Yanfei spends a lot of time with her nose buried in a thick book or running around Liyue settling legal disputes.

If she ever sees you in the city streets while she’s out and about she’ll be sure to pause to greet you or check-in

Sometimes, if you’re finishing up your tasks around town when she pops up out of nowhere she’ll ask for you to come along, she always would say how you always made her more productive

Yanfei’s pace was fast, talking admittedly over her shoulder at her newest client, who was trying their hardest to keep up. She was discussing a lot of different outcomes from their current case, mentioning some places they should visit to help ensure their legal victory. Lost in thought she aimlessly dodging passerby and street vendors while her client fired off stuttered question after question. Only when her deep state of thought broke did she look up and spot you talking to a vendor at a cart, purchasing goods. With a growing smile, she quickly made her way over to your side and startled you with a tight hug. Pressing a kiss to her cheek, you greeted her with a soft “hello”, and passed a pouch of mora to the clerk before grabbing your wrapped goods and taking a few steps away from the stall with Yanfei,

“Now, what do I owe the pleasure?” you asked, a teasing tilt in your tone,

“Nothing really, I was just passing by with a client” she gestured to the jittery woman behind her, “and I saw you, so I thought I would come to say hi!” The joyful tone she always had when talking to you never failed to pull a smile at your cheeks,

“Well, I was finishing up with groceries, woul—”

“—would you like to join me?” You both looked at each other, bursting into a small fit of giggles,

“Sure, let’s go see you work your magic” You two walked off side by side, resuming her previous route while her client still trailed behind,

“Y’know it’s actually not magic. Simply by taking advantage of different legal codes and regulations all sorts of problems within the populous of Liyue can be solved…”

You listened to her drone on about different principles and laws, intertwining your hand with hers and lighting swinging them between the two of you as you walked.

Yanfei can hardly keep herself occupied at home, always itching to go out and explore

You once told her that she’s hunting for problems and that maybe the powers of justice in Liyue could last a day without her, but she just laughed and reminded you about that one time you had jokingly called her the justice powers in Liyue

However, you have found her sat at a desk in your home, head resting on the pages of her book as she soundly slept

With a warm cup of tea held in your hands and a blanket draped over your arm, you made your way into the room she was residing in. Slowly creaking open the door, you saw her hunched over the desk. Shaking your head lightly you quietly spoke up,

“I’ve tried telling you before if you keep reading so much that close in the dark you’ll hurt your eyes—” getting closer to her form, you noticed her deep, slow breathing and relaxed features.

Setting the cup of tea down on the desk, you unfolded the blanket and tucked it over her shoulders. Leaning down and pressing a sweet kiss to her head, you tucked some hair away from her face,

“You’re always working yourself to the bone… I’ll do my best to make sure you take more breaks in the future…” You whispered, fondly watching her lightly twitch in her sleep.

Turning off the desk lamp, the only source illuminating the room, you turned and made your way out. Taking one last glance inside at your sleeping girlfriend, you quietly shut the door behind you. Once you were gone, a small smile spread on Yanfei’s face, a hand pulling the blanket tighter around her.

It’s the woman’s birthday and I have Ningguang brain rot today.

How do you think Ningguang would react to her poor S/O (the one from my request way back when) who likes to gift her handmade things. Either jewelry, little things to decorate her desk, whatever you want.

Ooooooooooh my. This woman would treasure the things you give her so much.

Though she’s always insisted that she doesn’t need anything in return for the gifts she gives you, the fact that you spent your time making the little handmade trinkets you’re presenting her with warms her heart. One’s time is a valuable thing, she knows that well.

They’re also made with love, and she can see you’re proud of them. (And they’re made specially just for her)

She loves your little gifts so much, she would much rather have the things you make her than the expensive things from people trying to curry favor.

Gifts had lost their meaning before she met you. They became empty, a reminder that everyone seemed to think of her as a petty politician whose good opinion could simply be bought. They were almost insulting, but not with you.

Your gifts were given purely to see her smile, because you loved her and wanted to show it.

Ayaka Realizing She May Have A Crush On The Traveler/Reader: (Headcanons)

WARNING: MAJOR MAJOR SPOILERS FOR AYAKA'S STORY QUEST!! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNING!!

As Ayaka begins to slowly make her way back to the Kamisato Estate, she couldn't help but smile a little as she thinks just how wonderful her day had been. Though the two of you had spent a simple day together, Ayaka still marveled at how many precious memories the two of you had managed to make together in such a short amount of time

While she had often imagined what it would be like to experience a festival in person, she knew it would never be possible for someone like her. Both Ayaka herself and the Kamisato name were far too well known to allow for such unruly public conduct. It wouldn't be proper etiquette for someone of her social standing to walk around and enjoy the festival as though she were just some ordinary girl and not the eldest daughter of the Kamisato Clan.

Or at least that's what she thought until she met you. While the day had started out with the two of you simply trying to find her mother's old friend, Ayaka never knew just how many new wonders she would get to experience in just a single day. (A day which seemed to end a bit too quickly for her liking).

From eating pizza together, to telling each other your fortunes as the festival came to an end, it had been a very long time since she had last felt so free; and it had been largely thanks to your company that made the day so enjoyably memorable.

As the moon began to slowly reach its peak, and the two of you said your goodbyes before going your separate ways, Ayaka comes to an immediate halt when she hears you softy humming the music she sang when she graced you with her impromptu dance. And for what feels like the millionth time that day, Ayaka once again attempts to stop her heart from beating so quickly as the moments with you seemed to replay endless as she walks home.

Your smile as the two of you began eating together at Kiminami Restaurant and how you showed Anna the recipe for pizza without ever wanting or expecting a reward in return. How the two of you fought together against the thevies who stole from the International Trade Association. How you were there for her when she read her mother's journal and how you reassured her that her desire to be seen as simply "Ayaka" rather then "Ayaka the Shirasagi Himegimi " wasn't selfish or irresponsible.

As Ayaka stopped to glaze up at the moon, she realized she wanted to see you again. She wanted to experience what life was like by your side. She wanted to see the festivals of other lands and taste the foods they make, to tell you of her true feelings and to share her burdens with you and to offer you the same comfort in return.

It was the first time she had ever felt this way so she couldn't help but feel a mixture of excitement and trepidation. Perhaps it would be best to simply start small and invite you to Komore Teahouse for some tea and hotpot should you be willing

jean loves to cuddle. she kind of sees it as a stress reliever. she loves to rest her head on your chest and listen to your heartbeat as you absentmindedly play with her hair, taking it out of the tight ponytail she always keeps it in. it’s therapeutic, almost, and it always helps her fall asleep much quicker.

m — mornings (what are mornings with them like?)

jean usually wakes up very early, so it’s rare that you get a chance to see her before she starts her day. she’ll usually use the extra minutes before getting out of bed to look at your sleeping figure next to her with a small smile on her face. if you do wake up, though, she’ll softly tell you to go back to bed before kissing your forehead.

f — fight (how would they react to getting into an argument with you?)

she would hate it, and after calming herself down, would talk it out with you. she can’t stand the thought of you being mad at her, so she’ll solve things quickly.

k — kisses (what are their kisses like? where do they like to kiss?

her kisses are slow and gentle. this poor girl is so tired when she finally gets to see you, she only has enough energy to give you a kiss. besides your lips, of course, she loves to kiss your cheek or kiss your fingers while holding onto your hand.

she enjoys it, but it took her some time to get used to it. she likes to be held. she likes that for once, she feels taken care of. it’s just enough to help her get her mind off of the things plaguing her mind.

you’ve never woken up before her. she doesn’t exactly sleep the best, so she wakes up extremely early every morning. if you’re lucky, you’ll get to see her before she leaves for the day, but that’s rare. and if you do, she’ll just say a quiet “good morning. have a good day.”

f — fight (how would they react to getting into an argument with you?)

she has no time for it. even if she wants to, she’ll never get mad at you. she has enough things to worry about as it is, so she just hopes you’ll be able to patch things with her easily.

k — kisses (what are their kisses like? where do they like to kiss?

she makes every kiss with her feel like it’s the last. they’re always passionate, loving. she always kisses your lips.

ganyu

c — cuddles (do they like to cuddle? how do they cuddle?

she loves cuddling even if it makes her flustered. if it’s you holding her or her holding you, she loves it. but her favorite way to cuddle is to lay on your chest as you lazily play with her hair.

m — mornings (what are mornings with them like?)

it’s so hard to wake up with her — it’s difficult to get out of bed when it’s so warm and you get to see ganyu looking back at you with sleepy eyes. you don’t get out of bed until she finally realizes that she needs to start her day and quickly jumps out of bed.

f — fight (how would they react to getting into an argument with you?)

fights are practically nonexistent, but if any disagreements happen, she’ll patch it up immediately because knowing that you’re upset with her or vice versa distracts her, leaving her unable to focus on anything which is a huge problem for ganyu, especially when all she wants to do is get home to you.

k — kisses (what are their kisses like? where do they like to kiss?

ganyu’s kisses are gentle, soft, and shy. she moves so slowly that one might think she’s unsure of what she’s doing, but that isn’t it at all. she’s just savoring the moment because it’s so rare to get a lot of time alone with you.

“come here!” she laughs at you, a hand outstretched in your direction. her eyes sparkle and she has the brightest smile adorning her face. she looks so happy, so carefree and you can’t help but smile too. you take her hand and she tugs you with her.

she’s always been so lively, so bright, even her own creations seeming dull around her. she was always the shiniest of them all, the prettiest.

you look at the way she laughs with children and the way they stare at her, toothy smiles and messy hair. she’s talking with almost everyone and the way they seem to lit up for a mere second when she chats with them is mesmerizing. she never stops walking though, seemingly still leading you somewhere. she wasn’t called the queen of the summer festival for nothing, you briefly think.

“where are we going?” you ask, holding her hand harder. you were afraid of loosing her in the crowd.

“to see the fireworks!” she answers, turning her head to you, “i worked extra hard on these ones!” she adds, pausing her walk. you two were standing somewhere higher than the rest of the people, the city blinking under you.

“you always say that,” you say teasingly. you know that it’s true though — somehow, she always topped herself, her fireworks performances getting better and better each time.

it’s just that... even though fireworks are fleeting, their blaze and warmth lives in people's hearts forever, she would say every time. and every time you looked at her with so much love and adoration that she shielded away from you, hiding her head in her hands.

“look!” she screams with excitement, pointing with the hand that was still holding onto yours into the sky.

you turn your head from her and look up. everything’s lit up with so much colors, so much sound and it’s just so much like her. you feel as if your breath is taken away, the same way it is each time when you look at her.

if you looked at her again you would see that even with all the fireworks around you, she was looking at you. and all she could think about was the fact that your eyes shined brighter than any of them she ever created.

➵ notes: self-indulgent drabble that has been in my drafts for a while;; I haven't written angst in a while, so I hope it's an enjoyable read!

"Being an astrologist such as I, I can see glimpses of the future." With a gentle sigh, Mona traced circular patterns on your palm, humming a familiar tune whenever you wake from your nightmares.

"Really, now?" You asked with intrigue, moving closer to envelop yourself in her warmth and comfort. The vast topic of her abilities was still confusing, for you weren’t blessed with a vision nor a magical ability. Nevertheless, you’ve shown great interest in her works ever since she has decided to teach the basics.

Running your hands through her hair, you’ve always admired how soft it was. “Maybe you can ask the stars how to manage your financial situation.” You teased, nudging her shoulder as Mona feigned an offended gasp.

“Oh hush, you! Astrology shouldn’t be used for minor things like that. Misusing the guidance of the stars can bring great misfortune to its user, and it shouldn’t be taken lightly.” She scolds, then flicking your forehead with her index finger.

“Ouch, that hurts.” You complained, only gaining a giggle as a response.

“I think you deserved it.” Mona teases before running her hands through your hair. It takes a while before she speaks again. "Sometimes, I can see things that'd make you smile, or the numerous ways that can ruin a day, if I truly wished to, of course."

With a yawn, you stretched your arms before slumping over her figure, smiling. "That sounds like a lot of fun." The atmosphere settled into a comfortable silence. Moments such as these were rare since your lover spent most of her time knee-deep in her studies; always searching treatments for ailments and illnesses yet being unable to get the answers that she wanted. You didn’t blame her, though, you know she was only trying her best.

“..Do you see us staying together for a long time, then?”

Mona freezes, turning to look at you as she contemplates the question. She can’t bring herself to answer it, she doesn’t want to destroy that tiny glimmer of hope in you. It was a question she had asked the stars, and time and time again, it had remained unanswered.

She couldn’t.

Instead, Mona interlocked her hands with yours and held tightly, as if she was afraid that you could vanish.

Instead of answering, Mona looked at you with eyes brimming with anguish. Maybe, just maybe, if she doesn't speak of it, then maybe it wouldn't come true. Maybe the universe will be kind enough to spare you from your cruel fate.

It shouldn’t have hurt as much, but it did. You already know what she saw for your future.

“I love you, so much.” She whispered ever so softly, pressing a kiss to your forehead. A promise.

“..I love you too.”

The silence hung heavily in the air, broken only the faint beeping sounds of a heart monitor.
