Card II - The High Priestess

The High Priestess is an inner voice. She is focused on awareness, instincts, and spiritual enlightenment. Additionally, intelligence and the sciences are under her purview. She encourages looking to the inner world for guidance in navigating life's uncertainties.

Reversed, the High Priestess warns of a lack of attention to the self. Loss of self-identity, suppression of emotions, or interference from others may lead to incorrect judgement. Mistakes are likely.

SICK from thinking about the symbolism of the rune.

Which rune Viktor gives baby Jayce is the only thing we see as a catalyst for change across timelines — it's the butterfly flapping its wings.

The rune switches hands only twice more after that:

Viktor giving it back to Jayce, representing the start of their partnership concerning Hextech,

and Jayce giving it to Viktor in the astral plane, helping him put an end to the arcane apocalypse.

But there's one more important similarity about these moments — they're moments when Viktor and Jayce save each other.

Mage Viktor saves Ximena and baby Jayce, then gives him the rune.

Viktor stops Jayce's attempt, then hands him back his bracelet.

Jayce stops Viktor from losing his humanity, taking the rune from his wrist and together, they use it to save the world.

The rune isn't just about possibilities. It's a representation of their lives.

And they only ever put it in each other's hands.

The command structure / ranking of the Justice League is actually super hard to understand from the outside, if you think about it. How many times have alien diplomatic missions arrived to meet with them, only to struggle to pick out who they should direct their communications toward? Sure, you’ve got the Kryptonian, he’s big and flashy and recognizable across sectors. But there’s an Amazonian princess standing next to him who looks dangerous and speaks like a royal. You’ve got an Atlantean king behind her, also royal, also dangerous. You’ve got a Green Lantern of the Sector with trace ion signatures from all the recent battles in nearby galaxies, and then — then — you have a man in black, shadowy armor who doesn’t introduce himself, who doesn’t speak or negotiate unless the others falter, yet ever single one of them looks to him as the conversation proceeds — checking, assuring, looking for guidance etc. is he the leader, then?

Bail Organa is waiting solo outside in the getaway speeder, giving free taxi rides for people trying to kill dictators. Anakin Skywalker has turned to the Dark Side and killed Padmé? Better adopt and raise Darth Vader's daughter with unconditional love. And after this movie is over, Bail is apparently going to go right back to work in the Imperial Senate while helping to found the Rebellion, because this superspy does not fucking blink.
