Treacherous

"Happy birthday!", they said. Everything in the room was bright and happy. Her bed, the walls, their faces, the decorations... Even her face bore a smile; but her eyes told me a different story.

Alive

Quietly

You will know when not to add that cup of water that's going to overcook your food; You will know when not to eat that last scoop of icecream at the bottom of the tub; You will know, whom to walk away from, if you listen carefully; You will know because your heart is always telling you, quietly.

Things that haunt me

And in the constant drone of thoughts that haunt me, Somewhere, I only know of a few that matter; And most of them, bear your name.

Promise

No matter what, I promise to myself, three things: If it is not true to me, it is not a concern I will be forced to bear. If I don’t take care of myself, I’ll remember that no one else will. If people treat me badly, I know that it reflects badly on them, and not on me.
