You sat up and looked at him.
“10:15.” Chris told you. You nodded and walked to the kitchen. You started brewing a pot of coffee then began searching for something to cure your hunger.
“Would you like some coffee?” You offered.
“Coffee sounds amazing.” Chris answered all his messages then joined you in the kitchen. “How are you this morning?”
“Umm, I honestly don’t know. I don’t know how to feel. I think maybe once I’m home and able to get closure I will be able to process my feelings clearly.” You told him as you handed him a mug filled with coffee. “I still feel like I’m in a haze. Like this is some sick episode of one of those prank shows.”
Chris wasn’t sure if it was appropriate to laugh, so he didn’t. He fixed his coffee to his liking then watched you as you moved about in the kitchen. He hated himself for picturing his future like this. You making breakfast as his just stands idly watching.
“Chris, I want to say thank you. You didn’t have to drive me home or stay the night with me, but you did. It shows how much you care even though we have been friends for a short amount of time. So, thank you.” You walked over and kissed his cheek. His skin was set on fire by your kiss and he hated how much he was falling for you while you’re in such a vulnerable state.
You cooked bacon, eggs, and toast for breakfast. Chris sat beside you at the bar as you both ate, silently. It wasn’t an awkward silence, it was peaceful and content like you had done it a million times.
He watched you from the door as you packed your suitcase. “Is there anyone at work that needs to know what is going on?” Chris asked. He didn’t want your job on the line over something out of your control.
“I forgot! I have to call Erin.” You said reaching for your phone. Erin was the other stunt coordinator for the movie. You told him about the emergency, not in full detail, but it was enough for him to get the picture.
You finished packing and checked the time, a quarter after one. You sighed and looked at Chris. “I guess I should get dressed and ready to leave.”
He nodded. “You’re right. I’ll leave you to it.” Chris turned and headed for the door. You followed.
“How are you going to get home?” You asked.
“I got an Uber, so I’m going to wait outside.”
“Chris, you don’t have to wait outside. You’ll get noticed in a heart beat, just stay up here until it gets here.” You said.
Chris’s heart skipped. He could tell you cared for him. You did, no doubt about it. He was kind to you from the moment you met. It didn’t hurt that he was attractive.
You got dressed and finished packing the last of your necessities. “Y/N!” Chris called out. “My uber is here.”
You joined him in the living room. “Thank you, again Chris.” You said to him as you wrapped your arms around him. He gently wrapped his arms around your waist.
“Anytime, doll.” He pulled away with a small smile. You kissed his cheek one more time then walked with him to the door. “Let me know when you’re back in town.” Chris said.
“How will I do that? I don’t have your number.” You stated.
He pulled out his phone and handed it to you. You entered your number then returned it. “Now I have yours. If you don’t mind, I plan on checking in on you.” Chris said. “Oh, that sounded stalkerish.” He couldn’t help but laugh and neither could you. “There’s that beautiful smile.” You blushed.
“I don’t mind, please check in on me.” You said with a grin. He nodded before making his way down to the parking lot.
It finally was time to head to the airport. You rolled your suitcase to the door and grabbed your backpack. Everything was ready for you to head to the airport. You turned off all the lights and locked your door. After loading your car, you drove straight to LAX.
You got inside the airport, through security and finally sat down in front of your gate. Your boarding pass was laying in your lap and you looked down at it. You started reading it and noticed it was a first class ticket. Then you started to think. Chris booked your flight, and you didn’t give him your credit card information. You reached the conclusion that he had paid for your flight. You felt terrible about it.
“Why would he do that?” You thought. You sighed and leaned your head back. Against the hard airport seat. And you couldn’t text him to complain because you don’t have his number.
Boarding for your flight began. You stood as your section was called. As you scanned your boarding pass, your phone chimed signaling a text. You decided to wait until you were situated on the plane before answering.
Once in your seat, you pulled your phone from your pocket. There was no name, just a number. Your knew it had to be Chris. You felt your heart rate pick up just slightly.
Message:
Unknown- “Hey Y/N! It’s Chris. I just wanted to check in, make sure you made it to the airport.”
You smiled after reading the message. You put his name in your contacts before responding.
You- “Hey. I made it to the airport and I’ve boarded my flight. I’m also mad at you at the moment. You booked me in first class and paid for my flight!”
Chris- “I’m glad you made it safely. Well you can be mad at me all you want. And don’t even think about trying to pay me back.”
You sighed and rolled your eyes. He had proven to be slightly difficult. You debated on how to respond. While you were debating the announcement to begin powering down devices sounded. You quickly typed your response.
You- “I’m going to repay you! We are getting ready to take off. I’ll let you know when I land.”
After sending the message you turned off your phone and put it away. You relaxed into your seat and just prepared for the flight ahead.
The flight home was just under five hours and you slept most of the way. You woke up just a few minutes before landing. As you landed, the feelings of the entire situation started to weigh on you.
You sighed as the plane touched down and began to taxi to the gate. After exiting the plane, you checked your phone. It was close to one in the morning. You texted your parents to let them know you had landed. You ordered an Uber as you walked to baggage claim.
You grabbed your suitcase and waited. While you waited, you debated on texting Chris. In your head it was late, it was 1 a.m. to you. Then you remembered it was only 10 p.m. in L.A.
You clicked his messages and began to type.
You- “Hey just letting you know, I made it to Atlanta. I’m waiting on my Uber now.”
You sent the text and closed your phone. Within a few minutes you received a response.
Chris- “Good! Glad you made it safely.”
Before you could respond, your Uber arrived. The driver helped you load your bags and you left the airport. It was a 45 minute drive to your parent’s house, so you pulled your phone out to text Chris.
As you started typing, Chris sent another message.
Chris- “What time is it there?”
You- “It’s 1 a.m. here. I feel like a zombie.”
Chris- “Damn, I bet you do.”
You- “I slept most of the flight but I think that added to my zombieness😂 but I’m still going to pass out as soon as I get in the bed.”
After sending the text, your eyes started feel heavy. You ended up falling asleep on the ride to your parent’s house.
Forty-five minutes later you pulled up in front of your parents house. You grabbed your luggage and walked to the front door. Using the key under the mat, you opened the door.
You walked in expecting everyone to be asleep, but your mom was sitting in the living room. You gasped seeing her in dimly lit room.
“Mom! You scared me!” You said quietly.
“Oh honey, I’m sorry. I was waiting up on you.” She said standing up to greet you at the door.
“Why? You didn’t have to do that.” You said hugging her tightly.
“I know, but I wanted too.” She squeezed you and kissed your cheek. “I know you’re tired, so I’ll let you head up to bed. We can talk in the morning.” She said before letting you go.
“Good night mama, I love you.” You told her before heading up stairs to your old bedroom.
“I love you too.” She said.
You went upstairs and sighed. You put your suitcase in the corner and flopped on the bed. Sliding your phone from your pocket, you see a message from Chris that was sent almost thirty minutes before.
Chris- “Well, I hope you sleep well when you finally make it to a bed.”
You- “Thank you! I just made it to my parent’s. I’ll talk to you tomorrow. Good night!”
Chris responded almost instantly.
Chris- “Good night!”
You put your phone on the charger and put your pajamas on. You crawled into the bed and passed out within a few minutes.
The next morning, you woke up around ten and went straight for the bathroom. You took a shower and washed away all the airport grime.
Once you were dressed, you made your way downstairs into the kitchen. Your mom was sitting at the kitchen table holding your two month old niece, Olivia. Your dad was standing at the stove making breakfast.
Seeing your niece instantly made you tear up. You sat down beside your mom as the tears slid down your cheeks. She reached over and held your hand. “We are going to make it through all this.”
You nodded. Your mother was a strong women and you knew that. She had always told you, “In hard times you have two options, to either hide under the covers and whither away or hold your head up and become a stronger person.”
Your niece began fussing and you reached to take her from your mom. You gently held her in your arms as she stopped fussing. “Y/N, we have some things that we need to talk about.” Your mother said.
“Like what?” You raised your eyebrow as your dad placed a plate of pancakes in front of you.
“Well, the papers left by your sister state in case of emergencies or death guardianship of Olivia will be given to you.”
You looked at your mother, speechless. “What?”

Story Summary: After college, you moved to L.A. to begin pursuing your dream in the movie industry. You started with an internship and worked your way into the position of stunt coordinator by the age of 25. Your life was finally working out, You were finishing the first week of training with the Marvel cast for "Avengers: Age of Ultron." You had it all put together until your younger sister took her life, left you full custody of her two-month-old daughter, and you found the love of your life. (Based of Chris’s movie “Gifted”)
Pairing: Chris Evans x Reader
Warnings: Mentions of suicide but no in depth details.
The first week of training with the cast was awesome. Everyone was open to your opinion on the different scenes. The cast themselves was something else. They welcomed you with open arms. You had worked with Chris Evans before on set of "Captain America: The First Avenger." It was nice to have a familiar face on set on the first day. The first week went by in a flash. Time flies when your having fun, isn't that the saying?
The week ended, and Chris invited you to join him and the rest of the cast for drinks. You debated on your answer until he flashed his signature smile, and you agreed. You were all sitting in a big corner booth, away from the front of the bar, laughing and joking. You sat between Chris and Scarlett. Chris was telling a story when your phone started ringing. You glanced down and noticed it was your mom. She never called that late, so you knew something was up. You excused yourself and slipped outside the bar to answer the phone.
While you were outside, the rest of the cast instantly gave Chris a look. "So, she is the girl from a couple a years ago?" Robert asked him. Chris raised his eyebrow and looked at him.
"I don't know what you're talking about." He said while a blush crept onto his cheeks.
The table erupted in laughter. "Well, even if it's not, the way you look at her obviously says you feel something." Scarlett smiled.
"I won't lie to you, she's cute, and she's kind-hearted, but she is also confident and bold and is not afraid to voice her opinion." Everyone at the table smiled at Chris's words.
You ended the call with your mother. The call was one, no one ever wants to receive in their life. Your sister had taken her life just two months after having a baby. Tears were streaming down your face as you walked to the table to retrieve your purse.
"Y/N, what's wrong?" Chris was the first to ask and the first to notice the tears. You wiped at your cheeks and sniffed. "Nothing, I just have to go." You said feeling bad for dampening the mood of the table.
Scarlett gave Chris a look. "Y/N, you can't drive home like this. At least let one of us drive you home." You didn't want to speak, knowing your voice would crack, so you nodded. Chris handed you your bag and wrapped his arm around your shoulder as he walked you out of the bar.
The two of you walked to your car. You passed him your keys before sliding into the passenger side of your vehicle. Your tears had stopped. Chris walked around to the driver's side and started the car.
"Y/N, I understand if you don't want to talk, but I want you to know that you can talk to me or Scarlett or any of us. We are a family." He placed his hand on your knee. How were you so lucky to have ended up in this friend group? You were just a stunt coordinator, not a big time actor.
You looked at him, and your walls collapsed. The tears started flowing, and a sob escaped. "My- my- my sister, she- she's dead." You gasped as the tears spilled over. Chris hugged you as best as he could, being separated by the console.
He didn't ask any more questions. He let you tell him what you wanted him to know. Your head was spinning, but it was calming to have Chris there holding you.
Once you felt you had calmed down, you pulled away. Chris took that as his cue to start driving. "Umm, exactly where is home for you?" Chris asked.
You took a breath and gave him your address. He nodded and started in the direction of your apartment complex. By the time he reached the parking lot, you had stopped crying. Your body was beginning to settle into the shock of the whole situation. Chris helped you out of the car and up to your apartment. He opened your door after figuring out the right key.
You started to feel like you were in a haze like it was all a dream. You were very close with your sister. You were two peas in a pod, you thought she told you everything.
Chris's voice drew you out of your head. "Scarlett is going to pick me up, but she said it may be an hour or so. They got caught by a crowd of fans." Chris said as he closed the door. You nodded and turned to go down the hall to your room. "So, if it's ok with you, I'm just going to hang out on the couch."
"I need to book a flight home." You mumbled out.
"What?" Chris walked towards you.
"I need to book a flight home." You repeated. Chris nodded and walked to your laptop on the kitchen counter. It was still open, so he took it upon himself to book you a flight. "Atlanta." You said as he began typing.
"The earliest flight to Atlanta is tomorrow at 5 p.m." Chris looked at you as you continued to stand in the hallway. "That's fine." You confirmed. Chris booked your flight, and without hesitation, he paid for the flight. He made his way over to you.
"You should go shower and try to clear your head," Chris said as he looked down at you. You could tell he was trying to help and comfort you, but without ever being faced with this problem, he was unsure of how to help. "I'll be on the couch if you need me." He gave you a soft smile.
It was a strange feeling you had. Even though you were barely friends, having Chris around was calming, and you could tell he was doing everything in his power to help even in uncharted waters.
You made your way into the bathroom and turned the water on, as hot as you could stand. You stripped and stepped under the steaming water. You stood under the water as it streamed down your body. Finally, after several minutes, you began to shower, washing your hair, then your body and your face.
You turned the water off and stepped out, grabbing a towel as you did. After wrapping up in the towel and staring at yourself in the mirror, you exited the bathroom and went to get dressed in your bedroom. Chris heard the open and closing of the doors.
Once you were dry and clothed, you went to the living room where Chris was still situated on the couch, scrolling through his phone. He looked over his shoulder at you and gave you a sympathetic smile. You joined him on the couch, sitting next to him. Chris wrapped his arm over your shoulder and held you to him. "I'm so sorry about your sister. I know me saying that doesn't fix anything, but I'm here if you want me to be."
You looked up at Chris, your eyes bloodshot and starting to swell. You could also feel a throb building in your head from all the crying you had done in the last hour.
“We have known each other for four years, we just became real friends this week and you are somehow giving me a sense of peace and comfort I really need right now.” You laid your head on his shoulder as he held you tightly.
“I’ll stay as long as you need me.” Chris whispered.
“Thank you.” You said lowly. The tears slowly started flowing again. “I’m sorry.” Your tears ran onto Chris’s shirt.
“Y/N, you have nothing to be sorry about.” He said to you. “I can’t imagine what you’re feeling right now.”
Before you could respond, Chris received a text. “Scarlett is outside.” He said. You pulled yourself away from Chris and wiped your tears.
“Oh, yeah it’s late and you’re probably ready to escape from the emotional wreck that is me.” You said.
“Are you sure you’re ok? I could-“ He stopped himself. He was going to say he could stay but he realized that would be a little forward.
You took a breath. “No, I’m not ok.” You looked at him as he stood. Chris felt kind of stupid after he asked that, but he didn’t know what else to ask. “But I know I don’t want to be alone. You were going to say you could stay, right?” You flashed him the slightest smirk, and he couldn’t help but smile. Chris knew this was the wrong situation to be making a move, but he hoped it was obvious.

I REALLY need some help with a title! I’m begging!🥺🥺 I want to post the first part but I have no title!
I watched Gifted then I had this dream. I started writing it, and it became way longer than I expected. It’s going to have to become a multi-part fic and this will be the first ever one for me. So, if y’all would be interested, drop some title ideas in the comments.
Here is the summary/snippet of it.

Summary: Chris shows the reader how she should truly be treated.
Warnings: None.
A/N: I write in first person, it’s just easier to me. I’m also fully aware that Joe Johnson, the real director, is not a true jerk. It was again just easier. Also, the reader is from the Texas. I’m from the south and I thought it added something🤷🏼♀️
Somehow, at the age of twenty-two, I was hired as one of three director’s assistants for “Captain American: The First Avenger.” Each of us had different jobs, but mine I felt mine was definitely the best. I was the line of communication from the director and producers to the actors, mainly Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, and Hayley Atwell. But like all jobs there was a small down side, mine being the jerk of the century in my boss, Joe Johnston. The upside to this job heavily out weighed the down though, I met my best friend and boyfriend, Chris Evans.
I was first hired after the casting and such. My first day meeting the three stars, I would closely work with, was in a meeting. Chris, Sebastian, and Hayley were all brought to New York to go over a few changes in script.
They all came in and sat down in the conference room. Chris looked around. “Is there any coffee any where?” He asked.
Joe immediately said, “The girl-“ he looked at me, “is on her way to get some. Just tell her what you’d like.” I wanted to roll my eyes and scoff, but I kept it to myself. “The girl? Really? I have a name.” I thought to myself. I just smiled at the three stars and nodded. Chris wanted a medium coffee with two sugars and whole milk. Sebastian wanted a large black coffee. I almost gagged. “Who can drink that?” I thought. Hayley asked for a water. Joe wanted his usual. I wrote everything down and headed down to the small coffee cart in the lobby.
Marisa was the young girl who worked the coffee cart and she was kind of my only friend some days. I handed her the paper with the order on it. We made small talk while she fixed the drinks.
“Y/N, I’m out of whole milk.” She said as she fixed Chris’ coffee. “Really?” I whined a little. “What do you have?”
“2% milk, half and half, almond milk, and vanilla creamer.” She listed them off. “I don’t want to just put something in Chris Evans’ coffee. What if he notices?” I panicked a little not wanting to get further on the bad side of my boss.
“Well I can put those four in small cups and he can pick, them it’s not your fault.” Marisa thought of the idea. “That could work!” I perked up. She fixed four small cups with each and labeled them.
I returned to the conference room with what looked to be eight drinks. Before having a millisecond to explain, Joe jumped on me. “Eight drinks! Are you incompetent?” He shook his head. Chris and Sebastian both looked at each other as if they wanted to say something.
I passed out the drinks, Chris’ last. “Mr. Evans, the coffee cart was out of whole milk.” I stated as I placed his coffee down. “These four cups have different options, 2% milk, half and half, almond milk, and vanilla creamer. I wasn’t sure which you would like.” I said smiling.
“Thank you, very thoughtful.” Chris smiled at me. “I’ll take the half and half, and please just call me Chris.” He said. I nodded and handed it to him. Chris fixed his coffee then I cleaned up the trash.
As I was throwing away the extra cups, Joe looked at me. “You can go sit in the hall now.” I turned and looked at him. I nodded and grabbed my small bag and exited. Chris and Sebastian exchanged yet another look. I closed the door and sat on a bench in the hall for the next two hours.
Two hours later, Hayley exited the room followed by Sebastian then Chris and Joe. He glared at me. “You’re done for the day.” He said coldly. I nodded and began to put my laptop away. Joe said his goodbyes to the three stars and walked back into the conference room. Hailey and Sebastian did the same and went for the elevator. Chris leaned against the wall and watched me pack my things. I looked up at him and smiled.
“You know, you don’t have to take that from him.” He stated. I laughed and stood up. “But I do. He’s my boss and if I said anything back, I would end up fired.”
“You could at least remind him that you have a name.” Chris said. “You do have a name right?” He raised his eyebrow.
I laughed and blushed slightly. I couldn’t help that he was attractive and quite the flirt. “Yes, I do have a name.”
“And your name would be?” He stood up from leaning on the wall.
“Y/N” I said with a smile.
“Hmm, well see I think that sounds much better than ‘girl’.” Chris said. “How about you join me for lunch, Y/N?” He asked.
I raised my eyebrow. “You want ME to join you for lunch?” I was shocked.
“Yes, I would like to show you how a woman should be treated.” Chris stated. I blushed five shades of red.
“Ok.” I giggled and put my bag on my shoulder. He smiled and began walking with me to the elevator. “I know a great little cafe.” Chris said.
We left the Marvel offices and began walking. Talking to Chris was easy and it just flowed. We made it to the small cafe and were able to get a table outside. It was beautiful day. We sat down and our conversation just continued to flow.
“So what did you do to end up at the end of Joe’s anger?” Chris asked. I just shrugged. “You’re guess is as good as mine.” I said taking a bite of my sandwich.
“How’d you even know about this place? I’ve lived here for four years and didn’t even know it existed.” I asked changing the subject.
“My sisters are travel gurus and they know all these little places that aren’t super crowded in just about every city.” Chris explained. I laughed softly and nodded.
“Hey, I see that coming in handy.” I smiled at him. I couldn’t help but stare just slightly at him. The way his eyes shine and the way he smiles.
The waitress came with the check and I fully intended on paying for my half of the meal. It wasn’t a date, or at least I didn’t think it was. I reached into my bag to grab my wallet.
Chris raised his eyebrow at me as he accepted the check. “What are you doing?” He asked as he placed his card in the book.
“I’m going to pay for my half of the meal.” I stated mater-of-factly. Chris laughed and handed the waitress the check. He gave her a look and she escaped to run his card.
“Chris, I’m a big girl. I can pay for my food.” I said.
“I know you can, doll.” Chris said with a smile. My cheeks flushed red at the sound of the pet name. “But I wanted to treat you like a real woman should be treated.” He reached across the table and laid his hand over mine. “I understand working for someone who’s not easy to deal with, it happens a lot in this business. That being the case doesn’t mean you deserve to be treated in such a crude and harsh way.”
I couldn’t help but smile at his kind words. Before I could give my response, the waitress returned with his card. He put his card away and pocketed his wallet. We stood and I figured we would part ways from the small cafe.
“So as I continue to treat you like a real woman, which way is your apartment? I’m now going to walk you home.” Chris stated. I could not help but laugh softly at how confident his statement sounded.
“It’s this way.” I said smiling as we walked out of the restaurant and headed down the street.
“So, you’re from Massachusetts, right?” I asked Chris as we walked.
“Yeah, Boston to be exact.” He smiled proudly. “And you are from?” Chris raised his eyebrow and gave me side glance.
“Well, I’m not from around here.” I laughed.
“Oh, I can tell.” He said. “That accent is definitely not one of a Yankee native.” I couldn’t help but laugh, I thought I was doing a pretty good job at covering my accent.
“Alright, alright, you got me!” I smiled “I’m from Texas.”
“Texas?” He said looking at me as we stopped at a cross walk. “Well I will give it to you, I definitely would not have guessed Texas.”
“Well then, where would you have guessed then?” I asked, quirking my eyebrow up and finally letting my accent become more natural.
“I don’t know, maybe somewhere south but definitely not that south.” Chris laughed. I blushed and smiled.
“Yeah, well I’m just a southern belle.” I said exaggerating my southern accent. Chris laughed as we continued our walk to my apartment.
After a few more blocks, we made it to the lobby of my apartment building. “Thank you, Chris!” I smiled up at him. “You definitely showed me how a woman should be treated.”
“That’s good, but I’ve got one more thing to show you.” He said with a smirk.
I raised my eyebrow at him as he stepped closer. He slowly reached his hand up and rested it against my cheek as he leaned in. I knew it was coming. I raised up on my toes just slightly and met his lips. I rested my hand against his chest. As cliché as it sounds, our kiss was electric.
I pulled away as my cheeks turned red. I looked up at him with a soft smile. “I’m not complaining, but why?”
He laughed and smiled down at me. “Because you, Y/N, are absolutely stunning, you’re obviously very smart and talented. You also deserve to be treated with respect and like the woman you are.”
I think I almost melted as I listened to him. “So if it’s ok with you, I want to take you out on a date.” Chris said. “Not like what we just did because I get the feeling you didn’t think that was a date.” He laughed softly. “Like a ‘pick you up at 8, wear something nice’ type date.”
My cheeks were still red as I nodded. “I’d really like that.” I smiled up at him. Chris took my phone from my hand and put his number in my contacts.
“I’m in New York until Wednesday morning. I’ll pick you up tomorrow night at 8.” Chris smirked and handed me my phone. “And wear something nice.” He winked and started walking away.
