Chapter 1. Looking at me

Back to Masterlist

In which Hana goes to a job interview at the FBI which is 'totally' where an ex Assassin should work. Chapter Title: Looking at Me by Sabrina Carpenter

Hana first day was as uneventful as one could be as a BAU candidate, she'd exited the lift to what she hoped was the correct floor and approached the front desk. She was clutching the strap of her small black bag tightly in her hand.

"Hey, is this the BAU?" She asked the young woman at the front who was likely around her age.

"No this is Baskin Robbins how can I help you today" she replied not looking up from her phone.

"Well can you either get me a ice cream or point me in the right direction otherwise I can go elsewhere"

She look up at her for the first time seemingly impressed someone had actually played along with her. "Not bad, we'll get along just nice. Oh and don't worry you're in the right place. Just through those doors" she pointed towards the glass doors just to the right of the main desk.

"Perfect thank you so much..."

"Gerry"

"Thank you Gerry, I'm Hana"

"Have a good day Hana" she smiled, waving her off before glancing back down to her phone.

Hana moved away from the front desk and entered through the glass a look around the large bullpen. There were at least ten main desk scattered around the room, and on the higher platform section there were seemingly three rooms. Hana presumed these were the rooms for the section chief, supervisor and of course the conference room.

As she was looking around Hana was soon approached by a tall man who was well dressed in a simple smart suit, his badge on display showed the named A. Hotchner; Unit chief.

"Can I help you?"

"Are you SSA Hotchner?"

"I am, and you are?"

"Oh okay, well I'm Hana Fedorov one of the new candidates ... I got an email saying I have a interview today"

"Of course thank you for coming, but I must let you know that we're currently on a case so it may be a long interview process."

"Not to worry sir, I'm known for my patience." Hana replied to the imposing man. Aaron was younger then she'd pictured, but was definitely someone of authority. He had a simple but smart haircut alongside a clean shaven face, and his wardrobe were all clearly a way to subconsciously make others know he was in control.

She subconsciously shook her head in order to stop herself from profiling further, she'd heard rumours in the academy about how the BAU wasn't all that fond on profiling their team mates; especially their bosses.

"So erm where should I wait?"

"Just outside are some seats, the other candidates should be there as-well" Hotchner said before pointing towards the glass entrance doors.

"Ok, thanks" she smiled brightly at the tall man before making her way out the doors he had pointed to. She immediately saw the line of candidates either sat or standing down the hallway, and as much as she'd deny it; Hana was a little intimidated. These people were older than she was by a significant amount in terms of experience both in life and on the field. In reality she had just as much experience too but she couldn't tell anyone what that experience is let alone the FBI.

Taking a deep breath as her father taught her, she stepped down the hallway and found a spare seat next to another woman. She took another deep breath, once she sat and placed her bag down in front of her legs.

"Nervous?" The woman next to her asked, causing Hana to turn towards her before answering.

"Just a little, I think I'm youngest one here..." She joked as she scanned.

"I'm just glad I'm not the oldest",at this both women turned to look at each other smiling softly, before falling into quiet laughs. "I'm Tara by the way"

"Nice to meet you, I'm Hana"

"Hmm both double a, sounds like fate"

"Maybe I'm not a huge believer in that"

"Well either way, I should get your number in case we never see each other after this. You seem a lot of fun"

"I'd like that", It was shame the BAU was one looking for one spot, it would've been nice for Hana and Tara to be teammates.

At that moment, Agent Hotchner came back out from the bullpen and approached the group again. "Can I have everyone's attention, please."

Everyone, including Hana and Tara, promptly turned their full attention towards the imposing figure stood by the glass doors.

"The BAU is working an active case, so this interview process may take some time." He explained before continuing,  "Does anyone need to return to their field office?"

After that majority of the group either shook their head or verbally responded no. Pleased with this response Hotchner turned towards Tara, "Good. Dr. Lewis, we'll start with you."

At this Tara quickly stood before she responded a simple "Absolutely." and moved to follow him through the glass doors, but not before turning back to Hana and waving bye.

After Tara left spent the next thirty minutes in the same seat reading through her past few messages on her phone. Most were from either her phone provider or random promotional offers that she opted to ignore. The one that she focused on was a message from a unknown number, likely from a burner phone. It simply read 'Been missing the Black Lion, are you ever coming back to play?' and Hana knew exactly who it had come from.

She had no intention of returning to her past she hadn't done a job since she was 17 and that was almost 8 years ago. After she'd been brought in and given a second chance, how could she throw it all away for people she hadn't seen in years. Also, those were the worst fucking years of her life. So fuck that.

With a sigh, Hana made the decision to quickly block the number and close her messages. Opting instead to play one of the random games she had on her phone, it wasn't very productive but it would at least pass the time and relax her.

Eventually she saw Tara come back through and make her way back over. "Hey!"

"Hey, how it go?"

"I think it went well. He said I had a good amount of experience"

Fuck.

"Oh really? That's sounds good"

There's no way Hana was getting this job.

"Yeah but who knows I was the first one interviewed anything can happen." She smiled softly at Hana. It was clear she was doing this to make her feel better but Hana knew that Tara was incredibly happy with how her interview went.

"Agent Fedorov" She quickly moved her head towards Hotchner at the end of the hall who had called her name. "You're next, if you'd just follow me"

"Okay... sure" Hana stood to follow him making sure she didn't leave anything behind. As she walked through the bullpen she noticed it was full of activity with people moving between the desks and speaking rapidly to each other. Whatever case the BAU were on was high profile that much was clear.

When Hotchner approached the door to his office he held the door open for her. As she stepped in first she couldn't help but analyse the room and in turn the man was interviewing her. The office was incredibly well kept and clearly belonged to someone in control, but there was also a single frame on the desk that although facing away from her, was clearly some form of family photo so he wasn't a complete robot.

"You can take a seat" He began as he took his own seat behind the desk. Once Hana a took one of the chairs opposite he continued, "I must say first of all you're not like the other candidates we have lined up"

"Young?"

"Yes but also, your past history is curious" He flipped open a file that was on his desk. "It seems there's no record of you before age 17. Why is that?"

Hana wondered if this how suspects felt in the interrogation room. "I was living in Russia for the first 16 years of my life, I was taken to the US after escaping a pretty bad situation."

"Do you have any records of your time Russia?"

"My father was off the grid, he hated the government so he refused to be on record" She let out a sigh before continuing, "It also meant he didn't want me on record. I mean I was homeschooled for most of my life"

"Well considering I must say I'm impressed by what you've achieved since." He flipped to another page as he continued, "You graduated at the top of your class at the academy and is currently one of our youngest agents active in the field"

"I was told to aim for greatness"

"Well with these credentials you could go on to do great things, so why join the BAU?"

Hana clenched her fists tightly as she thought of an answer, "I've seen a lot of bad things happen so I'm not ignorant to the type of people you guys deal with, and I wanna help be the reason those types are put away for good"

"You think you have what it takes? This job can be hard for most, let alone someone fresh from the academy"

"I know I do." She steeled her face making sure to show how serious she was, she could see that he was watching her carefully trying form some type of profile.

Yet before he could continue someone knocks on the door before entering. "We're ready to deliver the profile"

"Thanks, We'll be right there Rossi" Agent Rossi nodded before heading back out into the bullpen. "I want you to hear the profile too, all the candidates actually"

"Okay" Hana stood and followed Hotchner out into the main bullpen where she could all the other candidates crowded round the BAU as they stood waiting for the pair to join them. After spotting Tara in the crowd, Hana quickly made her way over and stood next to her. As she found her place Agent Morgan began the briefing

"The unsub that we're looking for is a contract killer who is doubling back to kill his former customers."

Fuck.

"This man is highly skilled and well-trained." continued Morgan "Under no circumstances should he be engaged without back-up."

"So is this a case of organised crime tying up loose ends?" Tara questioned bringing Hana's attention back to the room instead of the ringing in her ear.

"Organised crime's got nothing to do with this,

At least not in the traditional sense. " Agent Rossi answered before Dr Reid continued.

"In 2013, the bureau took down the silk road network " Hana had heard of this, the dark web was almost unusable during those months. Most people like her had to kick it old school. "Our initial assumption was that it was an encrypted online market for illegal drugs, which it was, but upon further inspection, we were stunned at the breadth of goods and services being traded online. Weapons, child porn, even hit men."

Hotchner then chimed in, "And the payment scheme was escrow based, in which the buyer would put down half as a deposit and the other half when the seller delivered."

By this point Hana was going through head of all her previous 'acquaintances', immediately striking off anyone she knew was either dead or incarcerated.

"We've now confirmed that all 3 victims hired the unsub over the past year through a similar escrow system."

"So why is he killing his old clients?"

"Hit men don't leave a message unless you pay them to." Rossi answered quickly, "The exception is to leave a warning for customers or competitors."

"This unsub suffered some sort of injury to his jaw or voice, most likely as a result of something these customers did. The pulcinella mask is his statement on revenge and justice" Dr Reid continued once again, Hana was impressed with how rapid fire and precise these guys were giving this profile.

"Betray the oath between customer and contractor and you pay the price. Now, normally a man with this kind of defect would attract attention." Reid continued to explain "The fact that he hasn't indicates that he has deep pockets and a network of resources at his disposal."

"Share this profile with your local divisions and with law enforcement." Hotch ended the briefing speaking directly to everyone in the room. "Search for escrow payments to match the unsub to his clients. One of those clients will be his next target."

At that everyone dispersed in various directions, while Hana followed quickly behind Hotchner as he made his way back to his office.

Chapter 1. The Awakening

Back to Masterlist.

Sulking along the path, Jaskier stumbles something he thought he'd never find.

Jaskier had been travelling alone for the past few months, he was unaware how far Oxenfurt actually was from Caingorn yet he was all to happy to leave it behind.

'If life could give me one blessing'

The memory still stung Jaskier, and he tried to cope the only way a bard knows how. At first his writing was sad, full of self pity and loneliness, until one day it shifted. Soon Jaksier's writing turned angry as it he realised; nothing was his fault. Geralt was the one who made the fucking wish to the Djinn, he was the one who thought the law of surprise was a good fucking idea. Who was he to blame Jaskier for his own stupid ideas.

He tried to put Geralt behind him but like an itch, the more he tried to ignore, the stronger the thoughts and memories returned. Somehow that emotionally constipated 'White Wolf' has burrowed his way deep into Jaskier's heart, not that he'd ever know.

So, as he spent his days repeating this vicious cycle of anger and misery he blindly followed the path, having lost his map days before. He didn't recognise where he was and the never ending forest didn't help his already poor sense of direction. He knew he was near the coast, the smell of sea salt lingered in the air around him. If he was by the coast, Jaskier thought, Then surely he was near at least a small fishing village. Maybe the locals will be welcoming enough. He walked for the next few hours hoping for any sign of civilisation and yet; the forest never ended. By the third hour Jaskier was half convinced he was walking in circles and ready to simply accept his fate of dying in the woods either from starvation or of whatever creatures lurked just as hungry as he was. However, Just as he was ready to give up his eyes caught something in the near distance.

A grand white marble arch, it stood tall over the path Jaskier was following, as he approached he noticed how it was covered from the top to the bottom in vines and leaves with bright coloured flowers growing in between. The path continued beyond this arch, leading towards a larger arch this time connected between two equally towering walls slightly hidden behind the bushes and trees of the forest. As Jaskier walked closer towards the second arch he was able to see what was beyond it; a city.

The city was larger, perhaps even larger than some of the continents major cities like Cintra. Furthermore, despite being at least a few centuries old this abandoned city showed no sign of damage to any of its marble buildings or sculptures. In fact the only indication of a long passage of time was the vast amount of vines and shrubbery that grown to cover majority of this city. Flowers had begun to grow between the cracks of the paths, creating a ethereal atmosphere to the entire city. Jaskier wandered around the city in awe, based on his previous studies he could deduce that this place was likely an ancient elven kingdom, but this confused him. Surely if this was in fact an elven kingdom especially of this size, the humans would have long since taken claim during their conquest of the continent. He was even further confused by the signs he saw, although he knew elder speech there were words inscribed that seemed completely alien to him. Perhaps this city predated even the elves.

As the sun began to set Jaskier had eventually made his way to the centre of the city, in which at the top of a tall staircase a grand castle stood tall above the entirety of the city. It was the most beautiful castle he had ever laid his eyes on. Similar the other structures of the city, the castle was made of pure white marble yet it had also been decorated with gold decals and several striking stain glass windows that displayed stunning landscapes and creatures unknown to Jaskier. Once he stepped inside he no less in awe, the marble floor was covered in beautiful dark blue rug that throughout every hallway of the castle. Artwork and Statues lined these hallways both also ingrained with small golden decals, Jaskier noticed several portraits which he presumed displayed the royal family and other aristocrats of the kingdom. Their ears in every painting were clearly elven, confirming Jaskier's theory of the cities origin.

The most breath-taking rooms, however were definitely the Entrance hall and Throne room.

The entrance hall had tall ceilings embellished with a stain glass dome as the roof supported by several engraved marble arches. There were two elegant marble staircases engraved with different depictions of animals and flowers. Like outside the vines had grown inside the castle as well and was wrapped around the bannister and draped down from the balconies on the higher floor.

Climbing the stairs towards the throne room, Jaskier continued to gaze in awe at paintings and tapestries that hung along the wall depicting ancient battles and scenes that were likely lost to history. He wondered if the library and the books within also remained intact, what lost knowledge was likely contained within those pages. Perhaps he could retell the stories one day through song.

The throne room was located in the centre of the castle and was a large expansive hall that echoed even the smallest of sound. Golden suits of armour lined the walls between the engraved marble columns that stretched from floor to ceiling. Banners that matched the dark blue rugs hung from arches and displayed a golden crest that appeared to be a stag with flowers hanging from its antlers. In the centre of the back wall, the throne was placed on a small platform that allowed whomever sat there to tower over those below them. It was made of pure gold and was cushioned with blue fabric. The golden frame had carvings of flowers and vines and several depictions of various woodland animals. Above the seat, on the throne's headboard was a detailed engraving of a stag's head with a stone in the centre of it forehead that reflected light and appeared to change colours.

There was a moment where Jaskier had a small temptation to take a seat on the throne, however he quickly removed the thought from his mind. If it was an elven city its final day could not have been a pretty sight and the people didn't need another human forced themselves on their throne.

Instead Jaskier made his way down from the throne room towards the servants quarters, he figured there would be a suitable bed he could spend at least spend the night on.

The servants quarters were also in impossibly well preserved condition, no rats scurried along the floor and there was of the cold chill that most servant quarters had. The kitchen was as beautiful as the rest of the castle, the counters made from the same white marble with flecks of gold mixed throughout the hard surface. Dried herbs and flowers hung across the ceilings ready to added whatever would be cooked. With increased curiosity, Jaskier opened a cupboard door to find a whole storage room filled with breads and vegetables in perfect condition. The preservation was still remarkable to Jaskier even after searching the entirety of this kingdom.

Soon Jaskier made his way out of the kitchen to find a long corridor aligned with several different doors that each led to a different room. Yet instead he chose to make his way further down the corridor where he spotted an ornate silver door, standing out amount the other plain wooden doors. It took around five minutes for Jaskier to reach the mysterious door at the end of the corridor, at which point he was able to fully appreciate its details. Engravings of flowers surrounding a single stag echoed that of the throne's own engraving. Gently, he pushed on the door and discovered it to be unlocked as it slowly creaked open. He made his way through the now open door to discover that behind it was some kind of mausoleum.

Unlike the rest of the elven kingdom this hidden mausoleum showed signs of erosion and aging. The once porcelain white marble had become a dull grey, and along the eastern wall the detailed etchings had become blurred and whatever image was once there could no longer be clearly seen.

In the centre of the room was a glass case, it was incredibly ornate with gold lining the edges of the box. The glass was almost crystal clear which allowed Jaskier to see exactly what was inside the case, shocking him greatly. Lying softly on a plush green cushion was a young elven girl. She was dressed in a simple white gown that draped against her figure, her brow hair had been carefully brushed free of any knots and imperfections and was braided in parts to delicately frame her soft features, and finally placed atop her head was small and delicate golden crown. Additionally across her most of her body except her face, were several white tattoos which appeared to join together as whole. Jaskier had never seen designs like this before and presumed it must have cultural significance for the ancient elves.

Despite this, what shocked Jaskier most all was, as he approached the case he noticed that her chest was rising and falling. Meaning she was still breathing; she was alive.

Jaskier continued to slowly approaches the glass case containing the mysterious young elf. As he reached closer and closer he felt compelled to reach his hand forward and touch the glass casing. When he placed his hand on the case he noticed his hand began feeling a rapid warmth that spread from his palm to throughout his body. When he look down he noticed that his hands had begun to glow, he tried to pull his hand away but found he couldn't.

Suddenly the glass case shattered around him, and after a moment the young elf's eyes opened.

Inked up | Fem! Y/N x Josh Washington *Smut*

Inked Up | Fem! Y/N X Josh Washington *Smut*

Masterlist

It's spring break, which means Y/N can finally show off the lower back tattoo she got months ago. Josh surely isn't going to complain, especially not when it's paired with such a tight Bikini. (WC: 5999 ) Warnings: Smut, AFAB! Reader, Alcohol, Dom!Josh, Dom/Sub vibes, Deep throat, Face fucking, Brief Slap, Tattoo Kink, kinda PWP, Pet Names, NOT BETA READ.

AN: Tattoo design isn't specified so it can be what ever you want.

----------------------------------------------------------------

When Hannah had discussed getting a tattoo with Y/N, the Washington girl had expressed an understandable nervousness about getting anywhere near a needle for a long period of time. Which was why Y/N, as her close friend, had volunteered to go with her and also get a tattoo.

They weren’t matching tattoos by any means, but Y/N and Hannah both liked that it was an experience the two of them had shared together. Yet, it seemed no one else had really noticed that the Washington girl wasn’t the only one inked up.

Sam had, of course, come for moral support, as had Beth, but other than the four of them, no one else knew. However, this was mostly because of the placement of the Y/N new tattoo.

See, unlike Hannah, who had chosen her right arm, Y/N was afraid of what her parent would think, and so she had made the decision to tattoo her lower back. Essentially, Y/N was now the proud owner of a 'tramp stamp'.

She wasn’t ashamed of it by any means; she thought the design was beautiful and would’ve happily shown it off to her friends if she hadn’t gotten it in the middle of winter. Instead the intricate ink work was hidden under layers of fabric to fight off the frigid climate outside.

Eventually, though the cold winter nights passed, and after a few months, it was time for spring break. Now as she sat upstairs in the Washingtons beachside house in Florida, a small, selfish part of her couldn’t have felt more lucky to be friends with the richest people in their town.

When it came to spring break, all illusions of modesty went completely out the window. Ninety percent of the men went shirtless while girls simply went out in bikinis, which is exactly what Y/N planned to do.

“What the hell is that?!” Y/N whipped around from where she was looking in the mirror and looked over at Emily, who was busy trying to look around her.

“What’s what?” She asked genuinely, not sure what the dark-haired girl was talking about.

Emily looked at her like she was stupid, replying like the answer was obvious, “Erm, I’m talking about the tattoo that’s suddenly appeared on your lower back.”

Y/N blinked as understanding came over her. Turning her head, she looked at her back through the mirror and realised her bikini felt low enough that the tattoo was fully exposed for the first time since she’d gotten it. Shrugging, she turned back to her friend and spoke.

“Oh yeah, I got it done at the same time as Han, just in a harder-to-see location.”

“So, you’ve just had this the whole time,” Her friend continued to question, “And just… didn’t think to mention it?”

“I don’t think a small tattoo on my back is life-changing information,” Y/N reasoned, “So it wasn’t something I found important to share.”

“Share what?” Jessica asked as she entered the room, clad in a skin-tight pink floral bikini.

Emily turned to her best friend and pointed briefly to Y/N before speaking, “Y/N has a tattoo, a tramp stamp to be specific.”

This perked Jess’ interest to immediately move over to her friend, “Oooo, let me see,” she said, followed swiftly by, “Oh my god, that looks really cute.” When the blonde had actually seen the bit of ink.

Y/N smiled appreciatively at her friend before turning back to the mirror and adjusting her bikini top one final time before looking back at the girls. “Is everyone else already downstairs?”

“Yes, so we better hurry before they get bored and leave without us.” Em spoke as she swiftly grabbed Y/N by her arm and led her out of the room and downstairs, Jessica following behind them.

Everyone else was already in the main living room. Matt was sitting on the floor next to Mike and Josh, laughing at some stupid video the two had found while Beth was sitting in an armchair talking to Hannah. Sam had her eyes locked on the TV, watching the game on the screen, her attention turning towards the sound of footsteps descending from the stairs.

“Alright bitches, let’s fucking party.” Emily announced as she confidently made her way into the living room, still pulling Y/N behind her.

Mike and Josh were the first in the small group to stand up; Mike was the one to speak up, “Bout time y'all got down here.” He joked in a mocking southern accent as he picked up a bottle of beer that was on the coffee table before taking a sip.

Josh, on the other hand, made his way over to Y/N and smiled at her genuinely, “You look… wow.”

Y/N simply giggled and gave a little playful slow twirl to show off her ‘outfit.’. “Thanks, Sam helped me pick it out.”

However, as she twirled, a hand suddenly reached out and grabbed her waist to hold her in place. Y/N then felt another hand reach down to softly trace the tattoo on her lower back, causing her to shiver slightly.

“How long have you had that for?” Josh couldn’t help but ask, his typical smug smirk spread across his face.

“Got it at the same time as Hannah.” She replied as she pulled away from his touch, suddenly feeling very sensitive in that area.

He chuckled to himself as he watched her suddenly shiver from his touch; it wasn’t a secret to anyone that it was a sensitive area, and that just made it even more fun to him.

“I can’t believe you just hid a tattoo like this from me all year.” He gave her a mock serious look, a sly smirk on his lips, “I’m appalled, how could you?”

“I didn’t do it intentionally,” Y/N bit back, “I wasn’t about to walk around in low-cut jeans and crop tops all winter.”

He laughed brightly and took another swig of his beer before leaning in a little close, “Fair enough, but does that mean I’m gonna get to see it all the time now that you’ve revealed the secret to the world?”

“Ha, you wish.”

He gave her a wide smile, “You bet I do.” He wiggled his eyebrows playfully and pulled away.

Before Y/N could react to that, however, Chris and Ashley had emerged from the beach house’s kitchen. As Chris entered the room, he exclaimed dramatically, “Alright party people, let’s get this show on the road.

Matt was the first to respond to Chris, and while he may not have been as dramatic about it as Chris, he still let out an excited holler. “Yeah! Time to go get wasted!”

And soon, after several other shouts of excitement, the group made their way out of the house and straight onto the beach. The beach in front of the Washington’s house was already swarmed with college kids, equally if not more scarily clad than Y/N’s tight two-piece.

The smell of alcohol and weed permeated the air, and music blared from several speakers that were linked to the stage where a DJ was jamming away on.

“Remember to at least stick in pairs,” Sam maturely said before grabbing Hannah and Beth’s hand and almost running off into the crowd in search of a good drink.

Josh smiled brightly as he watched his sisters having fun with Sam for a moment before turning his gaze back to Y/N. “Wanna go find a drink?”

“Definitely.”

With her reply, Josh started to walk to the makeshift bar that was set up by the other side of the beach, his hand finding the small of her back to lead her into the crowd of people.

“So what do you want to drink then?” He asked as he guided them towards the bar.

As the pair reached the bar, he gave her a small nod and turned to the man running the stand, pulling out a ten-dollar bill as he spoke, “We'll have two shots... something strong.”

The moment he said the word shots, the guy nodded and started to pour them out two shots and handed them both to Josh, who took them both and offered one to Y/N, “Here yah go.”

“Thanks,” She smiled at him before downing the drink. As the liquid hit the back of the throat, she could help but cough slightly, “Well, it’s definitely strong.”

He couldn’t help but chuckle as she spoke, and he turned to request another two shots, which the guy filled without delay.

“Y’know I had a feeling you were gonna say that.” He told her as he once again handed her a glass before taking the other for himself, “Ready?”

Y/N winced slightly as she remembered the burning sensation she’d felt just moments before, but it was spring break, and she wanted to get as drunk as possible. So, she picked up her glass and gently hit it against Josh’s, “Ready.”

This time, however, when Y/N downed her shot, her throat forgot to close properly, and she found herself choking as the burning liquid hit the back of her throat. Tears rolled down her cheek as she subconsciously gripped onto Josh’s arm for support.

Josh’s eyes widened slightly as he suddenly felt her grip his arm, “Oh—“ He started to say but stopped as he saw her struggling to breathe, panicking slightly.

“Hey, just breathe,” he said as he quickly put both their glasses onto the bar. “Take a second to breathe.”

When she finally got a breath back, Y/N gently patted him on the arm, “S-sorry, just went down the wrong way.”

He looked at her as he saw she was alright and let out a small laugh, his hand resting gently on her back, “It’s alright, just don’t do that again. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do if I have to perform the Heimlich.”

The smile grew wider on his lips, realising he had his hand on her lower back, right by her tattoo. Yet, before he had the chance to pull away, Y/N shifted her feet and leaned into his touch.

The moment he felt her relax and lean into his touch, he found himself unable to stop himself, letting out a small sound at her touch as his fingers lightly traced the tattoo on her lower back.

It was only when the man at the bar spoke, asking if they wanted another drink, that he reluctantly snapped out of it and quickly pulled his hand away. “Maybe we shouldn’t get any more,” he said. “The beach isn’t a nice place to vomit.”

"Let's go dance then."

Josh looked back to her as she spoke, a large smile on his lips, “That’s a dangerous proposition.”

He smirked coyly, “You sure you trust me enough to not have my hands all over you?”

Y/N stepped forward, a smirk growing on her face. "Maybe I want you too..."

As she stepped forward and spoke, Josh’s eyes locked with her own, his smirk growing even wider as his heart started to beat even faster. He couldn’t resist the temptation any longer, his hand running down her lower back once again, stopping when he reached the edge of her bikini.

“In that case, I won’t hold myself back.”

"Come on then..." she said before pulling away and disappearing into the crowd.

Josh took a second as she left to watch her walk away, a smile on his lips as he followed after her, his eyes fixed on her as he pushed through the crowd.

It didn’t take much time for him to catch up to her, and as soon as he was there, his hands were on her once again, this time her waist, as he pulled her back towards him.

As she felt herself being moved, Y/N couldn’t help but lean into the touch, swaying her hips against him as she began to dance to the music. Since Josh was only wearing a pair of swimming trunks, it wasn’t hard for Y/N to feel just how much he was enjoying it.

Suddenly, she turned in his arms so that she was facing him and tilted her head upwards so she could look into his eyes. “What if I told you there’s another tattoo you can’t see?”

As she turned around in his arms, a smirk spread across his lips, and he raised his eyebrows, a look on his face of both disbelief and lust, “You’re kidding me, you’ve got another tattoo that you’ve managed to keep completely hidden?"

Unable to control her face, she burst into giggles for a minute or two, and when she'd finally calmed down, she replied, "I'm only kidding; unless I had a tattoo on my tits, there's not really anywhere else I'd hide another tattoo in this."

It didn’t take more than a moment for his eyes to dart down her body as his thoughts ran wild, “That’s disappointing.” He eventually said, looking back up at her, “I was looking forward to seeing where you’d manage to hide a tattoo in this.”

"Well, maybe there's something else more exciting under this little swimsuit," Y/N replied before pouting her lips dramatically.

He raised an eyebrow at her as she spoke before looking down her body again. “I think you’d have to prove that for me to believe you.”

"How far are we from the house?"

Josh raised an eyebrow, a smirk on his lips that was full of lust and desire. “It’s a short walk. Why do you ask?”

A dark look crossed Y/N's face as she reached forward and pulled his face close enough that her breath tickled against his lips. "Listen to me, we either go to the house now, or I go off on my own and find a random stranger to fuck.”

His own eyes darkened as she spoke, her breath against his lips only making it even worse as he had to take a deep breath.

He stared into her eyes for a moment, the alcohol in his system giving him the bravado he needed before he nodded, “We’re leaving now.” He almost growled out as he grabbed her hand and started to pull her through the crowd.

With a proud, smug smile, Y/N happily allowed Josh to drag her through the crowds and back down the beach to the house. When they arrived, Y/N couldn’t help but cheer mentally that none of the others had yet returned, which meant she and Josh had the whole place to themselves.

Josh pushed her inside before stepping in and closing the front door behind them. As she heard the lock click, Y/N was suddenly pulled backward and nearly slammed against the wall of the entryway.

For Josh, his lust had completely taken over, and it didn’t take more than a few seconds before his lips crashed against hers roughly, one of his hands resting against the wall by her head while the other rested on her hip as he pressed himself against her.

Y/N couldn’t help but gasp into the kiss; in all her teasing, she’d never seen this side of Joshua before. He was so forceful compared to his usual soft nature towards her.

As she gasped into the kiss, he took the opportunity to quickly slip his tongue into her mouth. Yet, there was no battle for dominance; from the moment Josh had grabbed onto Y/N’s hand and dragged her away, it was clear who was in control.

“You’re such a fucking tease.” He murmured against her lips, “I bet you’re really fucking proud of yourself.”

“I don’t know what you mean…” She replied, playing coy as her hands moved into his thick curls and pulling slightly.

A low growl escaped his lips, one of his hands gripping slightly at her hip. “You know exactly what I mean,” he said, his lips now moving to her jaw as he leaned down to kiss her skin softly. “You just love to give me trouble, don’t you?”

“I’m sorry, will you ever forgive me?” She couldn’t help, whining slightly as he moved down from her jaw and began to kiss the hollow of her neck.

A grin spread across his lips as she spoke, and he pulled away from her neck just long enough to respond, “I don’t know.” He said, his hand gripping her hip slightly, “I think you’ll have to make it up to me in some way.”

"I'll do anything."

Josh’s hands now rested on her hips, his eyes burning with lust as he stared at her with a smirk on his lips. He took in a moment to admire her, unable to resist the image before him as his gaze raked over her. “Prove it then.”

And so she did, pushing him backwards Y/N led Josh into the living room and directed him to sit on the couch. Once he had settled himself down, instead of sitting next to him, she took a moment to stand in front before slowly lowering herself until she was kneeling on the floor.

Reaching forward, she began to gently play with the ties of his swimming shorts. “Will this make it up to you?” Y/N asked looking up at him through her lashes.

He nodded his head. “Definitely a start,” he replied, his fingers resting against the cushion as he sat there and watched her, his own eyes taking her entire body in.

Having been given the green light Y/N took the initiative and gripped the hem of his shorts and pulled them down, eyes focused on his cock which had sprung free. She couldn’t help but feel smug in that moment, seeing the evidence of how much she affected him firsthand.

"Fuck, Y/N," Josh groaned, as he felt the cold air against his now exposed skin. His eyes darkened as he took in the sight of her, her gaze locked onto his aching member. His cock twitched in anticipation, a bead of pre-cum already leaking from the tip.

Unable to hold herself back any longer, Y/N leaned forward and took just the head of his hardness into her mouth before swirling her tongue. With a groan, Josh’s hand quickly found itself in her hair, gripping the strands tightly.

"Oh fuck, Y/N," he groaned, his hips instinctively rocking forward to push more of his thick length into her mouth. "Your mouth feels so fucking good, baby. Such a perfect little cock slut for me.”

Y/N had never heard Josh talk like this before; he’d always been so mild-mannered and kind towards her. Yet, now as she knelt on the floor listening to Josh calling her a slut, all she wanted was for him to keep talking.

Spurred on, she hollowed her cheeks and quickly found her rhythm, and it was almost too much for Josh to bear. He could feel every flick and swirl of her tongue, every gentle grazing of her teeth against his skin, sending jolts of electricity straight to his core.

Through the pleasure-induced fog, Josh sensed just how much his words affected the girl kneeling in front of him. “Oh, you like that, do you?” he growled, his voice dripping with lust. "You love hearing me talk dirty to you, don't you?"

She tried to pull away to reply, but he quickly pushed her down, shoving his cock even further into her mouth, “Oh no, I don’t need you to speak right now, just let me fuck into that pretty little mouth.”

He began to fuck into her mouth with increasing fervour, his thick cock plunging in and out of her stretched lips. Drool dripped down her chin as he picked up the pace, the obscene sound of his hips slapping against her face filling the room.

"Shit, I'm gonna cum soon," he grunted, his grip on her hair turning painful as he chased his release. "I'm going to pump my load straight down your throat, and you're going to swallow every last drop like a good little slut. Got it?"

All Y/N could do was hum in agreement against his cock; she tried to nod her head too but simply served to push him against the back of her throat, causing her to gag slightly.

That seemed to be all Josh needed as he let out a shout of ecstasy as his orgasm hit him like a tidal wave. Y/N struggled to swallow as thick ropes of cum erupted from his cock and down her throat.

Once he had fully ridden out his orgasm, she pulled away with a loud pop. Exhausted, she couldn’t do anything except rest her head against Josh’s leg, breath heavy as she tried to catch it.

Josh let out a low, satisfied groan as he slowly came down from his intense high, his grip on Y/N's hair loosening. He looked down at her with a smug, arrogant smirk, taking in the debauched sight of her—hair dishevelled, eyes glazed over and unfocused, cum dripping from her well-fucked lips.

He tucked himself back into his pants before scooping Y/N up and pulling her onto his lap, cradling her against his chest. She melted into him, letting him support her limp, exhausted body as she struggled to catch her breath.

"That was... intense," Josh murmured, pressing a surprisingly tender kiss to her forehead. "You did so good, taking my cock like that. Such a good girl." His hand stroked through her hair, trying to smooth out the tangles he'd created.

He could feel Y/N's chest heaving against his own as she gulped in air, her body still trembling slightly from the force of his release. Josh held her close, enjoying the feeling of her soft curves pressed against him, the scent of sex and her shampoo filling his nostrils.

"You okay, baby?" He asked softly, tilting her chin up to look at him. His thumb brushed over her lower lip, wiping away the stray cum and smearing it across her cheek. "I hope I didn't hurt you. I just couldn't help myself; you felt too fucking good."

Y/N, on the other hand, had never felt better. She loved the fuzzy feeling in her head and wanted to keep feeling it. So, she subtly adjusted herself and began to gently grind herself down onto Josh's thigh.

"Mmm, someone's eager," Josh murmured, a smirk tugging at his lips as he watched her move against him. His hands slid down to grip her hips, encouraging her subtle movements. "You liked choking on my cock that much, huh? Got you all hot and bothered?"

"Mmm," she whined in a near squeal, "I need... fuck, I need..." God, she was such a mess she couldn't even talk.

“What?” He questioned, gripping her face and forcing her to look at him, “I need you to use your words, sweetheart.”

“I…” Her face scrunched in frustration when she still couldn’t speak, so she reached behind and quickly undid the ties of her bikini top before throwing it off.

Josh's eyes widened as Y/N frantically untied her bikini top and tossed it aside, exposing her perfect breasts to his hungry gaze. They bounced slightly from the motion, and he couldn't resist reaching out to palm the soft mounds, squeezing and kneading the supple flesh. Her dusky pink nipples pebbled under his touch, and he couldn't help but lean down to capture one in his mouth, swirling his tongue around the hardened bud.

"Fuck, these tits are amazing," Josh groaned around her nipple, sucking and nibbling gently before giving the other the same treatment. He could feel Y/N arching into his touch, her fingers tangling in his hair to hold him close. The taste of her skin, the weight of her tits in his hands, and the needy whimpers spilling from her lips—it was all driving him crazy with lust.

Pulling back, Josh cupped her face, forcing her to meet his intense gaze. "Tell me what you need, Y/N," he demanded, his voice low and rough with desire. "I need to hear you say it. I want to make all your dirty fantasies come true."

His other hand slid down her stomach, slipping beneath the waistband of her bikini bottoms to cup her mound. He could feel the heat radiating from her core, the dampness of her arousal coating his fingers. "Is this what you need? To be touched, to be fucked until you can't think straight? Say it."

“Yes,” she said simply, but that earned her a soft chastising slap on her cheek from Josh. It was a playful slap but firm enough to make a point.

"Yes, what? Come on, baby, you can do better than that," he coaxed, his fingers teasing through her slick folds, not quite touching where she needed him most. "Tell me exactly what you want. I know you've got more imagination than that."

“Ah!” She moaned out in an almost scream from his touch, “Joshua, I can’t…”

Josh tightened his grip around Y/N's throat slightly at the sound of her desperate moan, his eyes flashing with intensity. "Can't what, baby? Can't form a sentence? Come on, sweetheart, you're going to have to do better than that," he growled, his fingers still teasing through her soaked folds without giving her the direct stimulation she craved.

“Please… fuck my pussy.” Y/N spoke rapidly between breaths, desperation evident, “I need your cock in my pussy, please; I wanna feel good.”

Josh let out a low, approving groan as Y/N finally begged for what she needed, her words dripping with desperation. "Fuck, that's my good girl," he praised, rewarding her by pushing two fingers deep into her dripping cunt without warning. He pumped them in and out of her hard and fast, curling them to hit that sensitive spot inside her that made her see stars.

At the same time, Josh captured her lips in a searing kiss, swallowing her wanton moans and cries. He bit at her bottom lip before soothing it with his tongue, his hand still wrapped loosely around her throat. Breaking the kiss, he leaned in to growl in her ear, "Get on all fours and spread your legs, baby. Show me this needy little pussy that's begging to be filled.

Drinking in the breathtaking sight before him, he felt his cock throb at the erotic image of Y/N presenting herself so perfectly, just for him. The way her back arched, her round ass up in the air and her dripping pussy on full display, begging to be claimed. He couldn't resist reaching out to squeeze one of her plump cheeks, kneading the supple flesh roughly.

"Fuck, Y/N... you're so goddamn sexy like this," he groaned, giving her ass a sharp smack before grabbing onto her hips. He rubbed his rock-hard cock teasingly along her wet slit, coating himself in her arousal. "This is what you want, isn't it, baby? To feel my big dick stretching out this tight little cunt."

Without warning, Josh thrust his hips forward, burying himself to the hilt inside Y/N's hot, slick heat with one powerful stroke. “F-fuck!” Y/N screamed out in a stutter as she felt him enter her so deeply.

He quickly set a brutal pace, fucking into her rapidly. The sound of skin slapping against skin echoed through the room, mingling with Y/N's scream and his own grunts of pleasure. He could feel her velvety walls clenching and fluttering around his cock, drawing him in deeper with each powerful thrust.

His hands found her waist as his thumbs traced the edges of the back tattoo that had started all of this; he thought it looked even more beautiful in this moment. Josh’s eyes focused on the intricate design, yet his pace never faltered.

“So fucking sexy,” he spoke in between thrusts, “Such a sexy little tattoo, but you know that, don’t you?"

“Yes!” She screamed out, cutting herself off with a high moan.

“Tell me,” he spoke suddenly, “Did you get it for me?”

Stunned by the sudden question, Y/N froze in place, her eyes growing wide. “Huh?”

“Did. You. Get . It . For. Me?” As he asked, Josh emphasised each word with a sharp thrust into her pussy.

“I already told you, I got it with Hannah.” She mumbled, but that wasn’t the answer he was looking for, and almost as quickly as he entered, he suddenly withdrew from her pussy. Y/N lifted her head in confusion as she whined at the sudden loss.

Her head spun as Josh tightened his grip so he could flip her over, laying her down on her back so he could hover above her. Josh gripped Y/N's chin, forcing her to meet his intense gaze as he loomed over her. His green eyes blazed with desire and a hint of frustration.

"I'm not going to keep fucking this perfect little cunt until you admit the truth," he growled. "You got this tattoo for me, didn't you? Because you knew it would drive me fucking crazy seeing it on your sexy back while I fucked you senseless."

Josh reached down and circled her clit with his fingers, applying just the right amount of pressure to make Y/N's hips buck against him. "Tell me, Y/N," he insisted, his breath hot against her face. "You can't lie to me, Y/N. I can feel how badly you want this, how much you need my cock. So tell me the truth."

“Mhmm.” She hummed and nodded her head, struggling to properly verbalise it; her head was getting fuzzy again.

Josh leaned in closer, his lips brushing against Y/N's ear as he whispered intensely, "Not good enough, kitten. I want to hear you say it." His fingers continued their relentless circling of her clit, pushing her closer to the edge.

“It was meant for you,” Y/N breathed out, “It was always meant for you, only you.” As she spoke, she had reached her hands up and tangled her fingers in his, pulling him close, gasping against his mouth as her orgasm ripped through her. Spilling her juices all over his hand before pulling him down so their lips folded together.

Groaning into the kiss, Josh continued to gently stroke her as he helped her ride out the intense orgasm, pulling away to whisper in her ear, “That’s right, baby, it’s all for me.” Earning another whimper from Y/N, “You’re mine now, always meant for me.”

He hooked his arms under her thighs and lifted her up, encouraging her to wrap her legs around his waist. In one swift motion, he flipped them over so that Y/N was straddling his lap, his hard cock throbbing and pulsing beneath her. He gripped her hips and pushed her down against him, letting her feel how desperately he wanted her.

"Ride me, Y/N," he commanded, his voice rough with lust. "Show me how badly you wanted me to claim this tattoo, this pussy, as mine.”

The only problem was that after her orgasm, Y/N suddenly found herself unable to support her own body and collapsed against Josh’s chest. “I can’t move…” she murmured against his skin, before whining at the sensation of having him inside her once again.

Josh held Y/N close as she collapsed against his chest, her body still trembling from the aftershocks of her intense orgasm. He stroked her hair and pressed tender kisses to the top of her head, murmuring soothing words into her ear.

"Shh, it's okay, Y/N. I've got you," he whispered, his arms wrapping around her protectively. "You don't have to move, not right now. Just let me take care of you.”

Josh started to slowly roll his hips, thrusting up into Y/N with deep, languid strokes. He wasn't trying to make her come again, just enjoying the exquisite sensation of her tight heat enveloping him. His hands roamed over her curves, caressing and squeezing, worshipping every inch of her body.

"Oh shit," Y/N cried out from the sensation, "Keep going, please, Josh."

Josh groaned as he felt Y/N's pussy clench and quiver around his cock from his slow, deep thrusts. Her pleading cry spurred him on, and he started to pick up the pace, driving into her with more urgency.

"Fuck, you want me to keep going, baby?" He panted, one hand gripping her hip while the other slid up to palm her breast, kneading the soft flesh. "Want me to fuck this perfect little pussy harder?"

When she did a small but clear nod, he captured her lips in a passionate kiss, all tongue and teeth as he pistoned in and out of her. The wet, obscene sounds of their coupling filled the room, mixing with their moans and cries of pleasure.

Smoothly, he rolled them over again, pinning Y/N down into the floor as he loomed over her. Gripping her thighs, he pushed them up and back, nearly bending her in half as he hammered into her harder and faster.

They continued like this for a few minutes longer; soft moans accompanied the sound of flesh hitting against one. Each of them was chasing a high they both knew would soon crash down onto them.

Eventually, Josh’s thrust began to falter and stutter as he leaned down to speak into Y/N's ear again, “I’m gonna cum, baby; where do you want it?”

“Cum in me.” She replied without hesitation, “Please just cum in me.”

“Are you sure, baby?” He asked again but still made no move to pull out.

“Mhmm,” she moaned out before speaking in a strained voice, “I’m on the pill, so please just fucking come in me.”

At her profanity, Josh let out a small chuckle before speaking again, “Well, if you need it that badly, how can I refuse?”

A high-pitched shriek echoed through the beach house as he suddenly thrust harder than he ever had before, stilling inside her and reaching his second orgasm, spilling his cum inside her.

Y/N’s peak swift followed Josh’s own, pushed over the edge by his thick hot cum coating her walls. She found her eyesight becoming blurry and felt limp against the floor from the sheer force of her orgasm. Josh followed suit and collapsed on top of her, both of them panting and trembling in the aftermath of their intense lovemaking.

"Fuck, that was...holy shit," he breathed, nuzzling into the sweat-dampened skin of her neck. He pressed soft kisses to her racing pulse, feeling it flutter beneath his lips. "You okay, Y/N? I didn't hurt you, did I?"

She let out a deep, content sigh, "I'm okay, just feel exhausted now..." Just managing to tilt her head so she could look into his eyes, "Only problem is that I don't think I'll make it up the stairs."

Josh looked into Y/N's eyes, a lazy smirk spreading across his face at her words. He brushed a few damp strands of hair away from her forehead, tucking them gently behind her ear. “Don’t worry about that baby; I’ll carry you up, and we can take a nice long nap together. How does that sound?”

“Sounds perfect,” she breathed out before connecting their lips with a soft, chaste kiss before pulling away.

Josh brushed his thumb tenderly across Y/N's cheek, savouring the intimate moment. He could feel their hearts beating in sync, still recovering from the intense climax they had just shared. With great care, he carefully pulled out of her, his softening cock slipping from her well-fucked hole with a wet sound. He winced slightly at the sensitivity, but the discomfort was fleeting.

Holding Y/N close, Josh scooped her up into his strong arms, cradling her against his broad chest. He carried her effortlessly, taking slow and steady steps as he climbed the staircase leading to the bedroom.

Y/N settled contently in his arms, eyes growing heavy. Feeling herself begin to drift off from sheer exhaustion, she embraced it and closed her eyes, tucking her face into his shoulder blade. She was content in his arms, and that’s all she cared about.

VI. Midnight Circles

By four o’clock in the morning the two sisters had created what they thought was a solid plan in how to break the news to their mom. The most important part of the plan was that they should definitely wait until morning, rather than waking her up at nearly four in the morning.

“Could you sleep with me tonight?” Mitsuko asked as she slipped into bed, unwilling for Hoshiko to leave her side just yet. She didn’t want her to disappear again.

“I can’t…” Hoshiko replied, her face suddenly distressed. “I mean, I can’t sleep.”

“At all?”

She nodded before elaborating further, “I tried to, yesterday, but… nothing.”

“Could you…” Mitsuko hesitated for a moment. “Lie with me anyway?”

The younger sister simply smiled at her sister softly before stepping forward and sinking into the empty space next to Mitsuko. The eldest pulled the cover over them before reaching across and pulling the younger sister close.

However, as soon as Hoshiko was pulled close to Mitsuko’s throat, she tensed suddenly in her sister’s arms. Concerned, she pulled away to look at her sister in concern, only to be met by dark black eyes.

“Hoshi, is everything okay?” She asked her sister, who still hadn’t moved.

“You smell so…” Suddenly Hosiko interrupted herself by nearly flinging herself across the room, hitting the wall behind, causing the house to shake.

Mitsuko stood to follow her sister but was stopped by a deep growl coming from the younger girl, “Stay back!”

“I don’t under—“ This time Mitsuko was cut off by a furious pounding on their front door.

The two sisters were still for a moment, staring at each other as they listened to banging on the door. As they simply stood there, the distinct sound of their mom's door opening echoed through the house, followed quickly by her footsteps.

“Mom!” Mitsuko called out, moving to her door and stepping out from her room, her sister cautiously following behind her, still keeping a sizeable distance.

By the time the sisters had moved from her room and downstairs, their mom was already at the door and opened it.

“Doctor Cullen?” Their mom said as she opened the door, “It’s the middle of the night!”

“I am aware, Mrs Tanaka; apologies for disturbing you,” Carlisle said with a neutral expression. “I need to speak to your daughters.”

“I’m Carlisle, but only Mitsuko is here; Hoshi is—“

“Right here!” Hoshiko spoke up, stepping forward with her eyes now narrowed at the people at the door. Carlisle wasn’t alone; next to him on either side stood Emmett and Jasper.

Not noticing the sudden tension, Chiyo quickly turned her head to look at her youngest daughter. “Hoshiko… Where have you been? I’ve been worried sick!”

Yet before she could approach her daughter, Carlisle grabbed her arm and pulled her closer to him. “Mrs Tanaka, please stay where you are.”

As Carlisle pulled Chiyo behind him, Jasper stepped forward, eyes focused on Mitsuko as she stood in front of her sister. “Mitsuko, please come here.”

“No.” She refused, “She’s not going to hurt me!”

“Suki…” She turned to face her younger sister, who was looking at her with a deeply pained expression. “You should go stand with them.”

Mitsuko took a moment to look at her sister, really look at her. Alongside the pained expression on her face, Mitsuko realised that Hoshiko was gripping the bannister of the stairs so strongly that she was nearly snapping the wood in half.

Suddenly she found her body becoming stiff and beginning to move without her trying, turning around and walking towards where Jasper and Emmett were standing. As she got closer to them, she felt a cold hand softly wrap around her wrist before pulling her the rest of the way. Now she found herself hidden behind Jasper, who was standing protectively between her and her little sister.

“Will someone tell me what is happening?” Chiyo exclaimed as she looked rapidly between her two daughters in concern.

"I'm afraid we can't tell you…" Carlisle responded cryptically, "But it's imperative your daughters come with us right now."

Instead, she forcefully pointed at the doctor, something she usually only did to her daughters when they were in trouble. “No, they’re not going anywhere until you tell me what is going on.”

“I’m a vampire now, aren’t I?” Hoshiko suddenly questioned, causing everyone’s attention to shift towards her again. “I’ve read Dracula before; I’m not stupid.”

Mitsuko noticed her mom become quiet at Hoshiko’s question, her body stock still at the mention of vampires. Yet before she could ask her, she was interrupted when Carlisle spoke up again, “Mrs Tanaka I really must insist that your daughters come with us right now.”

“But it’s four in the morning!” She spoke again, gesturing to herself as a way to emphasise that she was currently only in a nightgown.

“Listen, we need to get her out of here before a certain group finds Hoshiko here.” Jasper spoke with authority, speaking to them all as if they were officers in the army. “So get dressed if you have to, but we need to leave now.”

This was how Mitsuko found herself sitting in the back of Carlisle Cullen’s car, Jasper next to her as a way to separate the two sisters, something she still didn’t understand was necessary.

Within ten minutes they were already pulling up in front of the Cullens’ woodland house. Outside stood the rest of the Cullen family; they were in a uniformed line and clearly on guard.

When Mitsuko stepped out, she was quickly accosted by Alice and Emilie, who pulled her between them and held her firmly in place. Jasper followed, now standing behind her, creating a protective triangle.

“Why’d you bring her? She’s just a stupid human.” Rosalie had muttered quietly, yet despite being on the other side of the semicircle, Mitsuko heard her crystal clear and bristled slightly.

“Hey!” She couldn’t help but yell at the blonde, whose eyes widened slightly in surprise, “There’s no need to be rude!”

“How did you—“ “Rosalie.” Carlisle interrupted before she could finish her question, “Not now; we have something more important to discuss.”

At that moment, Hoshiko finally stepped out of the car but stayed stock still in front of it. Her eyes flittered between each person with a cold, calculated look in a way Mitsuko had seen her do countless times, usually when she felt trapped.

“We’re not here to hurt you,” Edward spoke up, seemingly reading her distress. “We just want to know what happened.”

Yet before Hoshiko could even begin to explain, Edward’s face changed, and he spoke again, “She found the army.”

“In Seattle?”

“Someone turned her, but she didn’t see who; the only person in her memories I recognise is Riley Biers.”

“What do you mean by her memories?” Mitsuko spoke up again, “Matter of fact, nothing you’re saying is making any sense. Can someone please explain?”

“Hoshiko is right,” Carlisle began to explain. “She has been turned into a vampire, just like my family and I.”

Pause.

“You’re saying my sister is a vampire now?” She asked, “Like from Buffy?”

“We’re way cooler than that.” Emmett spoke with a grin, earning a small slap on the back of his head from Rosalie.

“Right… But wait,” she continued, giving Emmett a small smile before continuing, “Was I attacked by a vampire that night?”

She tried to ignore how Jasper stiffened behind her at the mention of that night and moved to take his hand into hers, providing a comfort she instinctively wanted to give.

“You saw Riley that night, didn’t you?” Edward asked her, but it was clear he already knew the answer.

“Yeah, he seemed… different, angrier. I don’t think he even fully recognised me.”

“He's a newborn, still within his first year,” Carlisle began to explain. “He wouldn’t have been in full control of himself.”

Her face furrowed in thought as she tried to remember that night; in all the fury and violence, there was one thing that was clear: Riley’s teeth sinking into her neck. So she asked the question, “Does everyone that gets bitten turn into a vampire?”

“To my knowledge, yes.”

That made Mitsuko pause in thought, nervously wetting her lips before speaking, Then why didn’t I?”

At her question, she noticed how Carlisle glanced from her to Jasper with an indecipherable expression before looking back to her, answering honestly, “We don’t know yet.”

Turning around, she narrowed her eyes in suspicion as she analysed the expression on Jasper’s face, which seemed to be intentionally as neutral as possible. They weren’t telling her something.

So after letting out a small huff, she pulled her hand away from his own and began to walk away back towards her sister. She only made it one step before a strong pair of arms reached out and pulled her backwards into his solid form.

“That’s a bad idea, darling,” Jasper's voice drawled in her right ear, “You’re going to be good and stay right by me.”

She tried not to let his words affect her; after all, this was neither the time nor the place. She didn’t try hard enough.

“I was just…” Mitsuko trailed off awkwardly as she made eye contact with Emmett, who began waggling his eyebrows suggestively.

Now embarrassed, she tried to pull away again, to which Jasper tightened his grip. It wasn’t enough to hurt her, but it was enough for Mitsuko to fully understand just how strong he was.

So strong. She wondered what else he could do with those hands.

Despite her best efforts, all her mind could think about now was possibilities, like how possible would it be for Jasper to use those hands the right way if Mitsuko begged sweetly enough? Maybe she could get him to put his hands on her-

On the other side of the group, Edward began to choke on thin air. Mitusko thought it almost sounded like he was gagging. The others simply ignored the boy's struggling.

"Is he okay?" She asked which was simply answered with a collective laugh from the family.

As the laughter died down, Carlisle explained once more, "Edward can read minds."

"Oh…" If her cheeks could get any redder, she looked severely sunburnt.

“Unfortunately”, Edward spoke up from where he had finished fake gagging.

“He’s just being dramatic,” Alice spoke up, trying to comfort Mitsuko. “I’m sure what you were thinking wasn’t that bad.”

Edward started gagging again.

“Will you stop that, Edward?” Rosalie yelled at her adoptive brother, “God, you are always so fucking annoying.”

“Hello, teenage vampire going through a crisis here.” Hoshiko waved to the group, causing them to quieten down. “Could we please get back on topic?”

Mitsuko blinked to rewire her brain. “Sorry, you’re right.” She spoke, turning to Carlisle once more, “What exactly is the plan here?”

Before he spoke this time, Carlisle turned to Esme, waiting for her to nod and then stepping forward, “We’re willing to offer you a place in our family. You’d stay with us and learn to control your lust for blood, but we would expect you to follow our diet.”

She tilted her head in confusion, “What’s that?”

“We don’t drink human blood and hunt animals instead.” He clarified.

“I’m okay with that,” She agreed immediately, a haunted look appearing on her face. “The things I saw when I first woke up… well, I’d rather not talk about it.”

“We’ve all been in similar situations, Hoshiko; we understand,” Esme spoke, stepping forward, only turning back to reassure Carlisle, who had instinctually reached out to pull her back. Walking forwards until she was in front of Hoshiko, “In time, if you like, we can talk about it together.”

If she could cry, the younger Tanaka would have tears brimming in her eyes, “That would be nice.”

Ever the maternal figure, Esme didn’t hesitate before pulling Hoshiko into her arms and hugging her with nearly all her strength. The fledgling vampire could have sworn her now-diamond skin creaked from how hard she was hugging her, yet she could not help but lean in further into the embrace.

Still standing in Jasper’s arms, Mitsuko couldn’t help as the tears flowed; they were both her own and on behalf of her sister. She felt a jumble of emotions in that moment: sadness, confusion, relief and happiness. Yet as seconds went by, she felt an overwhelming sense of calm through her, and clarity hit her. Turning around one more time, she looked intently into Jasper’s golden eyes.

“It’s been you the whole time, hasn’t it?”

Jasper seemed hesitant to explain, “I can control people’s emotions, but I’ve only ever used it on you as a way to calm you.”

“I’m not mad.” She responded instantly, leaning further into him, “But could you ask me for permission next time?”

“Oh,” he said, surprised by her response, “Of course, if that’s what you want me to do.”

Mitsuko nodded before turning back to look at her sister as her small smile drooped into a frown. Jasper stepped around and looked at her from the side. “What’s wrong?”

“Will I ever be able to be near my sister again?” She whispered to him in hopes he would be the only one to hear.

Yet it seemed since she was in the know about vampires, the Cullens had decided to drop all pretences. From the complete other side of the large circle the group had formed, Edward decided to speak up, “It might be for the best.”

“What kind of suggestion is that?” She yelled out once more, stepping forward; this time Jasper decided to let her go. “She’s my sister; you can’t just expect me to abandon her!”

“She’s a newborn,” Edward hissed at her as he stepped forward. “She’s at the strongest but most uncontrollable she will be as a vampire.”

Yet, Mitsuko wasn’t one to be pushed around, so she stepped closer. “We’re sisters; we’d never hurt each other.”

“It would take much; it wouldn’t even have to be on purpose.” Edward pushed closer, now fully encroaching on her space. “I mean, it wouldn’t even take me a second to kill you. Think what a newborn at full strength could do.”

Within a millisecond, Jasper was at Mitsuko's side, pulling her behind him as he growled furiously at Edward, “Who do you think you’re threatening?”

At the same time, Hoshiko yelled out, “Back away from my sister, arsehole!”

He stood his ground for a moment longer before the rapidly darkening look on Jasper’s face made him back away, but not before speaking again. “She needs to understand how dangerous this is.”

“I think she’s already well aware of that.” The blonde spoke in a dangerously measured tone, “Or are you forgetting what she’s already been through?”

Feeling overshadowed in the conversation, Mitsuko leaned around Jasper slightly to emphasise, “Not that it’ll work anyway.” Before she was gently pushed back again.

Edward continued to stare at Jasper for a moment longer, his eyes flicking to Mitsuko behind him, to which she decided to flip him off. By this point it was clear that the tension would not be diffused by any three of them, so Carlisle stepped forward.

“That’s enough,” he spoke firmly, but his face remained soft. “We have larger issues at hand; I see no reason for Hoshiko and Mitsuko to spend time together so long as one of us supervises.”

“Carlisle”. Edward pushed back at his creator.

“We welcomed Bella with open arms into this family.” He responded instead, “ I expect you to do the same for Mitsuko.”

“You can just call me Suki!” She called out from behind Jasper again, earning a bewildered smile from Carlisle before he spoke again.

“I expect you to do the same for Suki.” The girl in question smiled widely at his correction.

It was a moment before Edward finally conceded with a forced, “Fine.” Before he turned around and ran deep into the woods.

“Where the hell is he going?” Hoshiko asked with a confused tone.

“Probably to visit Bella,” Esme explained, “He stays with her most nights.”

Once Jasper deemed Edward far enough away, he turned around and lifted Mitsuko’s chin up so she was looking at him. “Are you okay there, darling?”

She was awestruck by his touch; his presence was so overwhelming to her, but all she wanted to do was step closer and breathe him in. Instead, her body shook from the cold, and she let out a small yawn. After sighing slightly at the fact she ruined a potential moment, she spoke, her voice quiet and clearly drained, “Tired.”

Jasper smiled again. She’d liked it when he smiled, especially when he smiled at her. God, she was tired.

“Yeah, I think we should get you home.” He spoke, reaching forward to place his hand against her forehead, and Mitsuko leaned forward into his freezing touch instantly.

“You’re so cold,” she shivered, yet before he pulled away, she reached forward and grabbed his hand. “No, no, no, it’s nice... you feel so nice."

Before she could run her mouth anymore, Jasper wrapped his arms around her before hoisting her up and carrying her back towards the silver car. "Right, let's get you in the car."

"M'kay," she said as she burrowed further into his chest and closed her eyes, sleep quickly taking over.

Carefully, Jasper opened the door to the car and was able to settle her in the front passenger seat. After making sure she was buckled in and draping his jacket over her sleeping form, he took his place in the driver's seat.

Before he could pull away, though, a knock on the window caused him to turn and come face to face with Hoshiko’s suspicious glare. With a neutral expression, Jasper rolled down the window and simply stared.

“I need you to promise me something,” she said firmly, before her face softened, “Take care of my sister.”

He answered without hesitation, “Always.”

Chapter 3. Deadly Party Crasher

She tried not to think about Riley as much anymore. It had been a month, and the majority for the police had declared it a dead end; only Charlie was still investigating. Mitsuko wished he’d come back, but she knew the chance of that was slim now, and so she tried her best to move on.

Throwing herself into graduation planning and work, she did anything to distract herself. Mitsuko was elated to be finally graduating; as much as she loved her friends, she was excited to have the freedom that high school never gave her. The ceremony was amazing; she smiled brightly as she and her friends threw their caps in the air as several parents took pictures.

Once she’d gone home, she enjoyed a little celebratory meal with her mom and sister. After dinner, she spent some time with Hoshiko, who helped her get ready for the afterparty. She pulled a white blouse with puffy long sleeves from her closet. Pausing for a moment in thought, she turned back to her closet and pulled out a pink corset that had gold and pearl detailing.

After dressing, she allowed Hoshiko to do her makeup. It was similar to her everyday look, but her sister added some extra shimmer to her eye makeup and highlights. While her makeup was done, she braided half of her hair up and tied it in place. Just as she finished getting ready, she got a text from Jess saying her dad was on his way to pick her up. She stood up and checked herself in the mirror one last time before making her way downstairs.

"You look beautiful!" her mom exclaimed as she made her way downstairs. "Do you have everything you need?"

"Yes, Mom, don't worry; I'll be fine." She reassured her that ever since she learnt about Riley, their mother had been hyperprotective of her two daughters. After sharing a quick goodbye, she ran outside where the car was waiting for her.

Now she found herself drinking from a red plastic cup as music blasted through the Cullens’ woodland house. Although Mitsuko thought that ‘house’ was an understatement, she’d spent some time just wandering around, and while she didn’t go into any of the rooms, she was blown away at the amount of doors alone.

She sighed as one particular Cullen popped into her mind. She hadn’t yet seen Jasper, but she knew he was here; at least he said he would be. Mitsuko presumed he was out on the balcony since she'd seen the rest of the Cullens head that way.

“SUKI!” Jessica yelled towards Mitsuko, breaking her from her thoughts, “COME OVER! MIKE MADE US SHOTS!”

She smiled towards her friend and quickly made her way over, face clear with surprise at the suspiciously neon green shots in front of her. “Mike, what the hell did you make?”

“I actually don’t know, but it does have tequila in…”

“Who cares?” Lauren butted in as she grabbed a glass, “If it’s tequila, I’m drinking.”

The group cheered and followed her lead, each grabbing a glass before clinking the glasses together and each taking a shot. Mitsuko quickly downed her drink, gagging slightly at the strength and sourness of the shot, and then giggled as she watched her friends do the same.

“Mike, what the fuck was that?” Jessica asked her boyfriend, still gagging from the shot. “My throat is burning.”

“Yeah, I think you just gave us pure ethanol.”

“Well, at least my sinuses’ are cleared now.” Angela added, trying to be positive. “Wait, there’s Bella!”

Mitsuko followed behind her friends as they approached the brunette; they each hugged her, which allowed Mitsuko to slide in at the end and pull her into a tight embrace. “Happy graduation, Bella; glad to see you here.”

“Thanks, Suki…” Bella whispered in reply, giving her friend a genuine smile when they pulled away.

“So where’s your boyfriend?” She asked, raising her eyebrow suggestively, earning a mock punch from her friend. Before her friend could reply, Jessica jumped forward to speak to Bella.

“Hey. What did you think of my speech? Too easy-breezy, too self-helpful? You may admit it.”

“No, you pretty much nailed it.” Bella complimented her friend, creating a large smile on Jess’ face.

“Yeah? It's like I was born to lead, right?”

A song began to play, which got Angela's attention. She lit up before turning to her friends, “Oh, great. I love this song; let's go.”

Mitsuko was about to follow her friends, but she noticed Bella hadn’t moved. “You coming, Bella?”

“In a sec, I just need to talk to someone.” Mitsuko noticed her looking at the door where Jacob and two other boys had just entered. She nodded to Bella in understanding before making her way to the dance floor.

Angela pulled her close into a mini group hug with Jessica, all three spinning around together to the music. She danced for a while, sipping on a drink that Mike had passed her. As much as she enjoyed hanging around her friends, she hadn’t seen the Cullens at all, even Jasper, despite his promise.

“I need some air; I’m gonna head outside for a minute.” She turned to Angela, who looked at her in slight concern and offered to come with her, which she had graciously declined.

Mitsuko pushed her way through the crowd and eventually made her way to the front entrance. Stepping outside, she breathed a sigh of relief as she stood by the tree line. “I should probably check on Hoshi,” she murmured to herself before pulling her phone out of her little white bag.

Just as she was about to hit the call button, she heard a strange rustle come from deep within the forest; at first she ignored it, looking back to her phone. Yet, the rustling persisted alongside the strangest whispering as if a voice was calling her name. She didn’t know what came over her, but she found herself walking deeper into the woods in an almost trance-like state.

She continued walking until she found herself in a large clearing and quickly turned her head as a twig snapped, revealing a familiar figure standing on the other side of the clearing.

“Riley?” Mitsuko called out to him as she began to step forward, “Everyone’s been worried sick. Where have you been?”

“Don’t lie. No one’s even missed me,” he answered her, suddenly standing right in front of her.

“What are you talking about? Of course we have... She trailed off as she looked into his eyes, “Are you wearing contacts?”

“It doesn’t matter; you weren’t supposed to be here.” Riley ignored her question, “But she won’t be happy if I leave a witness.”

“Riley, what are you talking about?” Mitsuko was feeling afraid now, unsure if she’d be able to run in her current state. “You’re starting to scare me a bit, Riley.”

“I’m sorry for what’s about to happen.” His face changed into a snarl as he suddenly lunged towards her.

Elsewhere, a few minutes later…

Jasper rolled his eyes discreetly as he was forced to feel the tension between his brother and the young shifter. It was exhausting having to deal with teenage hormones on a regular basis, let alone the heightened hormones of two supernatural boys. He inhaled sharply in annoyance, eyes widening at the overwhelming scent that hit him. Blood and lots of it.

“HELP ME!” A shout got the attention of everyone on the balcony, looking down, spotting Mike Newton running from the woods, cradling something, Jessica running just as quickly behind him. “SOMEONE CALL AN AMBULANCE!”

The group quickly made their way down and outside, where a crowd was forming around the Newton boy. Although some of his family opted to stay back as the metallic smell of blood grew stronger the closer they got. Jasper followed closely behind Carlisle, who was making his way through the crowd.

Once the crowd parted, he froze at the bloody sight. Mike was holding Mitsuko in his arms, her body and hair almost unrecognisable from the sheer amount of blood.

“What happened?” Carlisle asked as Mike placed the girl on the ground. Jasper stepping forward and kneeling by her head.

The southern blonde heard Edward whisper a sharp, “Jasper, stay back.” But he ignored it; Mitsuko was someone he cared about; her blood wasn’t affecting him as he was too concerned with her well-being.

“I don’t know; some kind of animal attacked her; me and Jess heard a scream, and we just found her on the ground bleeding.” The young boy explained, trying to hold back tears at his friend’s condition. “She’s conscious, I think, but she’s not responding.”

“Honey, could you go grab the first aid kit?” Carlisle called to Esme, who moved back inside the house. She reappeared quickly, able to use her vampire speed since everyone was distracted outside. He thanked her gently before tearing the box open and pulling the gloves on.

As her began to clean the wounds, the young girl began to stir, muttering something, “Riley… don’t…” Jasper heard her mutter, as did his family, indicated by the sudden feeling of tension that spread through them all. It was at this moment that Carlisle wiped her neck clean and discovered a distinctive bite mark on her left side.

“Why isn’t she in pain?” Jasper quietly whispered to Carlisle so no human could hear; he was hyperfocused on her emotions as he was sending the young woman wave after wave of calm.

“I’m not sure, but she needs medical attention...” The other vampire whispered in reply, and he continued to take care of the young human.

Alongside her bite, she had several scratches and cuts across her body as if she’d been thrown around. What concerned Jasper most was the damage Riley was able to inflict without any of them becoming aware.

The ambulance drove rapidly down the drive of the Cullens house before the paramedics raced out with the gurney. The crowd parted once again as they approached the injured woman. Recognising the doctor, the older paramedic spoke to Carlisle as the other began to place Mitsuko on the gurney, “Dr. Cullen, how is she?”

“She lost a lot of blood before. I’ve wrapped a lot of the major wounds; she’ll need a transfusion for sure.” He explained as he followed them towards the ambulance, “What I’m most concerned about is the possible internal bleeding.”

“Understood. We’ll get to the hospital as quickly as possible,” the paramedic replied as they lifted the gurney into the back. “You wanna ride with us, doctor?”

“Yes, if that’s all right.” Carlisle agreed as the paramedic nodded and allowed him into the back of the ambulance.

As the ambulance raced back down the road, Jasper followed it with narrowed eyes. Everyone else had begun to rush toward Mike, who was drenched in Mitsuko's blood and clearly traumatised. Yet, despite the continuous commotion, the southern vampire’s thoughts remained solely on the young girl that lay in the ambulance.

‘Why didn’t the venom affect her?’ These were thoughts that crossed his mind as he moved his stare toward the puddle of blood she’d left behind, but another thought appeared in his mind, instilling curiosity and a small amount of dread: ‘Was she immune?’

Chapter 2. Jasper

Mitsuko had spent most of the weekend at home, both comforting and receiving comfort from her family. She’d also spent time with Riley’s parents, doing the same as she did for Charlie only a couple months ago. She even helped them with the missing posters.

Her friends had messaged to check on her after she’d left school early; she’d decided to be honest with them. In their friend group chat, she’d informed them about Riley and was thankful for the support they showed her. They also told her about how Edward had taken Bella out of town, explaining her lack of response in the chat.

By Sunday, she’d given herself enough time to comprehend the situation. Yet her dreams grew worse night by night. It was the same every time: blood was everywhere, upturned or smashed cars covered the car park, and people kept screaming. She saw figures clawing at each other, tearing them apart before throwing them into fires.

A particular shriek always shocked her awake, the same pitch every time, and Monday was no different. Her eyes flashed open in fear, and she quickly sat up, her pink floral duvet gathering by her legs. Bringing her hands to her face, she wiped the sleep from her eyes and moved the hair from her face.

‘Shit’ she thought as she looked to her bedside alarm clock; she’d woken up late. She scrambled out of bed to her vanity table, quickly putting on her everyday makeup and brushing her hair out.

After she was dressed in a simple white skirt and floral blouse, she made her way downstairs. She greeted her mom brightly and graciously accepted the piece of toast offered to her. Hoshiko was already sitting at the table eating a bowl of porridge, lifting her head to smile as her sister took the seat opposite.

They ate breakfast quickly and made sure to clear up their dishes after they ate. Hoshiko raced out of the house with a simple “Hurry up, we’re already late” before hopping into the passenger seat of the Mitsuko’s Mini. The drive to school was full of simple chatter and a mixture of pop and alternative music, a demand made by Hoshiko last year.

Hoshiko was busy telling Mitsuko about her classes for next year when they’d pulled up to school. The sisters parked next to Ben’s car, stepping out to greet their friends.

“Yo Suki, who do you think would win?” Mike immediately asked her instead of a greeting.

“What are you talking about?” She asked confusedly before turning towards where Mike then pointed, “Is that?“

“Edward and Jacob Black? Yep, I don’t know what they’re fighting about, but it seems pretty tense.” Jessica interrupted before she could finish.

Jacob's voice began to elevate as he got angrier, alarmed that her friend was close to a possible fight. Mitsuko stepped forward to try and intervene but was stopped by a strong grip on her wrist. Gasping at the sudden touch, she turned around, only to come face to face with Jasper Hale.

His face was stern and almost worried; brows furrowed, and he stared at her before speaking, "Don't; they know better than to get physical.”

“How do you know that?” She replied back, feeling confused again.

“Just trust me.” He smirked at her, causing a blush to spread across her cheeks.

“If you say so,” she conceded, pausing before continuing. “You have English first, don’t you?”

He didn’t speak, only nodding in reply. “Do you think I could walk with you? We’re in that class together.”

“I know.” Jasper spoke up. “And I don’t mind.” She smiled shyly at his response before gesturing for him to take the lead. It was only as they began walking that she realised Jasper hadn’t let go of her wrist the whole time they were talking, only letting go once she turned away from Edward and Jacob.

His touch returned as she walked up the front steps, a single hand placed on the small of her back to steady her as she walked. Jasper held the main doors open, which allowed her to step inside. It was then Mitsuko built up the courage to say what she’d been wanting to say to him since Friday. “Thank you, by the way.”

His steps faulted slightly as he turned to her, “What for?”

“It’s stupid,” she shook her head, “but on Friday you really helped me ground me, so thank you.”

“It’s not stupid, but you don’t need to thank me.” Jasper looked at Mitsuko deeply as he spoke. She had seen the Cullens eyes before, but Jasper’s seemed so much more intense than the others. It was like she could stare into the pools of amber all day.

‘You barely know him,’ she remained herself, unsure where these sudden feelings came from. Ever since Friday she’d felt a subtle itch under her skin as if her body was craving something; it only faded when she’d seen Jasper’s face.

Ignoring her rapid thoughts, she continued to walk next to Jasper down the corridor. Eventually, the pair arrived outside her English class. Stepping in, she noticed that her seat partner was absent today. Sighing, she sat down and prepared herself for a quiet class.

When she crouched to place her bag under her chair, she nearly jumped when she stood and found Jasper now sitting in the chair next to hers.

“You don’t mind if I sit here, do you?” He asked, looking intently.

“Not at all.” Mitsuko replied, smiling softly at him. They sat quietly next to each other while their teacher loaded up the movie on the monitor. As soon as he hit play, Jasper turned to her and whispered softly.

“How are you feeling?”

“Better than Friday, but I’ve been struggling with those episodes for a while, so I’m used to it.” There was something about Jasper that put her at ease; she couldn’t help but tell the truth.

“What exactly happened to you, if you don’t mind me asking?” He continued to whisper; neither was even attempting to watch the movie. Mitsuko hesitated slightly before answering.

“I get these... hallucinations sometimes,” she explained. “It’s not often, but when they happen, they tend to overwhelm me.”

“How do you deal with them?” Jasper asked, genuinely curious.

“Mostly medication, but it doesn’t work as well as it used to.” Mitsuko answered truthfully, and Jasper listened intently, his face full of concern. “I’ve kind of had a hard week.”

"Oh, do you want to… talk about it?”

“It’s…” She paused as a shot of grief ran through her. “My friend Riley Biers went missing in Seattle almost a year ago, and I’ve only just found out.”

“I’m sorry that happened.”

“I just wish I’d known sooner, you know?” Mitsuko explained, to which Jasper nodded in understanding, “Maybe I could’ve done something.”

Jasper lent towards her, cautiously placing his hands on her. She shivered under his cold touch but didn’t pull away. “Don’t do that to yourself; you have nothing to feel guilty about.”

“I don’t feel guilty.” She tried to state it firmly, but she knew it was a lie.

He smiled slightly. “Hate to break it to you, darling, but you wear your heart on your sleeve.”

She blushed and looked down at their hands were connected, noticing how he was softly stroking the back of her right hand. They sat there in silence for the rest of the lesson, just enjoying the comfort they felt from each other.

When the bell rang and the rest of the class began to stand, their hands finally separated. Jasper stood first, grabbing Mitsuko’s bag before grabbing his things as well. She smiled brightly as he helped her put the bag on her right shoulder before following him out of the room.

They walked side by side down the corridor, earning some strange looks from the other students. Yet the dark-haired girl paid them no mind and simply kept walking.

"You know," Jasper started, "people are staring at us."

Mitsuko simply smiled at him before replying, “Just ignore them; they have nothing better to do.”

He glanced over to her again, studying her profile as they walked. "You never get bothered by people watching you?"

“Of course I do, but if I let it affect me all the time, I'd never go anywhere.” She explained matter of factly before continuing, “You know they’re probably only staring at you.”

“Me?”

The dark-haired girl looked at him with an amused expression. "Yeah, we’ve never hung out before, and now here you are escorting me down the hallways like a boyfriend does.” but before he could respond, she continued, "Not that I mind."

"Well, my apologies," he replied with a smirk, his southern twang coming out slightly. "Maybe I just realised you were someone worth paying attention to."

“Thank you.” She blushed slightly but played it off once she realised that they’d arrived outside my classroom. "Well, this is my class; thanks for escorting me here.”

“Anytime Ma’am.” The blonde replied, dipping his head slightly in a small bow.

With a bright smile, she made her way into the class, but not before giving Jasper a small wave goodbye. For the rest of the day, Mitsuko had an extra pep in her step but also couldn’t stop thinking about Jasper.

As much as she enjoyed his company, she was confused. Ever since the Cullens returned from wherever they had disappeared, Jasper had suddenly become very interested in her, and she’d definitely noticed.

At lunch it was the same as always, the group laughing together except with a new addition. Jasper had taken the seat next to Mitsuko again, listening intently as she joked with her friends, and gently placed his hand on her back again, following the same circle motions he used yesterday. She couldn’t help but lean into the touch, feeling wave after wave of comfort and contentment.

“So Jasper,” Jessica spoke up, causing him to finally look away from the girl next to him. “Will you be there at the graduation party?”

“Um, yeah, I’m sure Alice will find a way to make me come,” he answered a little awkwardly.

Angela looked at Jessica with a bemused expression. “You know it’s happening at his house, right?”

“Well, yeah, I was just wondering; he usually keeps to himself,” she responded before trying to Jasper, “no offence though.”

“None taken.” He replied politely with a small nod.

Hoping to diffuse the tension, Mitsuko turned to the blonde and smiled at him, “It’ll be nice to see you there.”

Jasper relaxed visibly when Mitsuko spoke up. It was clear he had been feeling a bit tense from the conversation with Jessica, but her words put him at ease.

"Yeah," he agreed with a small smile. "It will be nice to see you too.”

After Jasper spoke, the bell rung, so everyone began making their way out of the cafeteria and to the next classes. Jasper again took on the duty of escorting Mitsuko to her next class. The pair walked in silence until they stopped in front of her classroom.

“We probably won’t see each other after this.” She began, “I have a committee meeting after school, but I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“Yes, of course.” He nodded, “I will see you tomorrow.”

The two shared a smile, both excited for tomorrow but especially the party next week.

Chapter 7. Gossip

Back to Masterlist

In which Spencer gets roped into watching Twilight Chapter Title: Gossip by Maneskin

Hotch had forced her to go leave for two weeks after her shoulder injury, something she found completely unnecessary. She’s remembers how her protests fell on the deaf.

“I’m telling you sir I’m fine, it’s basically a surface wound.” She’d tried to downplay, hiding her wince when the stitchings pulled slightly.

“Federov it was a clean gun shot through your right shoulder, the EMTs said you were lucky I didn’t hit a major artery.”

“But-“ Hana began to argue before the unit chief cut her off.

“Go home and get some rest that’s an order.”

“Okay Dad.” She’d had meant to mutter it under her breath but it was still loud enough for Hotch to hear.

“Fedorov”

“Right sorry I’m leaving.”

Now the young agent found herself lying on her apartment couch watching some trashy reality tv, while numb on pain medication. She was in the middle of laughing was an argument started between the main cast on screen when there was a knock on the door.

She grimaced as she slowly stood up and made her way over to the door and opened it find a familiar face.

“Lila!” She exclaimed to her friend, “What are you doing here?”

Her friend smiled brightly before stepping into the apartment holding a large bag. “I’m here to keep you company, what didn’t you tell me you got shot.”

“Im sorry I just didn’t want anyone to worry about me.” She answered as she moved back to the couch.

“You mean you didn’t want any pity?” Lila replied, leaving Hana speechless. “I know it’s how you were raised but you need to understand that it’s okay for you get help from people.”

“I know.” Hana begrudgingly accepted, “What did you bring?”

“Well usually I’d bring drinks from the club but I don’t know what kinda meds they’ve got you on, so I hope you like herbal teas and shitty snacks.”

“Aww what would I do without you?” Hana smiled brightly as she sat back down on the couch, “Oh and I forgot to say thank you for those shots the other night, the team was very happy.”

“Of course I always take care of my favourite patrons.” Lila said causing Hana to laugh as she shuffled to side to allow her friend to join her on the couch.

The two friends sat next to each for most of the day, eating the snacks and had decided to binge a movie Lila had also told Hana to watch. She thought it was okay but was getting frustrated at the inaccuracy when it came to vampire mythology; causing a friendly debate between the pair.

“You’re thinking about things too carefully!”

“No I’m not,” Hana argued back to her friend, “there’s not practical reason for vampires to sparkle, also why can they see their reflection. At this point they’re more like superhuman cannibals than vampires.”

“It’s a cheesy romance movie, it’s meant to be accurate.”

“Well why direct it so seriously.”

“Shut up and watch the movie.” Her friend responded, followed swiftly by her smacking Hana in the face with a couch cushion.

They watch the rest of the movie with minimal jibes from Hana about the inaccuracies, and were about the watch the second one until there was another knock on the door. The agent was about to rise from the couch but was swiftly stopped by Lila.

“Stop right there, you are injured and shouldn’t move, I’ll get the door.” She chastised as she walked towards the apartment door.

“It’s my arm not my leg.” Hana responded, “I can move, I just hurts.”

“Yeah sure.” Hana’s friend laughed before swinging the door open. “Who are you?”

The man at the door seemed surprised to see Lila, he cleared his throat before answering, “Hi, I’m Doctor Spencer Reid with the BAU is Hana in?”

“She is.” Lila smirked before opening the door wider to let him in, “Hana you have a guest.”

“Who?” The dark brunette asked and lifting her head up to see who’s there; her smile instantly widened. “Spencer! What are you doing here?”

“I was sent to give some information,” he started, “but I also wanted to check on you.”

“Awww how sweet.” Lila spoke suggestively to her friend. In response Hana waved her hand to shoe her away to the kitchen, her friend put her hands up in surrender but still did as she’d asked.

Once her friend had left the room, she turned back to Spencer and gestured him to set next her on the couch. Surprisingly comfortable in an unfamiliar place, he walked in and swiftly took a seat next to the young agent.

“What do you need to tell me?” She’d asked once he was comfortable.

Spencer took a deep breath before continuing, “Giuseppe Montolo is dead.”

“What?”

“It was during Morgan’s interview today, he uh.” He stopped and swallowed hard, suddenly uncomfortable, causing Hana to reach out with her good hand.

“It’s okay you can tell me.” She soothed, unconsciously stroking his hand.

Spencer nodded, “He started choking and died in the interview room, they think it was poison.”

“Did he mention anything useful beforehand?”

“Apparently the dirty dozen isn’t a group of people on a hit-list, it’s just one thing.”

She hummed in understanding, “But we don’t know what that thing is?”

“Yeah.” He answered, and hesitated again before continuing, “Do you know what it is?”

“No, it wasn’t a thing when I was active.”

“Just thought I check.”

“Sorry I was a dead end.”, She joked.

At Hana’s word he straightened on the couch and turned his body to face her, “No, you’re not a dead end at all, I didn’t come to only get information from you. I figured you should be told in person, I mean you did know him.”

“Spencer it’s fine I was only joking.” She soothed him, stroking his hand against in small circles, “Do wanna stay and watch a weird vampire movie?”

“Actually, I’m on leave to for little bit,”

“Oh why?” She asked with minor head tilt.

“Well I’m flying to Vegas on Friday to visit my mom for the week.”

“Oh really? I’m sure she’ll be happy to see you.”

At Hana’s words Spencer seemed to withdraw slightly and had a small unsure smile on his face, “I hope so.”

“Why wouldn’t she be?” She then realised that question was probably a bit to personal and quickly backtracked with a quiet, “I mean if you feel comfortable tolling about it.”

“No, I mean I don’t mind,” He reassured before continuing, “My Mom has Schizophrenia and she currently in a care facility but the doctor’s say she’s not doing too well, so I’ve took a sabbatical for a few days to go see her.”

“Well that’s very good of you,” she smiled warmly at him, “and I know she doesn’t know me but send her my love when you go.”

“I’m sure she’ll appreciate it.” He laughed slightly before chasing the topic, “So what’s the movie called?”

“Well you’ve missed the first one but we’re gonna watch second one which is called…” Hana trailed off, she turned her head towards to shout at her friend, “Lila what’s this movie called?”

In response, Lila made her way back into the living room carrying two bowls of popcorn, “New Moon, is the good doctor joining us?” She asked winking at Hana.

Hana glared at her friend to stop her from speaking, Lila simply smirked back at Hana in teasing. She’d told all her friends about the drunken kiss that her and Spencer had shared, but she’d also sworn them to secrecy; especially when it came to Spencer.

The man himself spoke causing the two friends to look away from their silent conversation, “I hope you don’t mind, Hana asked if I wanted to stay and I’ve actually been given the day off.”

“Yeah don’t worry it’s fine.” Lila replied as she sat down the armchair to let Hana and Spencer share the couch. “Have you ever seen Twilight?”

“Honestly no, although it has been recommended in the past so I know the general premise.’

Pleased with his answer Lila pressed play and the movie started. The three watched the movie quietly until they got a scene in the meadow where the main characters were lying in the sunlight, at this point Spencer spoke up.

“I thought he was vampire,” he began, “He shouldn’t be able to be in the sunlight.”

This caused Lila to groan, “Not you too, both of you just watch the movie.”

Spencer apologised quietly, and Hana shuffled closer to whisper in his ear. “Sorry about that Lila doesn’t like commentary with movies, if you want you can just tell me if you have something to say.”

And so as they watch the movie, she enjoyed how every now and then he leaned in to whisper a random fact. At one point he whispered a fact so unbelievable  Hana couldn’t help but laugh during a very serious scene, causing Lila to shush them as she watched the TV in interest.

Each time Spencer would lean over Hana would shuffle just a little bit closer, but after doing this so many times, once the movie had finished and the third one had started Hana was casually leaning into Spencer’s arm that had wrapped around her shoulders.

She turned to Spencer suddenly aware of their close proximity, “You sure you’re good to stay so late?”

“Well it’s only four right now so, yeah I’m okay for another few hours.”

“Good” She smiled at him, before passing him the bowl of popcorn. In return, Spencer took a handful of popcorn from the bowl while smiling back at her. The pair turned back to the screen and chuckled softly as something funny happened in the movie.

As the film continued, Hana felt her head grow heavy and out of reflex titled her head down so it rested on the good doctor’s shoulder, “Is this okay?”

Jerking slightly at her question, the doctor looked at her before replying, “Oh yeah, it’s okay.” He then relaxed further by fully wrapping his arm around her and pulling her sightly closer.

Hana stayed comfortably in the same position through the remaining movies left in the series, enjoying each time Spencer continuously whispered in her ear. Out the corner of her eye she noticed Lila glancing over towards the two and smirking before looking back at the T.V. Opting to simply ignore her friend’s teasing glances, she missed how every now and then Spencer would glance down at Hana to make sure she was still comfortable, smiling softly and then look back to the screen.

Hana also failed to notice that every time she laughed at something on screen, Spencer would follow suit with a fond chuckle. It was strange how close the pair had become despite only knowing each other for two months but they seemed to just click, and were already so comfortable with each other’s presence.

By the time they’d finished the entire movie series with small breaks in between, it was already half eleven at night and Hana was exhausted. Lila was packing up her stuff and heading to the door.

“Hey are you going to be okay by yourself tonight,” She’d asked her friend before she left, “I know Sasha’s out of town and I don’t think I’m comfortable leaving you alone.”

“I can stay if you want?” Spencer spoke up looking between the two women, causing Lila to smirk again. “Make sure you’re not in pain through the night?”

Hana stop still in surprise at how willing Spencer was to stay over for her; to make sure she was okay. “Yeah,” She spoke once she gotten over her shock, “You can stay as long as you want, I can see if I’ve got anything for you to wear.”

“If the good doctor’s staying then I’m gonna head out,” Lila moved to hug her friend, “Love you Hana and take care.”

“Thanks, Lila Love you too.” And with that she closed her apartment door behind her friend and turned back towards Spencer who was clearing the living room for her.

“You have to do this you know?” She spoke up causing Spencer to turn to her.

“Do what?”

“You know…” She paused before continuing, “Look after me, I’m not completely inept.”

“I know but you are injured,” He began “Just going to make sure you’re not in too much pain through the night.”

She was about to reply in thanks but she was cut off when a yawn was forced through her body, “God, I am so fucking tired.”

“Yeah? I can finish up if you want to go rest.”

“Thanks, but lemme grab something for you to wear.” With that she moved into her room, and opened to her bottom drawers where her most recent ex had left some lounge clothes. Pulling a set out she nodded in assurance that they should fit Spencer before gathering them in her arms and heading back out her room. While she found the living room empty she moved towards the kitchen where she found Spencer washing the glasses and bowl the three had used.

“Hey,” She called to gain his attention, which she did when he turned towards her while still rinsing the last bowl. “I found some clothes you can use.”

“Really? Thanks.” He actually sounded appreciative when he took the small clothes pile.

“I do have another room but it’s my roommate’s and it be weird you sleeping there without me asking, would you be fine taking the couch, it’s pretty comfy.”

“Don’t worry I’m sure I’ll be fine, thank you though.” Spencer replied giving her a small smile.

“Well I’m gonna head to bed,” Hana spoke as she made her way to her room, “Goodnight and thanks  again.”

“Goodnight and you’re welcome.” She smiled widely at him before shutting her door, she then rushed to the bathroom and splashed cold water on herself. She need to get a hold of herself.
