Things on Glee I don’t give a shit about:
- April Rhodes - Mr. Schuester - Holly Holiday - Mr. Schuester
ANY ADULT - other than the Hudmels and maybe one good Sue moment every few episodes.
Sigh. I wish Glee would figure this out.
Other than adding Beiste to Burt, Carole, and occasionally Sue, THIS!
Okay, so the facebook thing never really took off, and I mostly just lurk on livejournal, but I can totally do the tumblr thing, right? Right! I'm done with anonymously creeping rad blogs. \o/
So I'm really disliking all the supposition I'm seeing that since Caliborn basically said that mean=nice in cherub culture, this means Calliope must be super sinister and evil. Like I'm pretty sure that being sweet and affectionate toward all her friends wasn't meant as some weird twisted cherub 'fuck you' to them or anything. Calliope immersed herself in the cultures of other species, so I'm pretty sure she has a firm understanding of the concept of being pleasant and polite towards people she cares about.
That said, wow those empty eye sockets were not something I was expecting. It's kinda interesting though, because her death as a cherub is sort of a weird special case to begin with, and like, there's still a living body somewhere out there that her soul used to inhabit. idk, I don't have any actual theories about this, but it makes me think about LE's billiard eyes and whether that affected Calliope in any way or something, I don't know where I'm going with this.
(thanks to the fair lady jenny for the quick read-over and titling assistance!)
Once upon a time, in a land far away, there was a princess who was kidnapped; snatched right off her unicorn by an evil witch, who left her trapped in a tower out of spite. This tower — as towers often are — was guarded by a dragon, a cruel, yellow beast with snapping jaws, who the townsfolk called Murphy.
The King and the Queen were desperate to see the safe return of their daughter, and offered her hand in marriage to any knight who could slay the dragon and rescue the princess from her tower prison. Knights from all over the realm flocked to the base of the tower, in the hope that they would be the one to succeed. A line of knights stretched for half a mile, all along the bridge that led to the tower and beyond, into the edges of the haunted wood that surrounded it. (Because a tower must always be surrounded by a haunted wood, of course.)
Unfortunately for those brave knights, Murphy the dragon was a nasty creature, an enemy of joy and true love who rained fire and dragonpiss on those who sought to enter the tower. One by one, the knights fell or fled, and the princess could do no more than wave from her window, shouting encouragement or condolences as needed.
Close to the end of the line, still patiently awaiting his turn, was a curly-haired knight, small of stature with eyes of hazel, clad in golden armor bedecked with enameled songbirds perched upon his shoulders. Even late in the afternoon, the day was hot and sunny, and the knight turned to the knight behind him, wiping a drop of sweat from his brow.

Agreeing with all points and also just wanted to say that Kurt accidentally pulling a Jesse St. James on Blaine has been my favourite headcanon since I started noticing the parallels.
Um, I don't really see the problem? Like, any "ZOMG KURTSIE YOU DIDN’T TELL BLAINERS FIRST" freakout would have been pretty stupid, because a) it's not as though Blaine was actually at school to run and tell, and b) Burt basically called dibs on giving Blaine the news like the second after Kurt opened his letter. XD
I also don't see why it's a problem that Kurt's question caused her to have that moment. The drama isn't even in the fact that Finn wasn't the first person she told. It's just that now that Rachel has realized that her dreams haven't gone completely down the drain, she has to figure out if accepting Finn's proposal is something she did in a moment of defeat, or an inevitable decision that she'd have eventually made regardless of the circumstance. That's... a pretty legitimate source of romantic drama and suspense, at least for Glee.
The whole Finn v/s New York thing has been presented as a conflict of interest for Rachel since the end of last season, so it looks like they're just following through on that. Kurt and Blaine on the other hand have never been shown to have any such conflict, (even despite the year of long-distance relationship they're in for) and seem pretty secure in their plans to end up in New York together, so of course it isn't presented as quite as big of a deal. (For now.)
The MJ episode ended with Kurt asking Rachel if she told Finn, or what Finn said or whatever and then Rachel had that look on her face and there was that moment of thought where she was likewait, how did i not even think of Finn do i actually love him is getting married a mistakeand blahblahblah cliffhanger ending.
PROBLEM.
Um, did we see Kurt run to tell Blaine? No. The first one he ran to was Rachel. Was there any mini freakout of “ZOMG KURTSIE YOU DIDN’T TELL BLAINERS FIRST” ? Lol, no.
So how come with Finchel it was a bigger deal?

Blaine is the first person to truly see Kurt. Every bit of him. The pain, the need, the terror, the potential for bravery.
We find out, vaguely, that Blaine went through a situation similar to Kurt. He...
