Okay, so, I don't know if anybody already pointed this out, so bear with me.
Let me paint you a picture of hypocricy I found in the fandom, okay?
At the start of Six of Crows Kaz Brekker leaves one of his people for dead because he betray him and the gang. He was snitching to one of the other gangs in Barrel.
And.
In the second book of TGT (second season of the show) Aleksander punishes Genya by taking her beauty away from her (scars from the Nichevo'ya) for betraying him and deserting to the other side of the conflict (joining Alina/deciding to flee).
They both serve as an examples for others to avoid doing the same mistakes. Essentially very similar actions taken for the same purpose.
Now.
There are two main difference between these two events.
The first being that one is considered as 'badass' and 'cool' and 'normal for his job' and the other one is considered as 'absolutely evil' and 'wrong' and 'twisted' and 'disgusting'. You all can probably guess which one is which.
But do you know what other difference there is?
Aleksander made sure to keep them alive, Kaz didn't.
I don't think I need to say any more.

Au where Alina lies to her friends that she's going to the desert to kill the Darkling but really she just goes there to snuggle and nap on him because she misses him so much🥰♥️
The children couldn’t understand what was happening. They were told that Daddy Darkling was bad but that couldn’t be true. He was always kind to them, told them stories while doing voices, played games with them, made shadow puppets and listened to them when they had something to say. How could Daddy Darkling be a monster like they said. Something wasn’t right and they were going to get to the bottom of it.
The kids waiting till the grown ups had gone to bed before meeting up outside by the lake.
“I never trusted that Sun Summoner, she wasn’t here that long and I thought she liked Daddy Darkling.” Said Anastasia.
“ Yeah, I saw them together and he looked so happy. I never liked Zoya either, she was always mean.” Said Vlad.
All the others agreed with them. Then the kids started to plan, obviously they had to help Daddy Darkling and what better way than capturing the traitors. They stayed up late getting everything ready.
Two Weeks Later
Honestly, this was embarrassing, they got out planned by little kids. Nikolai was both impressed and embarrassed by this. He was tied up along with Alina,Zoya,Toyla,Tamar and David. Standing all around them were the kids and Feydor.
Feydor had apparently been a spy for The Darkling this entire time. They should have seen it; his husband was on the Darkling’s side so it made sense he would be too.
“Good job little ones!” Feydor exclaimed.
“Thanks Feydor, we knew we had to do something to help Daddy Darkling,” they all proclaimed.
“ And helped me you did.” Aleksander himself said as he walked in with Ivan.
The Grand Palace had been taken over pretty easily. The Darkling now ruled it.
“This has to be the best thing I’ve ever seen, right Ivan?”
“ Definitely,” I an replied.
“ Now, what to do with you lot.”
There was much discussion where Genya convinced David to go back into his side. Which he did without question as he had always like Aleksander. Plus he’d be with Genya. Nikolai decided to see if he could make peace with Aleksander; he didn’t want to die.
The next few weeks were fast paced as Nikolai and Aleksander came to an understanding. Though Aleksander would never let him forget that he was overpowered by small children.
-just a fun little one shot

I love him so much
The fact that Aleksander's first thought on seeing Annika hold a rock to kill him was "I can protect you ". He was literally 13 and he still had so much understanding of why she felt desperate enough to do that. He never once comes to hate them, his reaction isn't "mother you were right! They are all little shits!". He's just a child here and his response to being killed so the grisha can wear his bones is to promise he'll make a safe home for them I-
Look, I understand Alina needed to learn about Morozova’s work in the name of The Plot™, but how likely is that someone as old and paranoid as the Darkling would just leave his journals lying around? Originals?
The show “fixed it” by making him give the journals to David to study. Which doesn’t change the fact they’re somehow easy to read.
If ~I~ were hundreds of y/o immortal with unique records of secret research, I’d destroy them after making a copy myself using:
cipher
foreign language
rare dialect
dead language
combiantion of everything above
But hey, it’s not like language doesn’t shift in some 500+ years… yet the greatest challenge was understanding Morozova’s train of thought… not the words alone…
