"Me," She Purrs In Agreement, And In A Fit Of Mischief, She Stands Once More And Stalks Closer To The

"Me," she purrs in agreement, and in a fit of mischief, she stands once more and stalks closer to the wandering fey whose dashing rescue had featured in countless daydreams and wet dreams as well. A slow languid smile graces her lips as she moves, movements feline and predatorial as she approaches the woman she owes a life debt to. Carefully, gently, she raises her hand to place a single finger beneath the other's chin and raises her head just enough so that she can meet her eyes. There is still something ancient and predatory within her eyes— it belongs there after her confirmation as Chancellor and she will not get rid of it — but there is warmth as well, as recognition flickers once more and she finally gets the privilege of drinking in the delicate features adorning the other's face. "I did not get the honor of admiring your beauty, back when you saved me, but now that I have? I can say without a doubt that there was no better high elf to play the role of dashing saviour."

There is something playful to her tone as she speaks, breath fanning over the others cheekbones as she memorizes the depth of her eyes. Then and only then, Robin steps back, breaking the electrifying tension between the two of them as she sits on the edge of her desk and places her hands to her sides.

"Of course I remember, darling. I owe you a life debt, and I am not one to forget that," she informs her, amusement clear even as she makes herself as transparent as possible. "I assume you have a request, if you asked me here in the middle of festivities. In honor to the aforementioned life debt, as long as it is on my hands and it will bring no harm to my people, I will consider fulfilling it."

"Me," She Purrs In Agreement, And In A Fit Of Mischief, She Stands Once More And Stalks Closer To The

Thank the Gods the Chancellor was understanding, hopefully as welcoming as the Lunar Chancellor had been to her sibling. But her train of thought abruptly derailed as the cadence of the woman's voice finally hit Hesperia and filled her with a sense of familiarity. Hesperia looked up, straightening slowly as the Chancellor gestured for her to stand. But her eyes and her concentration centered on the familiarity of her face, no longer obscured so much by the dark and gloom of the Otherworld.

It was a fleeting moment, one of darkness and chaos that had enveloped them both. Hesperia was practiced in evasion and hiding, an expert in caring for herself and for her sibling in the worst parts of the Otherworld. There were moments, however, when the path was made clear to her and she knew it would be a particularly difficult one. The Tranquil would be left bound, silent and hidden in a place Hesperia that picked out and enchanted for brief periods of time while the autumn fey went on to scout the trail. Monsters would be dispatched or their presense noted so she could avoid them with her sibling. On one of those very scouting nights she remembered the sensation of nearby fey magic, something she hadn't felt in so long. Hesperia avoided confrontation with the creatures of the Otherworld, if only because she was often not strong enough to dispatch them on her own. So she knew how to evade them but clearly this other fey hadn't been so knowing or so lucky. Hesperia remembered following the trail of bodies left behind of other creatures when finally the sight of her fellow fey came to view, a noble exhausted to the end of her energy by the creatures that had kept finding her.

"You," she blurts out before she could stop herself. What happened to her decorum? Far too long spent away from the Court of the fey. Hesperia's gaze falters with embarrassment from the outburst before she looks back up at Chancellor Robin. "I- I've seen you once, Chancellor. I don't know if you remember... The circumstances weren't ideal."

He is steadfast in his duties as Guardian, protecting life within the forest while ensuring that the other eladrin can continue to feel at home. Zahrya watches and nurtures and does his best to not interfere with the others’ plans for the realm. For now. Still, he’s simultaneously grown restless within the forest and less inclined to leave it. He’s desperate for company, so much so that he’s able to look beyond the wall he’s wanted to keep between him and Robin. “This forest was created in our likeness and I am the most breathtaking of us all. It makes sense,” he agrees as he approaches, still just as susceptible to flattery as ever. “Though don’t think I’ll let the quality of the other sections drop. I observe and care for all within the forest. One day Her Majesty will visit and everything must be perfect for her. A forest teeming with life and laughter is the bare minimum of what she deserves.”

“Now that I must respectfully disagree,” Robin begins to say, tone softly teasing and careful. She knows her new position has changed how Zahrya sees her, knows that there is a distance now that had not been there back in Halloween, and yet, she cannot change the facts, cannot change what has happened. If he is to repudiate whatever friendship she offers, he will do so knowing her truly, not a mask she creates to please him above all. After Fen’harel, the Fall Court cannot afford any more lies, not if they want to recover from the betrayal that has not stopped stinging to this day. “I find myself quite breathtaking, and I assume Aurora and Laer believe the same of themselves too. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and so on. That does not detract of the beauty, however, this is truly a piece of the Courts found within the mortal realm.”

She listens to his words and nods in understanding once he is done.

“I would never think that, I am aware and thankful for your commitment to your duties,” she comments, failing to mention the concern she had brought up during Halloween. “I know Her Majesty will appreciate your work.”

            But the specific community she’s discussing are the halfbloods. Granted, most of them probably wouldn’t want nothing to do with her after the transition, however Èdelie still stands proud as formerly being one. She adores their relatively small bond. What she didn’t like while being a halfblood is the constant confusion as to what to do and what not to do, or who she’s allowed to discuss her abilities with. There was no embracement; all that she’s known was self-taught or incorporated after the rarity of meeting one or two halfbloods throughout her lifetime. While thankful an obvious change is occurring, it shouldn’t take now for others to realize the detrimental harm embedded in past mistreatment of halfbloods. “I’m glad you’re able to acknowledge inclusivity is needed. It would’ve meant a lot to me had I still been one of them.” She doesn’t want anyone to think her fight for halfbloods equates to dissatisfaction as a fey, either. Losing former weapons such as sharing the tongue of animals may have been unfortunate, but taking the time to not only relearn that but the realm of feys has been treasurable. Èdelie doesn’t take of this for granted, using her free handle to fiddle with chocolate locks as her chewing slowed.

                 “I mean, hey,” Èdelie began to advise, serene at this point. “It doesn’t hurt to try. There’ll be no issue if clear communication is put in tact; age doesn’t really affect the matter at hand.” If halfbloods choose not to mingle with feys tonight, needless to say… Èdelie wouldn’t be surprised nor fault them considering the lengthy hassle to gain representation.

“Darling, I have a PhD in Governance from an American university. Equity and inclusion might not be a part of the curriculum exactly, but I wasn’t discouraged from taking the classes or doing my own research, I have seen the data.” And what data. The studies had not accounted for supernatural differences, of course, but it was a rather fascinating thought exercise to extrapolate from one to the other. Of course, she couldn’t make a one by one comparison, and there is many psychological differences based around immortality and the like, but there is no denying that diversity of thought lead to innovation. Romulus, the Tinkerer, many others embodied this realization, and supported her conclusions. Now, if only prejudices could be overcome. Sadly pettiness is rather common both amongst her kind and other species. Perhaps something to do with having so much power on their hands. Who knew? “It is kind of you to still think of halfblooded even now, not many else would have done it if they were in your place.”

“And try I will to talk to the halfblooded, I can promise that much,” she finally relents with a nod. She can do that much, after so many years away from the walls of Rome. “And to talk to those who are older, and yet, I cannot quite agree with you. Many of the older generation are rather adamantly against mortals and halfblooded alike.”

Who? @meryasek Where? In Front Of The Embassy Vendor

"I am guessing it would poor taste to start humming to the tone of 'What'd I Miss' from Hamilton, right? Or would you like for me to serenade you? I do have excellent vocal skills," the question leaves her as she swipes a drink from one of the attendants and slips next to Mery. As far as she had gathered she had missed a lot, which is rather infuriating as she had left a mere five months. At least this time there was no attack of the Eye imminent. She hoped. "Do you want me to regale you with how many animals adopted me this time, instead?"

"Want To Try Drinking Me Under The Table, Honey?" She Asks Between Laughs, Looking Down At The Falling

"Want to try drinking me under the table, honey?" She asks between laughs, looking down at the falling their comrade-at-drinking and sending his future hangover her best wishes. That is going to hurt, if everything she had heard about mortal hangovers is true. "I do warn you, as an eladrin I don't get drunk easily with mortal liquor. But if you are offering, I will take a mojito or seven."

@senatusstartersLocation: Halloween Party

@senatusstartersLocation: Halloween Party

“Let’s fucking go! That’s how you drink someone under the table.” Anders was laughing now, having won all of his own personal drinking contests. But his friend, or maybe they were just strangers, had just won and sent the other lycan tumbling to the ground, unable to continue drinking. “This round is on me. We drink until we fuck, then we die. That is all to life. So – keep drinking. What do you want now?”

          He’d not been privy to the mysticism of the Otherworld before, had been prepared for it by The Eye’s admissions, but the Archer had never seen it firsthand. He’d not know, inherently, if this was some infernal place disguised as the realm, but it certainly felt embedded with irrefutable malfeasance, a suffocating miasma of death which clouded the two. “So, the Otherworld wouldn’t be so littered with bodies, yeah?” It sounds like a cold and calloused inquiry and Wade’s expression is grim as he looks down upon the soulless cadavers that litter the woodsy floor. Though he’s a bit hopeless in the brains department in lieu of any brawn, Wade peers around the shadowy realm, nods at Robin in finality, “Well, even if it’s a fake place parading around as the Otherworld, it’ll have to mirror it, then. Wouldn’t you know of some exit in the real place?” An unrealistic solution but they’d have to try.

....

Wadecalhoun:

“Not quite, it’s inhabitants would have eaten them before long,” Robin says as she observes the bodies more closely with narrowed eyes. She had traveled the area around the Courts enough times to know that the Otherworld was a dangerous place, but one in which predators did not falter when it came to devouring their prey. “The Otherworld is a rather dangerous place, however, so I recommend you keep an eye out as I will likely have a hard time protecting us.” Then, she tilts her head in consideration as she thinks his words through. She has a basic sense of recognition of the area, so she would likely be able to guide them to one of the exists she knows if they are lucky. “Perhaps, and it is worth a shot. I believe there is a exit nearby, but we might have to search for it as I have only been on this area’s counterpart a few times.”

“Ex-boyfriend?” Lain continued to guess, a little smirk on his lips. Not that he would judge her for falling into bed with a hunter, everyone made mistakes after all and Lain himself made plenty. The flirtatious tone of her voice caught him off guard, it was so unexpected.  Reflexively he glanced over his shoulder expecting to see someone else standing behind him, because this type of attention was never aimed at him.  Either hated or ignored, that’s how he skirted along the edge of society. “Well, I can think of plenty of things you could do to me as a thanks, but I’m not sure how professional you’re trying to keep this,” The lycan admitted with a nervous chuckle, meeting her gaze.  Lain stepped closer, gently taking her chin in his hand as he studied her face.  Up close like this it became obvious to Lain why so many mortals always fell for the fae. She was beautiful, in an otherworldly sort of way, alien to this realm. He let out a soft sigh, “You’re too pretty to be trying to hook up with lycans, you know that?  What if I give you fleas?”

image

...

“That would make me as petty as legends describe the fey to be,” Robin says with genuine amusement this time as she quirks her brow as if to invite the lycan to deny it. It’s a common belief, and they are not entirely wrong, for she knows herself and she knows she is petty. There is no denying it, not when she has lived long enough not to have any delusions regarding her personality. “But no, he is not an ex-boyfriend.” Ex-friend, a loved one who had betrayed her, Wade is all those things but as handsome as the lycan before her is, Robin is not one to give too much away to strangers. Not even helpful ones. Not even one with a cute little chuckle of nerves. The poor dear seems surprised, as if she would eat him up and isn’t that darling? There is no need for her to tilt her head back when he steps closer, for they are the same height, and she feels a delighted grin curl on her lips at the juxtaposition between boldness and nerves. “I am perfectly capable of separating work and pleasure, and not one to deny myself if I find someone pretty enough to catch my eye,” she tells him, smile playful and all teeth. “Now, that is my decision isn’t it?” Robin asks tilting her head in inquiry even as she keeps her eyes focused on Lain. “And if fleas were truly a concern, a bath and a cleansing spell would suffice. And there is nothing to say we cannot have fun while wet, is there?”

who? @farenduil where? farenduil's place when? after the autumn solstice

After the answering the call of the Wild, the door before her should mean nothing. It does not lead to an end, nor towards any sort of physical agony of the sort, and yet it is a looming creature she almost does not want to confront. Yet, what sort of Chancellor would she be if she were to allow a mere conversation to scare her off with her tail between her legs? A sigh leaves her lips as she raises her hand to knock on Farenduil's door, a second basket of the Autumn's Harvest floating next to her. With his change, she had not felt it safe for him to be welcomed to the yearly festivities, and yet his lack of presence had been painful. The least she could do is to offer more of the Harvest to ensure he knew that he was still welcomed to peruse the fields, even if they could no longer be his home.

"Do open, Farenduil, we have far too much to discuss," Robin calls through the door, even as she plucks one of the apples from the floating basket and takes a bite for herself. "The longer you take, the more likely the pumpkin spice ice cream tubs are too spoil, too."

"If that is how you feel, there is nothing else to say about it. However, if you ever need my aid in this matter, I will do so freely, as a repayment for the transparency." There is something rotten about having to word their relationship as transactional, but there is a desire to respect Inan's boundaries and they have time to build on the fragile trust he had chosen to extend to her after Fen'harel's betrayal. "I will, yes. I am curious to see what this Count is capable on this matter. You?"

"If That Is How You Feel, There Is Nothing Else To Say About It. However, If You Ever Need My Aid In

"That's not my intention for coming here," Inan was not looking for permission, "I only wanted to be transparent." He thought carefully over his words to follow, elves had to be mindful of such things but whenever Inan spoke it was from the heart. "My brother died long ago, I won't know a drow renowned for terrorizing my people." Even if it hurt to think of Somniar as such, it didn't make the notions any less true. Onto some brighter tidings, Inan had also been meaning to ask, "Will you be attending the party in the mortal realm?"

"That is a relief," she sighs quietly, one hand raising to rub the bridge of her nose as a weight leaves her shoulder's at the admission of Tamlen's continued existence. With the weight gone, it is far easier to feel her exhaustion, the magic well that seemed endless running low. "I sent Inan to seek Aurora out, but I can go meet them and try to find Zahrya so that we are all in one place once you have fetched Tamlen." It's not ideal, to separate while weak and depleted, but it is necessary. And even with her reserves running low, she has been training under Rainer's tutelage for long enough that most of her previous flaws when fighting had been smoothed out. "Or do you have another plan?"

"That Is A Relief," She Sighs Quietly, One Hand Raising To Rub The Bridge Of Her Nose As A Weight Leaves

Laer stood, he hadn't felt this depleted in ages. Was this what mortality felt like? So sad, it made him feel even worse for these creatures. "I felt Tamlen's head get snapped off before he died." Laer rubbed at his jaw, "Fortunately he'll be fine." He placed his hands upon his hips as he gazed out across the city, in the far distance he saw the Pyramid and through his bond he sensed the celestial's presence there. "Already I can feel his magic returning to me and restoring my reserves." Laer looked around and some distance away he saw blue flames and explosions of cold and lightning. "Well," he pointed, "that'd be our Aurora. We'll have to reconvene once I fetch Tamlen, we'll reunited our bodies then." Zahrya had been surprisingly tight.
