Women for whom college is not an option end up in service jobs, earning a wage supplemented by tips, which ties their earnings directly to their likeability*. College is no longer a clear benefit for women, but more a preventative measure. *women in the US are more ‘likeable’ if they are young, pretty, white or lighter-skinned, and a native English speaker with a neutral accent. #education #studentdebt #servicework #feminism #whitefeminismhasitslimitations
