How Greasy got her nickname in my Human! Au

Derek (Greaseball) was 14 Dinah was 12 and Gale (Greasy) was 3.

One time Derek and Dinah were watching Gale for the day (this was before Di came to town.) And they realized they can’t find Gale. So Derek freaks because he knows his dad will beat him if Gale is gone so they run around the whole house trying to find the toddler Gale. Until Dinah comes across Derek’s bathroom.

Dinah, trying not to laugh: Derek! Get in here!

Derek: What!?

Derek runs in

Derek: Holy shit

There Gale is on the ground, her brother’s hair grease smothered all over her face.

Dinah: She’s like you! A mini Greaseball! Just more Greasy

So this is the Wattpad summary (I can’t figure out how to make a Ao3 account)

Kathrine "Kitty" Lebeau was the cheerleader Queen of the Socs from the moment she arrived to Tulsa from Montgomery, Alabama. Darrel Curtis was the footballer greaser who always hung around socs who was on his way out of Tulsa. It's too cliché, ain't it?

Is it too cringey?

It’s taking place between the years 1959-1963, using the year that the book is set in not the musical. These years would be the years that both Kitty and Darry were in High School.

This would also tell the story of the girl Pony was talking about during the drive-in, the girl who got shot, Nancy Adderson (Randy’s older sister) and Kitty’s bff.

This is a character board I’ve made for Kitty but it’s more High School years than adult Kitty.

Y’all the saddest damn stEx Greasedinah story just popped into my head and now I have to tell yall because I can’t be crying on my own.

So y’all know how at during the downhill final Electra electrocutes Pearl by accident? Well in this AU the lighting gets accidentally get redirected and hits a spectating Dinah and the consequences are a lot more severe. This is from Rusty’s pov.

The sound of lightning crashing stopped us all in our tracks, even Greaseball stopped, and then we heard a scream and very loud scream and whoever screamed seemed to be in horrible pain. Greaseball perks up, I think he knows who screamed, “Dinah” he whispers and within a second disconnects from Pearl and speeds of the track. “Dinah’s hurt” Dustin whispers to me, we quickly exit the track, helping Pearl up on the way. The three of us pushed our way through the crowd to see a depressing scene. Dinah was lying, limp on the ground, barely conscious in Ashley’s arms with Buffy beside her, Greaseball is trying to get Ashley to give her to him, she was refusing until Memphis Belle rolled over and whispered something into Ashley’s ear. Ashley handed over Dinah’s limp body to Greaseball, “Gr..easeba..ll?” Mutters Dinah, Greaseball shushed her “it’s okay Dinah, you need to conserve your strength Di” he whispered. “Can we get a repair truck please!?” Yells Ashley, Wrench rolls forward. I can’t believe it! Electra’s own repair truck was helping somebody else out! She’s kneels next to them, putting her hand on Dinah’s head. Pearl burrows her head into my shoulder, “how is she?” Greaseball asks. Wrench shakes her head, “Electra is very powerful, a hit of electricity from him is a death sentence. I’m sorry” Wrench sighs as she stands up. “What!?” Yells Greaseball, a uproar begins, Ashley and Buffy start to cry as Belle hugs them, I can feel Pearl crying into my shoulder. The rest of the freight all look at Poppa, I guess they’re waiting to hear what Poppa say, Poppa looks down in silence. Greaseball is still yelling at Wrench saying that he’s going to kill her boss until Dinah gets his attention. “Greaseball, it’s…ok” she whispers and suddenly the hole yard went silent. “Dinah! I’m so..I’m so..S.sorry. You deserve so much better” Greaseball cries. This is shocking, not only to see Greaseball apologize but to see him cry. And suddenly I don’t see the macho man and the lovesick waitress but I see the young train who would do anything in the world to have the pretty but sassy coach to be his partner, he didn’t win until Dinah became his partner. “I’m so…I’m so h-happy” Dinah gives him a weak smile, “and why’s that, Miss America?” He smiles back at her, I guess in a attempt to keep her calm. “Because you.. you’re finally being your…yourself. K..kind and ge..gen. Gentle. No..nobody ever gets to see you like that, ex…except ma..maybe me” she musters out. Greaseball smiles down at her, “I love you, Dinah, no coach could ever replace you” he kisses her forehead. “I..I l..love you too” she tries to say another word but before she can she starts violently convulsing, we can see the electricity surging through her. This doesn’t stop Greaseball who still is holding her to his chest while she shakes like a mad woman. One last large electrical current powers through her before she stops, her body goes limp again, her lights turn off and she’s gone. Greaseball starts to cry even harder than before, “THIS IS CONTROL THIS IS-” “SHUT IT!” We all yell. The rest of the night was a somber, endless affair. Greaseball refused to let go of her, the coaches were inconsolable and Pearl refused to even look up from my arm. It wasn’t till the early hours of the next day that Poppa finally convinced Greaseball to let go of her, he would never race again saying that his drive for competition died with her.

PART 2: Freight and Coaches, HUMAN! AU

Lon “Poppa” McCoy.

He is 53 and is the Husband to Belle and father to Rusty, Flat-top and Hopper. He was the 10 reigning reigning champion in he’s mid teens to late twenties but retired after the birth of his eldest, Flat-top. Is very religious and is often preaching the importance of the Starlight Express. He is a very good man

Belle “Momma” Memphis-McCoy

She is 53 and is the wife of Poppa and is the mother of Rusty, Flat-top and hopper. Was the reigning partner champion until the birth of Flat-top. As much as she loves her family she can’t help but miss the glory days of her and Poppa. Is a bit jealous of Dinah (she sees her younger self in her).

Fredrick “Flat-top” McCoy.

He is 27, he got his nickname because he was born with a flat head and needed a helmet. Very rebellious and is a greaser, but loves his brothers and Momma (he thinks he’s gone crazy) has a pet brick, he loves his pet brick. Hopper is his favorite brother, but loves rusty too. A old friend of Derek “Greaseball” Russell and used to be apart of his gang, until he got arrested and now he spends most of his time at the scrapyard.

Dustin “Hopper” McCoy

He is 24 and is the middle son of Belle and Poppa. He’s is very shy and is insecure about his size, he is also very kind. Loves his aggregates and gets upset when people call them rocks. Loves his family and is very faithful to his father, he got his nickname because as a little kid he’d always be hopping around.

Rodney “Rocky 1” Retford

23 and is the oldest of the Rocky triplets, he and his siblings are prominent in the boxing ring and have won multiple awards. He and his siblings often hang around the McCoy’s scrapyard.

Raymond “Rocky 2” Retford

23 and the middle triplet, a world class boxer alongside his siblings, one of Rusty’s only friends. Is often seen boxing “friendly” matches with his siblings. Is often around the McCoy’s scrapyard.

Rochelle “Rocky 3” Retford

23 and the youngest and only girl triplet. Spends most of her time boxing and training (she’s the most physically strongest of the Rocky triplets). Can (and has) benched Rusty, is also often seen around the McCoy’s scrapyard.

COACHES

Buffy St. Clair

Buff is 24 and works at a buffet downtown near the disco. She is best friends with Dinah, Di, Pearl and Ashley. She and Dinah often compete for the “Best Cook” title, (Dinah has won four times in a row, but they are still besties). Loves going to the disco after work with her friends. Hates Derek (greaseball) and wants Dinah to end the engagement. Will often hide Ashley’s cigarettes from her.

Ashley Winston

She is 24 and works as a waitress in the smoking section of the buffet. A chain smoker, uses smoking to calm her nerves. Is oftentimes at the disco with her friends. Also hates Derek and wants Dinah to end their engagement, but won’t intervene in their relationship as much as Buffy.

My Starlight Express HUMAN! Au: World plus citizens. Part one

General: Racecity, USA takes the place of the train yard and it’s centered around the 50s-60s. Racecity is the home of the Racing National Championship with it’s reigning champion being from Racecity.

-Richard “Rusty” McCoy

Rusty is 23 and is from a very religious and old fashion family. He lives with his father, Poppa McCoy (A former campion.) His mother, Belle McCoy and his brothers Fredrick McCoy(Flat-top) and Dustin McCoy (Hopper.) He dreams of winning the Championship with his father’s old racing car but is often bullied by the others. He has a major crush on Pearl

-Pearl DuPont

She is 22 and new to town and is from a rich and prominent family. She is friends with Dinah, Di, Buffy and Ashley and is often seen at the disco downtown. She is sought after by a certain new-comer in the race to be his partner, despite her promise to Rusty to be his partner.

-Derek “Greaseball” Russell

He is 26 and is the reigning champion of the National Racing Championship. He is pretty arrogant and self-centered and is the fiancé of Dinah (not to be confused with Di who is his sister’s girlfriend.) For all of his faults he is supportive of his sister’s sexuality. He is the main bully of Rusty. He is extremely proud of his diesel car engine that he says is faster than lighting. Is often seen around his fiancé and his gang. Has been undefeated for 10 years

-Gale “Greasy” Russell

She is 15 and is the little sister of Greaseball and is the girlfriend to Di. She is just under the age of qualification for the Championship but plans on playing in it next year. Her legal guardian is Greaseball and lives with him. She, like her brother is arrogant and self-centered. Works at the auto shop for some extra spending money (totally not because there’s a cute waitress at the dinner next door.)

-Dinah Campbell

She is 24 and is the fiancé to Greaseball. She works at the dinner and is a manager, she is the legal guardian of her distant cousin, Di. She is very loyal to Derek and has been his partner since she was 14 and he 16 (the partner qualifying age is 14.) Will often be seen at the disco. And will hang out with her fiancé and his gang (plus Gale)

-Dinah “Di” Humphrey

Di is 14 and is the girlfriend to Gale. She is nicknamed Di so that she doesn’t get mixed up with her Legal guardian and distance cousin who is also named Dinah. She works at the dinner where she is the newest waitress, but will often sneak out to see a certain champion’s little sister at the repair shop.

-Callum Benjamin “CB” Breaker

He is 24 and works for the McCoy’s at their scrap yard. And is a literal diagnosed psychopath who has unalived in the past sooo not the most qualified person for making sure breaks work properly. He has a type of obsession with Dinah (he’s been trying to sabotage Derek’s car so he can get with her.)

- Electra Futureman

22 and a newcomer to the Championship. He has more of a 80s aesthetic and look to him. His car is electric and is lighter than air making it more faster. Wants Pearl for his partner and travels with his own entourage (the components). Extremely full of himself and is a soar loser. Hostile towards Derek and Rusty.

What do y’all think? I decided to add both Bochum GB and Dinah and Wembley GB and Dinah because I really couldn’t decide. And I used a random name generator for both GB’s human names and used the first letter of the rest of the train’s names for the rest of it. More is to come!

Next part will be the rest of the freight trains and the coaches.

Starlight express fan kid and how I think baby trains would work (I based my fan kid off of Bochum StEx because I was creating her before Wembley but ABSOLUTELY NO HATE TO WEMBLEY BECAUSE IT CHANGED MY LIFE)

Dotty the Candy Trolley

•3 years old in train years

• Campionship (Greaseball x Dinah) child

• When she grows up she’ll be a full fledged bakery coach but for now she’s just a bitty Candy Trolley

•Daddy’s girl for sure, Greaseball spoils her rotten

•will often “bake” with her mother (what I mean by that is that Dinah let’s her lick the batter off of a spoon when she’s done baking a cake)

• Greaseball is SOO protective of her it isn’t even funny. If CB is even in a 10 mile radius of her (because let’s be real who in their right mind is letting CB be around a kid) let’s just say that CB better start praying to the Starlight Express.

•poor baby is so shy (is often seen clutching either her mother or father’s leg)

•Greaseball originally wanted to name her Turbo but Dinah refused. “C’mon Dinah no boy would ever be around her with a name as cool as that” said GB, “If you think that I would ever even think of naming our daughter TURBO then you’re terribly mistaken, Greaseball!” Fought Dinah. Dinah, of course got her way and the baby was named Dotty.

•Every train thinks it’s funny to watch cool Greaseball in all of his cool leather greaser attire riding around holding a little trolley wearing a fluffy pink dresses and bows (because let’s be real Dinah would definitely dress her daughter up in all things pink and girly) but no one would dare laugh at him.

• has Dinah’s brown hair but with GB’s blonde streaks and big brown eyes

OK how I think that Dotty was made. Basically For one of Control’s Christmas gifts he was given a candy trolley for his trains and took one look and her and decided “she has the same colors as GB and Dinah so I guess she’s their baby” and then a newborn train baby just randomly appeared in Dinah’s arms one day while with GB. And at 1st they (Greaseball) freaked but the moment she started doing that baby babble thing they fell in love with her.

Might do other fan kids later (let me know what y’all think)

• Nicknames are Bird, Birdie, doll and Lady (but only Dallas call’s her Lady)

• was President of her school’s drama club until she had to drop out to help support her family after their parents died

•Great liar, the only one who can tell if she’s lying is Dally

•Secretly dated a soc (Randy) but broke up with him the night of her parents funeral

•She’s often the gang’s alibi because of her gift for lying (she’s gotten Dallas out of jail more times than she can count)

•Her and Two-bit are platonic besties (they watch Disney and Micky Mouse together a lot)

•works at the local 24 hour dinner with Sandy (before ya know, she cheated)

• fiercely protective of Ponyboy (she had to practically become his mom)

•idolizes Marilyn Monroe and Clara Bow (she loves old Hollywood)

•Smokes and will put her cigarettes in her rolled up sleeves for easy access but hates the taste of alcohol

• She’s her mom’s twin

• Has a unrealized crush on Dallas (they often flirt with one another while Silvia and Dally are broken up but Darrel often puts a stop to it)

• “My only sister Ladybird runs up to us, she’s Sodapop’s twin and pretty much the female version of him, beautiful and always positive, she has bombshell blonde hair and mom’s kind eyes, always looking at you like they’re is no one else in the world that she rather be looking at, but now her eyes are looking at me with horror. She despises the sight of blood or me being hurt, she treats me like a damn baby who is always hurt”

• Has a mom who in the nicest terms is a drunken a hole who is literally insane

• She’s short because she was oftentimes malnourished as a child and would be locked in a room with no food for days on end as punishments

• From Montgomery, Alabama but moved to Tulsa when she was 10 when her baby sister (Margaret) was found de@d in the bathtub and her mother’s reputation was ruined.

• Grew up on the soc side of town and was practically a soc for many of her teenage years but always hated how socs treated greasers

•Sews all of her own clothes and will fix the gang’s clothes as well (and she’s great at it)

• “Patiently” waiting for her mother to kick the bucket so she can sell her house (it’s a soc house so it would go for a lot) so she can help her husband out with the bills more (Darrel insists that she doesn’t need to do that for him but she doesn’t listen) it probably won’t take much longer for her to pass because of the amount of drügs she’s taking

• Works as a seamstress

• Was cheer captain back in high school and was damn good at it (her team won several national titles under her leadership and she owns several championship rings)

• Originally dated Paul Holden (that’s how she met Darry) but he was a horrible boyfriend who would often beat on her and belittle her, Darrel was the one who stood up for her and treated her like she was a person and not some doll to be tossed around, that’s one of the reasons why she fell in love with Darry

• Paul hates Darrel for “taking her away from him” when Darry literally was the only one who treated her like a person

• Darrel doesn’t know why she stayed with him (but he isn’t complaining)

• The gang’s mom

• Doesn’t smoke or drink (she has trauma from her mother burning her with cigarettes)

• Becomes her high school’s cheer coach by the end of the story (Cherry and Marcia idolize her)

• Worries about Darrel a lot (she thinks he’s over working himself too much)
