@that-greek-mythology-girl so sorry this took so long!!! I've been trying to write it for the past few days now but I could not for the life of me string words together. I hope you like it!!!<3

Penelopes’ POV

There are times over the years where Telemachus keeps to himself. It began when the first suitors arrived, Telemachus was only 10 at the time, and it was so strange to see her lively son go quiet at the sight of the suitors. 

Of course Penelope had taken the young boy aside to ask if the suitors had done anything. However Telemachus was insistent that they had done no harm.

Even still, Penelope began having Telemachus keep near her during the day, and slowly he turned back into his old self. Every once in a while, Telemachus would go quiet once more, Penelope never knew the reasons, anytime she tried to bring it up Telemachus would change the subject immediately. 

Penelope now thinks she should have been more forceful in the topic.

It was during her evening walk around the garden when she found her son watching the ocean from the balcony. Penelope stopped, about to call out to him when she noticed tears streaming down his face. Her heart leapt to her throat, why was he crying?

In a panic, Penelope ran inside, passing the confused and worried servants as she did, ignoring them as they called out to her. 

Once she reached the balcony, Penelope took a breath, Telemachus had made no move to acknowledge her presence. “Are you okay?” She called out, the young man jumped, quickly wiping the tears from his eyes, he turned to her and gave a quick smile and a choked laugh.

“I didn’t see you there…” his voice tapered off at the end, knowing that it was time to tell what has been going through his mind.

Penelope sighed, stepping forward until she stood next to him. The mother son said nothing as they watched the sun set over the horizon, shrinking beneath the waves as another day passes by.

“You know…in those first few years I would come out to this balcony, and watch the sea every night.” Penelope closed her eyes, tears welling up in them, “I would stare for hours, sometimes all night, waiting for his ship to come home.” Penelope felt Telemachus’ hand find its’ way to her shoulder, leaving it there as they missed the man in their minds.

“What was he like?” Telemachus’ question caught her off guard. 

In her entire life, Telemachus has been the only person to ask her that question. Penelope ached to her very bones because of it.

“Your father is a whirlwind of a man…” her breath came out shaky, her palms began to sweat. “He would enter a room, and you could do nothing but give him your attention. He did not command respect, but he was given it all the same.” 

“He is as brave as he is kind…” Penelopes’ voice began to quiver at that. Telemachus wrapped his arms around her, the tears he so desperately tried to hide from her now falling free. 

The two stood that way for a while, long enough for the sky to finish in its darkening. Penelope took in a deep breath, willing herself to be put together, enough at least for her son. Yet no matter how much she tried, the thought of her husband sent Penelope into a wave of tears.

Penelope moved away from Telemachus, enough for her to look him in the eyes. Gently, she reached up and rested her hand against his cheek, the young man leaned into his mothers touch.

“Oh Telemachus… you look more like him everyday.”

Some people are being assholes about 600 strike about the fact Ody only tries now to stab Poseidon

I want to mention the fact this is based off of games. Poseidon is that one boss you fight the first time and its a guaranteed death/cutscene. You fight him later on in the game and you body his ass when you get close and he's wasted his moves.

Not sure why you're telling me this,I FEEL HONOURED!!, WELL YEAH Jorge never said he was making a direct musical about the Odyssey itself, he has always been saying his big inspo is anime and video games, I dont know why only now people are surprised.

I mean, we've seen God Games, we've seen Little Wolf, so why now are people being such nerds. (Coming from a person who literally stopped watching Bridgerton when they ruined Francesca's book story).

Do you ever think the reason the ghosts that haunt Odysseus only do so because, as per greek tradition, he didn't burn them so they could pass over to the next side, he never got the chance to offer each men a coin for Charon. His mother (in some myths) drowned in the sea, nobody could have burned her or given her the coin.

Maybe that's why the voice of the trojans he killed dont come back, those trojans were burned and buried by peers, maybe not all, but certainly most. Like Astyanax, after the burning someone might have given the privilege for him to be burned (Like it is the case in the book "The Silence of the girls")

So, the ghosts of the crew and his mother will haunt him forever, given he can never actually help his crewmen or mother pass for the underworld.

What if the Ithaca Saga, the end of "Would you fall in love with me" ended with Odysseus exhaling "I can relax, my friend" in the same note Polites ended open arms?
