Suzanne Lacy, Auto on the Edge of Time, Snug Harbour Art Exhibition and Installation, (Staten Island, NY, 1994)
For this installation of her ongoing work, Auto on the Edge of Time, Lacy commandeered five wrecked cars which had been parked around Staten Island with crude messages on signs about drink driving, all signed by the local borough chief, Guy Molinari. The cars were painted bubblegum pink, and displayed alongside signs with messages and statistics about domestic violence.
