Meet The Cacomistle, A Nocturnal Acrobat Of The Forests! 🌙🌿 This Elusive Little Mammal Is A Cousin

Meet the cacomistle, a nocturnal acrobat of the forests! 🌙🌿 This elusive little mammal is a cousin of raccoons, sporting big curious eyes and a striped tail that would make a fashion model jealous. It can climb like a pro and twist its ankles 180 degrees to scamper down trees headfirst—because why take the normal route? 🤸‍♂️

Blue Whale

"We must feel lucky to be sharing the world with the biggest animal that ever existed."

Not even the biggest dinosaur is a match for the size of the Blue Whale, the largest animal that ever existed on earth. The largest-ever registered was 33 meters. It is the biggest size the animal can reach in order to function correctly. A fifth subspecies could be a population that inhabits the coasts of Chile. A group with unique vocalization and notable genetic differences.

I must say that whales are fascinating. I still find it hard to wrap the size of this animal. I hope one day I could see one of them. Today is protected because it was heavily hunted almost to its extinction. In 1966, its hunt was banned by the International Whaling Commission. ___________________________

I Absolutely Loved Doing This One. I Knew There Were Different Subspecies Of Giraffes But I Never Put

I absolutely loved doing this one. I knew there were different subspecies of giraffes but I never put attention to them. I loved the fading light color spots on the very light skin tone of this one. To me, this giraffe is by far, the easiest to distinguish. Is the lightest giraffe in color, the patches are also pale, and is the only one that survives in the North West of Africa. Store Instagram Niger Giraffe / West African Giraffe Previously, this animal was found in Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, Niger, and Chad. Today just can be found in Niger. By the 90s, the number of this animal decreased to mere 49 individuals. Today is protected and its numbers increase to about 600. This giraffe was confused by zoos in Europe. They thought they had this subspecies of giraffes, while in reality, they had the Kordofan one (the one I show in my last post on Giraffes). This happened because the populations that inhabit North Cameroon and Chad were thought to be Niger Giraffes while in fact were Kordofan. It was noticed after genetic studies were done. _______________________________________________ Credits: Niger Giraffe Niger Giraffe _______________________________________________ If you like the content please like, subscribe, and/or reblog, it will help me a lot. Hiiii

Your artwork is amazing! Legit can't tell they're no photographs!

Have you ever drawn animals that are definitely extinct but only have limited photographs, if any?

Like the dodo! But I see taxidermied photos of it so I guess that's fine.

And the thylacine!

It'd be so cool to create something that's almost a photograph of an animal that never had photographs taken of it 🤩

Hello! Thank you! I have done some. In some, the photo references I have are really bad and in a few others, they are just mere written descriptions. I had to figure out a way to do them and make them look believable (The Northern Sumatran Rhino, The Indian Javan Rhinoceros, the Vietnamese Javan Rhinoceros, Quagga, and the Caspian Tiger) Some others arent' extinct but they don't have good photographs or they are not complete, they just show a part of the animal like the Indonesian Javan Rhinoceros, the Vietnam Mouse Deer, the Water Chevrotain, etc) I won't do the Dodo because I'm just working on mammals. The idea is to do them all so I don't think I'll have the time to do birds. I would love to do them too though. Thanks again for your interest. I really hope one day my posters can get into zoos, museums, and universities. Thanks as well for the link you sent me. Have a nice day!

Amur Leopard This Leopard Inhabits Cold Environments, Which Necessitates Denser And Thicker Fur, Making

Amur leopard This leopard inhabits cold environments, which necessitates denser and thicker fur, making it, in my opinion, the most beautiful of all eight subspecies of leopards. It is classified as critically endangered, and its population is estimated to be just over 100 individuals. The Amur leopard resides in Russia and China, while sadly believed to be extinct in Korea. ______________________________________ Photo Reference: Paul Bugbee Check out my Store here ______________________________________ Thank you, guys, for your support. I hope this animal likes you all. Next week another member of the cetacea order. A weird one that somehow is very well known by many. Love in the form of likes, reblogs, follows or the three is pretty much appreciated. Have a beautiful rest of the week.

Northern White Rhinoceros

Northern White Rhinoceros

Poachers reduced their population from 500 to 15 in the 1970s and 1980s. From the early 1990s through mid-2003, the population recovered to more than 32 animals. However, since mid-2003, poaching has intensified and further reduced the wild population

Since 19 March 2018, there are only two Northern White rhinos left, the females Najin and Fatu, mother and daughter, making these subspecies functionally extinct. The two females belong to the Dvůr Králové Zoo in the Czech Republic but live in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya and are protected 24/7 by armed guards.

The last male, Sudan died due to an infection in his right hind leg. He was euthanized on 19 March 2018.

Recent studies suggest that it might be a separate species from the Southern White Rhino. Studies haven’t concluded.  *References: phys.org/news/2019-08-scientists-closer-northern-white-rhino.html https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Northern_white_rhinoceros

"Today, The Last Tiger Subspecies And Probably My Favorite One: The Sumatran Tiger. While Working On

"Today, the last tiger subspecies and probably my favorite one: the Sumatran Tiger. While working on this animal, I discovered that it has several notable visual differences from other subspecies of tigers. One of the most striking is the length and density of its mane, which gives it an even more majestic appearance. Additionally, the tiger's stripes are thicker, creating a more vivid contrast in its coat.

I'm excited to share with you that I'll be releasing a poster featuring all the subspecies of tigers, including the Sumatran Tiger, very soon. Stay tuned for more updates!" Sumatran Tiger The Sumatran tiger is the smallest of all tiger subspecies and is currently listed as critically endangered with only about 400 individuals left in the wild. Unfortunately, the Javan and Bali tiger is now extinct. They were populations that belonged to this subspecies of tiger. To preserve the Sumatran tiger, numerous programs are being conducted in zoos that have shown promising results. _______________________________________________ Credits: Felids and Hyenas of the World: Wildcats, Panthers, Lynx, Pumas, Ocelots, Caracals, and Relatives.  Dr. José R. Mammals Of The World Is Back! We Are Very Excited To Start The Year With New Amazing Animals To Learn

Mammals of the World is back! We are very excited to start the year with new amazing animals to learn about. We'll try to post more often (it used to be every ten days, we are going to try every week) so we can enjoy more animals and know more about them. From the giants of the world, let us introduce you to some of the smallest: The mouse deer family, the smallest hoofed animals in the world.

Water Chevrotain

This is the only member of this family that is not found in Asia and is the biggest of all with just 35cms high. They have a good sense of smell that they use to find their favorite food: Fruits. Although this species is the only one known for also eating insects, crabs, and even scavenged meat and fish.

They are exclusively nocturnal and they are also known for being excellent swimmers and for producing distinctive noises depending on the situation they are in.

It's commonly hunted by humans and is known as the infamous bush meat. However, its numbers are somewhat stable. It hasn't been studied profoundly and not much is known about its behavior. ___________________ Thank you again for your support and we wish you a great new year! Don't forget to check out our Instagram content and have a look at our store here. Love, comments, likes, reblogs, follows, or buys will really help us. Thank you!
