Andrew awoke to Neil moving restlessly where he lay next to Andrew in their shared bed.

“Andrew,” Neil whispered, pressing the side of his knee against Andrew’s back as he moved himself to sit up. Andrew made a noise to indicate to Neil that he was awake before pushing himself to sit up from where he lay beside Neil.

he caught a glimpse of Kevin's alarm clock from across the room. the bright green numbers showed it was just a few minutes after two.

“drive me to the court,” he whispered.

Andrew got up without a word. he grabbed his phone from their bedside table and opened the door of their bedroom slowly as to not wake up Kevin or Robin.

Neil came out of the room a few moments later, his socked feet making a barely-there rustling against the carpet. Andrew watched as he grabbed his shoes next to the front door and slipped them on.

Andrew always felt odd when arriving at the court at night with the lights off. something about the lack of fox paws and neon orange just didn't sit right.

as soon as Andrew put the car in park, Neil opened the passenger's side door and walked straight for the door to put the password in. Andrew stayed where he sat, letting the bright lights slowly dim until everything was dark again. he folded his arms across the top of the steering wheel and rested his head on top of his arms.

he was exhausted. he knew Neil was too. Neil couldn't stay still, which in turn meant that Andrew couldn't fall asleep. Neil was getting better at hiding when he was having hard days, but Andrew wasn't at the point to be able to read through his tells. he was still restless though.

the lights from the court suddenly turned on, plunging Andrew out of the darkness. he decided that now was probably a good time to follow Neil into the lounge. he unfolded his arms from on top of the steering wheel and unlocked his car door before locking up the car and walking in after Neil.

when he walked into the lounge he found Neil in the process of changing. the clothes he came in were in a pile on the floor beside him, and he was standing by his locker in clean white gym shorts. he started to pull some padding out from his locker. light padding, Andrew noted.

"don't hurt yourself," Andrew said as he walked further into the large room. Neil looked up at him in an expression Andrew couldn't describe. he just looked so frail in the quick moment, so tired.

"yes or no?" Andrew asked. Neil hesitated for a moment. he reluctantly nodded. that wasn't good enough for Andrew. "just a hug." he added.

Neil walked closer to Andrew, and Andrew met him a few steps later. he wrapped his arms around Neil, letting him slump into his chest. he ran his fingers over Neil's bareback, tracing the line of his spine and the scars on his back. he felt Neil let out a deep breath and his body finally started to relax.

"i need to run," he whispered.

"will you stay in the court?" Andrew asked. he knew Neil would. he wouldn't have asked Andrew to take him out here if he didn't intend to stay.

Neil nodded against his chest. Andrew loosened his arms to let Neil continue to get ready.

Neil looked at the padding he pulled out for a moment before neatly putting it back in his locker.

at least he knows not to push himself right now. that's good.

once Neil finished putting everything on, Andrew followed him out the doors and into the court. Neil looked back at him with mock annoyance.

"i don't need a babysitter," he stated when Andrew gave him an odd look.

"from my experience with you, you sure as hell do," Andrew responded. "get running, Josten. i have class tomorrow."

Neil looked back at him before he started his first lap with a slow jog, eventually building up to a full-speed sprint around the court.

Andrew would never tell anyone, but watching Neil run makes something in his chest stutter. he pinned it down to how focused Neil is. something about his stupid face when he's focused.

Neil ran for as long as he physically could before going back into the lounge, stripping off his gear, and taking the fastest shower of his life. he was far more relaxed when he emerged from the shower a few minutes later, his wet hair dripping onto a clean hoodie that he stole from Andrew. Andrew guessed it was because of how exhausted he was.

"let's go back," Andrew said. "you look like you're about to fall asleep."

Neil smiled at Andrew. "carry me."

"you have two legs. you can walk."

Neil rolled his eyes before reaching his hand out to Andrew. Andrew put his hand in Neil's and walked them out of the lounge and into the parking lot. he opened the passenger's door and waited for Neil to fully get in and close the door before walking around the back of his car to the driver's door. he started the car, getting a half-awake hum in return from Neil.

Neil was asleep by the time they reached Fox Tower. Andrew sighed as he opened his door and saw Neil's still sleeping face. he closed his door and went over to Neil's side before tapping on his window to ensure he was awake and opening the door himself. he reached over Neil and undid his seatbelt and took his hand to urge him to his feet. Neil grunted as he stood and leaned into Andrew's side.

"get inside before you fall asleep again," he said. "i'm not carrying you in."

when the fox kids are young they absolutely adore him and he’s everyone’s favorite out of the aunts and uncles, a fact that he is insanely smug of but drives Allison and Nicky insane and has them trying to bribe the poor children into saying “aunt Alli is my favourite” or “i love uncle Nicky the mostest” on camera

he’s literally just so fun tho and that’s why the kids can’t get enough of him, like:

he’s easy to make laugh (and boy does he have the best fucking laugh), he’ll run around with them for hours, he lets them get away with things that their parents don’t allow, he tells the best stories, etc

he frequently nearly gives both Dan and Aaron heart attacks because he’s always throwing the kids up in the air and catching them

he and Kevin will also throw the kids back and forth between them.. this is usually the point when Aaron and Dan turn around and pretend they cannot see but the kids are giggling so it’s all good

whenever he babysits and there’s an exy game on that he wants to watch he’ll make an event out of it with the kids so they stay entertained

if it was Neil, Kevin or Andrews game and they win he’ll record a video of the kids celebrating and send it to them

when any kids are brought to his games he’s always excited to give them the proper vip experience and will show them around while they’re sat on his shoulders

(his own kids are already practically considered part of the team and his teammates know to give any of his “nieces and nephews” the same treatment)

Kevin has a daughter that’s the same age as matt’s girl and they’re besties from birth (cousin friendships are the best lbr) which means a lot of playdates

which means a lot of matt/Kevin playdates

which they both appreciate because with schedules and shit the foxes sometimes go longer than they’d like without being able to see each other face to face

anyway during one of these playdates, they each have the other’s daughter sat on their laps (kevin’s daughter immediately climbed onto matt and Kevin called her a traitor to her own blood even as he scooped up matt’s kid) as they watch a movie or one of neils games or something

Kevin gets riled up by the game, squeezing or bouncing his niece accordingly with the rhythm of it and making her giggle

at one point he shouts angrily as neils opponent scores and matt looks at his niece with his mouth exaggeratedly open and says “your dad has a bad mouth” and they turn and wag their fingers at Kevin and both girls are laughing

matts energy usually crashes pretty soon after the kids’ and more than once a fox has showed up to pick up their kid and found them knocked out with matt on the couch, his arms wrapped protectively around them (unbeknownst to matt, they take pictures of him like that and send them to Dan and she fonds over every one)

sometimes he’ll sit the kids on his lap and “let them” drive around the neighborhood.. Renee and allison’s boy LOVES this

as they get older and actually start driving, he’s one of the first people they tell when they get their licenses

he teaches some of them how to drive stick.. he keeps the shitty run down manual that Dan is always begging him to get rid of specifically for this purpose

sometimes Andrew partakes in this, claiming he does so just to correct matt’s teaching techniques.. matt grins and the kids love it

once they start getting phones and shit, he keeps track of all his nieces and nephews numbers.. the kids always know they can text/call/facetime him and he’s proved time and time again that he’ll always be there because family is the most important thing in the world to matt boyd and that is exactly what they are

The best way to get shit done is to come to the library where the other Foxes rarely come (except for Aaron but they aren’t really friends yet, although not for lack of trying, they just didn’t click), so he’s safe from distractions.

But this time he can’t focus, not with the two guys a few tables to his right, talking softly amongst themselves and giggling and nervously looking Neil’s way.

It was fun to revisit this story of Andrew as a supervillain with a soft heart, Aaron as a med student with a good bedside manner, Neil and the Foxes as superheroes, and not one, but two secret relationships. Thanks for the rec! -A

He would never admit it, but his thing for Neil is becoming a serious problem. Half his schemes aren’t even real anymore, if he’s honest. They’re just excuses to see number ten.

Andrew isn’t a hardcore villain anyways, so it’s not really a big deal. As long as he robs a few banks a year, he doesn’t have to worry about keeping a job or rent, and his brother gets to continue med school.

It was a good plan until Neil fucking Josten showed up and started meeting all his standards.

Це ніколи не був любовний трикутник, як мені на декілька секунд здалося. Це був відрізок. І точка, яка йому не належить. І ніколи не буде належати. Проблема в тому, що я не спочатку зрозуміла, що це відрізок. Звичайно, у мене були підозри на цю тему, але я не хотіла бачити правди, і бачила тільки те, що вигідно було мені. Тому, я бачила окремі точки, не розуміючи, що вони з'єднані. Я розраховувала стати відрізком з однією з них, але зараз я розумію, що у мене ніколи не було на це права. Так добре скривати, що ви відрізок треба вміти. А вони вміють це на 10 з 10, ну... майже. Вміють скривати добре, але контролювати емоції - ні.

Он смотрел на неё с нескрываемой нежность, с заботой. Всегда слушал, когда она говорила. Смотря на них было видно, что он бы держал ей волосы блюй она в унитаз. Их отношения были пропитаны лёгкостью. От них веяло свободой, но она бы его точно не отпустила, как и он её. Взгляд как у щенка, который увидел хозяина говорил обо всём, что он испытывал. Её запутанность и неуверенность в своих чувствах, делали больно обоим. Так смешно подмечать каждый такой взгляд, каждый выдох пропитанный чувствами, но при этом точно знать, что ты не она. Что твоей улыбке не будут рады, как кот радовался бы вкусной сметане. Что такой взгляд будет адресован ей, но никак не тебе.

So I've been meaning to start a german diary for a while now and I did it today after seeing this post (which is, funnily enough, a screenshot of a Tumblr post, which I couldn't find).
