Today is International Women’s Day. And while it is a day to celebrate women and their achievements, this day started as a protest, and it’s important to remember that.
To remember why we need an IWD.
For all the women who have died because they didn’t have access to contraception, or abortion, or medical care.
For all the women who live without access to sanitary products, because they can’t afford them or they’re not available or for cultural reasons.
For the women who are raped for trying to escape war, as payment or as punishment.
For the women who are abused and told their word means nothing, their experiences mean nothing, their lives are worth less than their attackers’.
For the women who, rather than facing a pay gap, are not allowed to work at all, or to drive a car, or to own a home.
For the women who are little more than property, cattle, who cannot make their own choices or live their own lives.
For the girls who are killed before they are born, or as babies, because they had the misfortune to be born without a penis.
For the women who had their children stolen away from them, and were never given anything back.
For the women unfairly imprisoned.
For the women told they’re not woman enough to be counted a woman, for trans women who don’t fit gender stereotypes, who don’t pass, and for those who do.
The women who have a voice, white women in western countries - it’s our job to speak up for those who can’t be heard. Today is a day for protest, not for muffins and ribbons and empty promises from men in power.

Hasan singing "tum pass Aaye" added ten years to my life and cleared my skin.
Jules from Euphoria is a Faerie from the Faerie world who probably keeps a dollar under your pillow for your tooth and whispers magic for sweet dreams to people who have trouble sleeping.
so I got into grad school today with my shitty 2.8 gpa and the moral of the story is reblog those good luck posts for the love of god
Will reboot this untill my fingers hurt.
so women are supposed to grin and bear the books, the comics, the movies, the plays, the tv shows, the stories, the sci-fi, the translated ancient poems, the fucking millennia of men writing about their self inserts torturing women and it being declared as High Art by other men, we’re supposed to read it in our free time, study it in classrooms, include their styles in our own writing, accept their cultural influence as natural, watch it in the cinema, write about it, talk about it, accept it, aspire it, but men can’t tolerate three seconds of female wish fulfilment of a woman snapping the wrist of a creep without feeling personally kicked in the balls.
I want to know what test group saw the official logo and went " this is gonna hype em up".
If that happens its not good....Lisa's memory was wiped out for a good reason .Sone stuff is supposed to stay that way.
So I haven't read a lot of Jane Austen books, but from the two that I have read, Austen's female protagonists are powerful and ahead of their time. Charlotte doesn't feel like that. There is something submissive about her. She only stands up to Sidney and Lady Denham, but there has to be more to her. I hope we get to see that in S2.
Sidney Parker's character is fine tbh. He feels like a Austen man.
And obviously the ending could have been better. I guess that's what happens when you have a man behind the helms.😒
But all in all, if you like cheesy period dramas to pass time, this is good.
