Op sucked so now I get to infodumb
Team Fortress 2 has fantastic game design for its time, something evident by the fact that the character design is so well thought out and intricate that even their heights are not only represented through their POV but they are also relevant to how they should be played
Just look
Sniper and Scout have different POVs. By playing sniper you can see over what a scout player can see. Isn't that the coolest? How many FPS are there that actually put that much effort in?
But there's a reason it's like this. Sniper needs to see targets far away. So does Medic. That's why they're both tall. That's why their POV is much higher.
Scout? Scouts a close quarters fighter. So is Engineer so is Pyro. That's why they're the 3 shortest. That's why their POV is the lowest.
Honestly tf2's character design is so under appreciated by so many ESPECIALLY in leiu of overwatch but it's such a powerful aspect of the game
Like how Heavy has the shortest legs because he's the slowest or Medic being the only character to not be all red/blu so that he stands out both to the enemy and to his own team.
It's brilliant and I could talk about it forever
expiration date redraw + gentle surgery cuz im fleshing out my blu team ( or at least blu spy ) designs
