THE VILLAGE
Mano Chao - Minha Galera
I've written about this before but a little over two years ago we left America and moved to the Philippines.
It's so beautiful here.
We live in the port town of a small island, but my wife originally came from a little village deep in the mountains. It's a small village of about 200 people surroundedby coconut jungle.
I love visiting the village.
Looking down the village's main walk way during fiesta.
Close by there's an amazing waterfall we like to bath in.
Like I say, I love it here.

A new one. This time red, lavender and pink.
The pink bleeds off yellow when I rub it with alcohol. Strange. Another mystery for me to ponder.
I wake up early each morning and draw to the sounds of roosters crowing.
I draw, in solitude, drunk on colors and black coffee.
It's summertime here so the kids are on break. After everyone wakes up we go down to the beach and hang out.

Time is something that happens on the outside but not on the inside. On the inside we are always.. always.
Eternity is not something we earn.

You see Doc, I tell myself that I'm not going to draw another one, and then, I just... do it.
Red, lavender, pink and tangerine.

My art, really, arose from my doodlings during class as a boy. I mean seriously, what else are you supposed to do during those lectures. And you have a pen in your hand..
Later I doodled at work. Same game, different decade.
So here are some doodles I made at work. They were all drawn with whatever pen I was using that day on whatever paper I had in front of me.
I might have more lying around. I'll look in the closets..

I later doodled at work. Same game different time zone.
So here are some doodles. I drew these particuar doodles at work. They were drawn with whatever pen I had at the moment on whatever paper was handy.
My ever present coffee cup staring at me on my office desk.
As a side note I have many things to be thankful for and coffee is high up o the list.
"Time to save time" God help us.
I like this one.
I like some of my doodles as much as my larger pieces. I drew this one on a Japanese post card. Not really sure why I had a Japanese post card.
I'll post more doodles later.
Cheers.
MAD SEASON

Lèt me ask you something. What are you going to do in the future when every transaction we make is done on line and someone who you can't even talk to decides you can't do something?
Wondering outloud for a friend.

Coral reef

For years I worked pretty much exclusively in black and white using a black sharpie. Then one day, around 2011, I showed a bunch of my pieces to my brother who looked at them and simply said,
"Your work needs more color."
Pissed. Me. Off...
In anger I went out and bought a bunch of colored pencils and had at it.
I'm really glad he said that to me.

Do snails dream? And if snails dream, of what do they dream?
Do snails dream of wet clover and fresh lettuce?
Do adolescent snails have wet dreams and leave little snail nuts on the morning grass?
So cute.
