people misunderstand what ‘gifted kid’ actually means but it’s ok it’s fine it’s cool it’s good
Astarion: “No one ever cared about me >:\”
Karlach, standing 10ft away: “ME I CARE I CARE SO MUCH”

By existing as a citizen in and paying taxes to the imperial core, we automatically hold complicity in imperialist oppression because we are literally footing the bill for it. That is just the basic nature of being born to privilege in systems of oppression in general. We can be disadvantaged and marginalized in every single other consideration and we still have to understand and cope with this, and ensure we leverage it as effectively as possible.
Voting abstinence/sabotage does not absolve us of our responsibility to do everything in our power to lessen harm, but it DOES show that when our personal morals aren't satisfied, we retreat into (imperialist, this time) privilege to 'wash our hands' of the situation and declare it's not our fault and it's not our problem.
I can't be the only one surprised how casually you're just. Here. Mind talking about what it was like to like. Join Tumblr?
It was 13 or 14 years ago. From what I remember you just shouldered aside the mastodons, went into the Tumblr cave and carved your mark on the wall, telling people you were now signed up for tumblr, and then they would haul memes on animal hides past you. Back then it was mostly cats doing amusing things, obviously, but we would watch them by the flickering firelight, and chortle to ourselves hopefully before leaving the cave and trudging back to our lives.
I just kinned the Bg3 companions with my little pony characters (it was relevant to thr post I reblogged I swear) which has reminded me of my love of kinning.
So.
Bg3 companions as SIX queens.
Apparently my blog is just Bg3 + musicals now.
Okay!
These don’t fit perfectly but whatever.
Also spoilers for backstories and character quests.
Lae’zel is Catherine of Aragon, and No Way is her talking to Vlaakith. She was perfect and devoted and then turns out Vlaakith sucks and now hates her even though she was the perfect devoted follower. Also low key the drum breakdown is giving military to me, idk why.
Anne Boleyn is Gale because 1. Confident, 2. I just want him to be silly. As a treat. Lose Your Head is him talking about his relationship with Mystra and how not feeling good enough for her drove him to do reckless things that ended up getting him banished/basically sentenced to death.
Jane Seymour is Shadowheart because she put up with the abuse for a long ass time and also emotional repression, and grief of her parents paralleling Jane’s grief for herself and her son.
Anna of Cleves is Karlach. She has the best attitude out of all of them and the most self-confidence, and even though her good times are cut short (regardless of which ending she gets) she’s having a great time while she’s here.
Katherine Howard is Astarion. Because… yeah.
Catherine Parr is Wyll. Voice of reason, wants to be known for who he is outside of his abuser (Mizora, maybe his dad too idk) and has tons of accomplishments unrelated to his abuse. I also feel like without Tav he’d be the voice of reason and the one to help everyone through their shit.
Honestly as a blind person I’m so tired of seeing fictional blind characters who don’t use white canes or other guides. “They have special powers so they know what’s around them” or “they’re confident enough to not need a guide” are common tropes, and I’m tired.
Are people scared that using a white cane will make their blind character seem weak? They can’t use a cane because they’re so special that they already know what’s around them, and other blind people who use guides are inferior because they’re not special?
I’m tired. Give your blind characters white canes and other guides. Let them hold onto their friends, let them have guide dogs. Don’t make white cane users feel ostracized for not being “strong enough” to go without.
Another thing that pisses me off is when a sighted character comes up with the fantasy equivalent of braille and teaches it to the blind character. Braille was invented by Louis Braille, a blind man, in 1824. The blind character should be the one coming up with it.
Tldr I’m blind and tired of sighted people lol
