So much of what society treats as a joke is just mocking disability. Their idea of lazy is a disabled person trying to survive, whether that be living with their parents as an adult or using pre prepared food. Cringe culture is based entirely around mocking neurodivergent people and their interests. Symptoms and characteristics of disability such as urgency issues, drooling, tremors, tics, strabismus and speech impediments are used as cheap punchlines.

In children’s tv shows disabled characters such as those with speech impediments are treated as a joke, with symptoms of disability being portrayed as synonymous to stupid.

This idea is being taught from a young age in the media and it’s engrained into our language and culture. This goes beyond jokes, it contributes to the alienation of people with disabilities.

Once you start noticing these things you realise how constant and normalised it is.

Reducing an entire person to a punchline is wrong. Using a disability symptom as an insult is wrong. It’s disturbing how normalised it is to not treat people with basic decency and respect.

my little sister has a speech impediment she has a really hard time with enunciation and has a habit of slurring her words and speaking too fast she had really bad incontinence for years due to her low muscle tone which also means that she cant walk very far or very fast and causes a lot of leg pain shes also a bit chubby and im so surpised that noones ever made fun of her for it in real life but god does she get made fun of in television.

Us upon learning that everyone hates people that collect Funko Pops: actually emotionally hurt and feel worthless.

Like, we KNOW not to let others opinions affect us, but geez, we've only ever seen like..TWO positive reactions towards them (yours included.) We like them and are easy and fun to collect. Also, we're like…the worst Funko Pop collector, as in, we take them out of package and throw it away. Yes, we take figures….out of the box! The horror!/sarc But seriously, people really need to stop shitting on what others enjoy collecting. So what if one of the types of figures we like to collect are the ones with the black circles for eyes, as least we're having fun and enjoying ourselves, what are they doing? Complaining that people are having fun and finding joy in something they're not? Waahhh waaahhh. People need to grow the fuck up.

Sorry, it's almost 1am, and we just saw another video that went on a random rant half through about how stupid people that collect Funko Pops are, and how pointless the figures are. This was coming from a guy that collects Hot Wheels and keeps them in the package btw. Pot calling the kettle black, right?

i don't personally love the look of funko pops but i honestly wish i did! they are probably the most easily accessible figures (in my country at least) and they're not too expensive. good for everyone who does like and collect them!

i do own one, reagan from the exorcist, which was a gift from a dear friend so i do like it because i love her :) i also like non-human funko pops, i feel like the big eye thing works best on a little creature! i just ran into this garfield one online and it's so cute honestly AUGH......

anyway i agree! i think it's understandable that funko pops are popular and it's incredibly unnecessary to hate on them and their collectors. i don't care if people say they dislike their look but they are harmless so any more than that is unnecessary!

Update: tried to make a cookie in a mug and made the World's Worst Mug Cookie. Texture of bad, dry sourdough and tastes like flour someone should ban me from the kitchen

drinking the World's Worst Hot Chocolate rn. like. It's a mix of cocoa powder, a little sugar, Milo and protein powder and way way too much water and a little almond milk. Tastes like nothing but hot but I've got a whole thermos full of this shit and by God am I going to drink it
