UFO Sighting January 7, 1948: Over Kentucky
Residents of the Madisonville, KY area telephoned police to report that they had seen “a circular object hovering overhead and giving off a brilliant glow.” State police then alerted Air Force officials at Goodman Field, an air base at Fort Knox. 15 minutes later, the airfield’s tower crew spotted the UFO as well, and used the radio to ask a squadron of P-51 fighters already aloft to investigate. Squadron leader Capt. Thomas Mantell, Jr. an expert pilot who had won the Distinguished Flying Cross for bravery during World War II, responded that he had spotted the UFO and was in pursuit. “I’m closing in now to take a good look,” Mantell reported in his last radio transmission at 3:15 p.m. “The thing looks metallic, and is tremendous in size.” Three minutes later, Mantell crashed and was killed instantly. nobody knows what was in the skies that day, except of course Mantell.

A 77-year-old man in Romoland, California, said he and his family have created a massive alien face in his backyard “in hopes of inviting aliens” to his home.
“Wouldn’t it be nice to go to the porch swing and have a nice chat?” Decker said regarding the aliens. “So hopefully this face will trick them to come, so we can shake hands and talk.”

It’s the bubble versus the cloud. NGC 7635, the Bubble Nebula, is being pushed out by the stellar wind of massive central star BD+602522. Next door, though, lives a giant molecular cloud, visible to the right. At this place in space, an irresistible force meets an immovable object in an interesting way. The cloud is able to contain the expansion of the bubble gas, but gets blasted by the hot radiation from the bubble’s central star. The radiation heats up dense regions of the molecular cloud causing it to glow. The Bubble Nebula, featured here in scientifically mapped colors to bring up contrast, is about 10 light-years across and part of a much larger complex of stars and shells. The Bubble Nebula can be seen with a small telescope towards the constellation of the Queen of Aethiopia (Cassiopeia).
NGC 4631: Whale Galaxy
This video was captured on February 23rd, 2007 at 1:30 a.m. by a young man and woman in Adelaide, South Australia. The two witnesses were at the Hallett Cove Conservation Park when they spotted a “large person like animal”. Nobody believed their strange tale, so they later returned to the area, this time with a camera and the hope that they would encounter the creature again.
To both their luck and dismay, the creature was indeed still around, and the two were able to capture a quick shot of the alien being before they fled the area in terror.
It’s possible that this was simply a costumed friend, or possibly even a dummy. Personally, I find it a bit too convenient that the alien stuck around long enough for the witnesses to return with a camera. Overall, I’m not convinced this footage is real, but that’s just my opinion.
I’m interested to hear your thoughts on this. Do you think these two young adults captured footage of an actual extraterrestrial? Or is this simply just another hoax?
