Regulus was not used to staying at Hogwarts over the Christmas period. He was unsure of the feelings that circled through his foggied mind, and he began to wonder if he was not happier away from them than he was close to them.
All his life he’d sought their approval, and yet it never seemed to be enough for his family. They would accept nothing less than the best, as they would always remind him, which left him slowly coming to terms with his normality, the ordinary that passed by life at his side. What was the use in wishing to be more than he could ever be? The false sense of superiority the Noble House of Black gripped with such fervour led them to believe they were entitled to greatness, owed some sort of reward for circumstances in which they had no control over. But he did not believe in such falsities.
Regulus was tired. His skin was dry and stretched from trying to make way for a new person to inhabit it, someone far more impressive than he was or would ever be. But it was his skin, his heart and his brain, and he was done giving it up to a version of him that would never be worthy of it.
As he walked through the halls of the school he’d finally accepted as home, he smiled softly to himself in the new found tranquillity he had granted himself to enjoy. Occasionally, a professor would greet him in the halls with a small look of pity, unbeknownst to his gratitude for being allowed to stay. There were not many students however, at least none that he recognised, but he was not so afflicted by this, for he had now the time to get to know himself for who he really was.
He thought this learning was to commence over dinner, but it seemed that was not to be the case. He was accompanied by another in his year who had smiled brightly upon seeing a familiar face in the Great Hall. He was not disappointed to have company, as he thought he might have been, and he waved them over silently.
You didn’t know Regulus well, but you knew him well enough not to be confused by his offer. In the few lessons you shared together, you were often given seats in close proximity and had the pleasure of exchanging conversation with one another, even eliciting laughs from each other that needed to be stifled in the company of your professors. Sitting down beside him, you smiled warmly and asked him why he was not to go home this year. Regulus answered truthfully–his parents did not wish for his presence–he almost said it with pride.
“That’s terrible, I’m sorry,” you said with a frown, wondering what sort of parents would say that to their own child.
“I’m not,” he said earnestly, which made the prospect a little less sorrowful.
“Can you believe Christmas has come so quickly? I can hardly stand it,” you laughed, taking bits and pieces from the middle of the table for your plate.
“It came around fast,” he agreed, “But I like this time of year, so I don’t mind.”
“Oh, it’s not that I don’t like it, it’s just a horrid reminder of time. I always feel as if I’ve done nothing all year when it gets to Christmas,” you confessed with a smile, though you were telling a truth that weighed heavier than you cared to admit.
“I think there’s too much pressure on what we should do and in what amount of time. Even if you only read a book you wanted to this year, or perfected a recipe, or climbed Mount Everest, they’re all achievements. Yours and mine shouldn’t be measured against each other,” Regulus shook his head, dissecting and burning his parents' logic.
“Well,” you scoffed, “I guess you’re right, I’ll try to look at it that way,” you promised, believing you would strive to keep that promise.
Over the next week, you and Regulus ran into each other more often than not, and soon it became purposeful. You’d meet in the library and check out your favourite books together, go on walks in the rain and sleet, hoping for snow to purify the grounds and wipe the slate clean for new mistakes to tarnish. He was especially hard not to admire when his face was reddened by the harsh wind, and the wooly hat he wore only half way down his ears. Even by the fire, there was something about the way the warm light thinned his face and made his features sharper, yet he still looked youthful and good-natured.
“It’s a shame we didn’t know each other before, I would have bought you a present,” you said softly on Christmas Eve night.
Regulus turned his head to you and smiled at the sentiment and your honesty. He never felt as if the things you said were empty, on the contrary, they were full of genuity and truth, something of which he must learn to become accustomed. Sometimes, he forgot you weren’t saying things just to say them, and often looked back at his responses with a grimace. It was nature he had learned to take every syllable with far more than a grain of salt.
“I would have gotten something for you too,” he replied, “But I’m glad I’m spending Christmas with you, I think it will be the nicest one I’ve had in a while,” he confessed, twisting his body on the sofa and lying back across your lap.
“I’m glad I get to be a part of it,” you grinned, playing with the curls in his hair, twisting them around your finger and untangling them.
Regulus’ eyes closed as he enjoyed the sensation your hands in his hair brought; it was gentle and innocent, and it made his pulse race for miles in search of something he thought only you might be able to give him. He sighed heavily, but not from exhaustion or frustration, but from the serenity in which he found himself. Though he loathed losing the feeling of your fingers tracing his locks of hair, after a few minutes, he sat up and faced you with eyes wide open. He wanted to memorise each curve and dip of your face, how the light softened it, gave it beauty which he thought not possible.
“I wish you had been part of it sooner,” he breathed unevenly, cupping your cheeks with both hands so that he might rub his thumbs across your skin, a connection of which he had only dreamt.
It was your turn now to close your eyes, perhaps out of fear. But whatever the reason, you focussed on the pads of his thumbs rubbing across your cheeks and how the palms of his hands rested over your jawline. You daren’t open your eyes, in case Regulus saw something in them that made him turn away–they often betrayed you. Instead, you placed a hand on his chest as your breath revealed small trembles, though it did not deter him, for in his breath you could hear the same. And like in a dream, his lips met yours in a delicate embrace that was sure to shatter if faced with interruption. His lips were soft, tentative, but they grew braver with the feeling of your reciprocation.
And soon, it was as if you were the oldest lovers, who had naught left to explore of each other and yet still managed to find something new and igniting. Your hands were in his hair and his were trailing down your back, up your arms and over your face, desperate to remember what it all felt like when he inevitably pulled away. When you finally came up for air, his brows were still furrowed, but upon opening his eyes, his features softened when met with yours.
“Wow,” you whispered breathlessly, drawing a laugh from Regulus, a sweeter sound than you could have imagined.
“I don’t know what to say,” he admitted after a moment, still hazy from the embrace.
“Speechless? I’ll take it,” you teased, pecking his lips before nuzzling into him.
“I’ll come up with something,” he remarked, resituating himself so you were both more comfortable, letting his arm fall over your shoulder to keep you close.
“Eventually,” you laughed, and so did he.
Snowflake Kisses
(OotP)Harry James Potter x Gn! Reader
Fortunately fluff, very soft, kisses, Harry’s a bit stressed but aren’t we all, they keep interrupting each other, HAPEE BIRTHDAY HAZZA
A/n: jkr i know you created my fictional home but you’re an asshat. A cool writer but still an asshat.
<[y/n] pov>
Harry lay facedown on the common room couch, grumbling under his breath about ‘something something Umbitch something something die.’
You raised your eyebrows and padded over, lifting up his legs from the cushions before you sat down.
“Alright love, I don’t play competitively, but they don’t call me a good beater for nothing. Who’s ass do I need to kick?”
Harry turned over suddenly and gave you a pleasing look.
“Hug me, please.”
You smiled softly, pulling him into your lap and wrapping an arm around his waist. He sighed into your shoulder, and began to spill.
“No one wants to listen to me, [y/n]! Everyone thinks that I killed Cedric, I’ve practically landed myself in detention for the rest of term, and GOD all I want to do is shove Umbridge’s vomit pink stilettos up her-”
You interrupted, “Hey, hey, not everyone doesn’t believe you. I do, Hermione does, and Ron too. We love you, Harry, don’t forget it. Although- I do love you a bit more because honestly, I’d cheer you on when the time comes to shove those vomit pink heels up Umbridge’s-”
You felt a soft pair of lips against your own, and you grinned slightly into the kiss. Harry pulled away, smiling and blushing madly. A lightbulb went off in your head.
<harry pov>
“Close your eyes, Harry,” you said softly.
He did so, and felt a spattering of snowflakes on his face, one on each side, another on the nose.
Three
“Two for cheek, one for nosiness.” He then felt another two on his eyelids.
Two
“I could look in your eyes allllll day. And…”
One
You held the kiss for a few seconds, savoring the intimacy between the two of you.
“I could kiss you all day too and we both know you wouldn’t complain,” you joked,“But, uhhhh- no kissy for your scar, cuz I’m in love with Harry James Potter, not whoever the cHosEn oNe is. Although… it is a nice added bonus…”
He gasped dramatically, and smacked your forehead.
“Unbelievable, [y/n], unbelievable!”

Paring: Regulus Black X Wife!Gryffindor!Reader
Summary: Everything crashes within seconds and Sirius doesn’t know where to go.
Everything went downhill so fucking fast. How was that even possible? Everything was perfectly fine a year ago, but it seems that within that year, everything had collapsed onto the helpless boy. It was like being beneath a crumbling concrete tower that fell with no warning. Like being slapped in the face unexpectedly. Like getting doused in freezing water on a Sunday morning.
In retrospect, it sucked.

Omg I loved this so much ahh,so much butterflies and so well written, thank you so much
Warnings:spelling errors maybe? Allusions to sex(nothing explicit) and fluff.

Summary: Before the eternals broke up and went their separate ways y/n and Druig dated in secret went they all meet again after centuries that romance is rekindled.
My stomach seemed to be doing back flips as i watched him inch closer to me our faces so close together i could feel his breath fanning my face, "My beautiful beautiful y/n, did you miss me?" He asked his lips curling into a smirk. I couldn't help but smile god i missed him i missed him so much but I like to indulge in his teasing.
"Only in your dreams baby" i quipped, he opened his mouth about to say something probably equally as witty when we were so rudely interrupted by Phastos and Kingo.
" What the hell is this"
"Yeah is this new because i absolutely hate it"
"You're telling me you didn't know they were messing around back in the day?" Sersi added laughing softly.
Kingo and Phastos shared a look and Druig stepped away from me as we both moved to stare at Sersi "What?" I asked surprised i mean she is right but i swear Druig and I were quiet and secretive when it came to our relationship.
"Yeah you guys aren't exactly good at keeping secrets" Ikaris said causing Druig to roll his eyes, a reaction that only Ikaris manages to evoke.
"You know what let's start a fire and gather for sprite's story like we did for old times sake hmm" Ajak says sensing the tension in the room she is our mother in a sense i have always thought of her as my mother, kind, nurturing loving always doing what was best for us.
"Ajak is right let's do that yes!" I say clapping my hands glad to get out from under the surprised stares of everyone trying to put pieces together.
We sat around the fire the air was cool and everything was peaceful as Sprite began her tales.
"Are you cold love?" I hear Druig's raspy voice in my ear.
I wasn't cold really I'm an eternal i can handle cold but i wanted him close and i wanted to feel him again. I smiled "Yes" he got closer to me taking off his jacket to drape over me pulling me into him. I looked up at him for a moment and he looked down at me our tension could be cut with a knife. Our faces so close our lips almost brush i looked at his lips and before i could lean in i heard the sound of coughing.
"Seriously? We are right here get a room please" Phastos' voice boomed interrupting my train of thought Druig and I pulled away from each other my cheeks flushing as i looked around to the others
"I really don't like this" Kingo said making everyone laugh.

Shared secrets, sweaters, and sweet liquor (1.6k)
summary: autumn arrives at hogwarts, regulus and reader make the most of their final year there by sharing sweaters, secrets, and sweet liquor.
warnings: drinking
pairing: regulus black x fem!reader
a/n: managed to write this because i had a really empty day today!! Hope you enjoy it, likes n reblogs r appreciated xxx
You set down the fork after taking the last piece of pie on your plate. In front of you sat Regulus Black with a toothless grin, a grin that's been on his face since the beginning of the feast. You couldn't help but light up at the thought of another of his mischievous endeavors.
"What is it, Black? You've been grinning since this feast started. Got something good on your mind?"
He only chuckled a little, pushing his plate in front of him to signal that he was done eating. "Later, after we finish.' He waved off, "Wait for me in the common room an hour after curfew."
Your cheeks grew warmer as you bit your lips and stared at him. His dark hair resting neatly on his forehead and his cheeks growing warmer himself.
It felt so easy with Regulus, and you wanted to keep doing this over and over again. The past seven years in Hogwarts running through your mind. Nostalgia peering around the corner as you replay the memories of you two, it had been so many wonderful years with him.
—
It was later at night did your friends greet you goodbye, retiring to their own dorms as you stayed put in front of the fireplace. Regulus should be there any minute now, he'd promised to come down later after his dorm mates had gone to sleep.
You spent a few minutes there alone only curling up with your blanket, tucking your socked feet to the corner of the small loveseat.
A quiet patter of footsteps caught your ear then, smiling as you turned your head behind and saw Regulus with a sweater in his hands. "Sorry, Barty was cleaning up a little late." He offered a pity smile as he walked closer to you and dropped his body on the leather loveseat.
"No problem at all.' You smiled shyly as his thigh touched your feet. You took it as a sign to move your leg and make space for him. Your legs ended up propped on the small table in front of you. 'So, what was so exciting you wanted me here alone?"
Regulus hummed a quick tune, moving closer to you and mirroring your position as well. "Remember the party my parents had last summer? The time I went back home." You nodded at him, eyes never leaving his face.
"Oh yes. I highly remember your annoying letters waiting for me in my dorm." You recalled the memory to your brain. It felt so long ago, the time where Regulus sent you countless letters. Miss you, it contained—you flushed slightly at his sign off. But most of the letters were him complaining about the new robes his parents got for him, and of the girls he had to charm his way for marriage. Oh, you turned green just a little at that part of the letter.
"Well it turned out that there was something good that came of it after all." He grinned even wider. Now his hands went to the sweater and lifted a part of it to reveal a medium sized bottle of liquor.
"No!" You laughed with surprise, Regulus quickly shushing you with a panicked expression. "No!' The words turning to a whisper 'How? I thought the cabinet was so well guarded." You let our a surprised chuckle and he just shook his head.
"Well it was. But I managed to figure out the spell to open it." Regulus quickly handed the bottle over to you, leaned back casually and watched as you uncapped the cap.
"Oh Reg, you just made this night so much better. And here I was thinking you just couldn't wait to spend time with me."
He chuckled, "I can never wait to spend time with you Y/n. You know that." Both of you flushed at the same time the words were out of his mouth.
Your laugh came out nervously as you bought the bottle close to your lips and took a long sip. Then you handed the bottle over to Regulus and pointed to the sweater, "This for me?" You asked as he took a sip of the sweet liquor.
"Oh yeah, I know how cold you get what we stay here at night." He said so casually. So fucking casually. And yet those words meant so much to you. It meant that he knew you so well— of course he did. You spent the last seven years being glued to each other.
But it was different. Regulus thought of you; thought of how you wore so many layers and warm up in front of the fireplace but still get so cold. It was as if someone had tattooed it inside his brain permanently. He knew you. And you knew him. And you loved him for it, you've always loved him so hard for it.
—
It didn't take long for the bottle to quickly run out of content. At this point you were already laughing loudly and Regulus was rushing to your side, finger to your lips and voice in a whisper "Yn, Y/n. Be quiet, Merlin. Someone will catch us here." He said so seriously.
Regulus had changed his position, his upper body now placed atop your legs. You welcomed him with open arms, loving the weight of his body on you. You laughed again as your hands came to fluff up his dark hair. Once neat was already so mussed up. But you thought he looked so pretty that way. So pretty if he let everyone see how he acted around you.
One second you were silent, then you were both laughing at each other. Then he was shifting his body, slotting his body between your legs. His face upturned so that it was near yours, and you leaned down to him; not seeming to get enough of his beautiful grey eyes. Your faces so close, cheeks so flushed, tears even nearly escaping at the amount of laughter you've both let out.
"How— how strong is this stuff, Reg?" You hiccup, covering your mouth as your cheeks flush again with embarrassment.
He shrugged while a chortle could be heard, "I don't really know Y/n, I think it may be stronger than— than I thought." He laughed immediately after. "Oh Merlin, this will hurt tomorrow."
You snickered at him, the soft plane of your palm cupping his cheek. "Really? I wouldn't know, I've never been this drunk." Regulus pushed his face closer to your hand. He loved the feeling of your hands on his face, your fingertips caressing his cheeks lightly. He tried to hold in the urge to close the distance between you two and just plant his lips on yours.
"I'll take care of you." He whispers so softly you wouldn't have heard it if the laughter wasn't suppressed. "Al—' he hiccups, 'always."
You've never been this red before, cheeks so warm. His words made all the butterflies swarm in your pit. You lift your palm from the place it held on his cheek to swipe the hair that had flopped down to his forehead now.
"Can I share a secret with you?" You asked with your voice so low. Regulus thought right then that it was his time to die. He'd die after hearing how soft your voice was, how gentle and how lovely you looked right now.
Regulus was suddenly hyper aware of how good you looked in his giant sweater, the ends met your thigh and the sleeves touched your fingertips. It looked so big on you, it did on him too because of how lanky he was built. But he thought that you looked so much better than him in that sweater.
He blanked out for a while until you tapped his head, "Reg, you there?" He nods once and you clear your throat.
"Alright. Here goes … uh— I actually …' you took a small breath and pushed more black hair behind his ear. "I'm actually crazy for you."
Regulus looked up, eyes wide. Your heart was pounding as he opened his mouth and shut it again, not sure what to say. "It would be nice if you said something, you know?" You say playfully. All while he was still staring at you, not believing his ears for one second.
"I— you …" He stuttered out, you thought it was adorable how red and wide eyed he became at your words. Another laugh escaped your lips and he was undone. "Y/n …, I've been— Well I've been trying to figure out how to say that to you since we've met, you know that?" He says so easily, occasionally hiccups and trampling over his words. "And I'm so glad, I mean so glad you said that because I— Merlin I …"
Your hands stopped messing with his hair and instead cupped his cheeks. You leaned your face down, hair spilling over your head and grazing Regulus' forehead. You were positioned a head above him so you could see his face clearly now.
"Would it just be easier if I just kissed you?"
Regulus flushed, cleared his throat and then, "Please."
You closed the gap between the two of you almost immediately. The room felt so hot now that you were so close to him, so warm against him. Your lips moved in sync, both dancing and breathing each other's scent at the same time.
Your hands were all over his hair, never seeming to get enough of the black kinks. He smiles in the middle of the kiss, his heart leaping just a little when you pull back for a huff of air.
