I’m seeing a lot of stress from Americans about AO3 being down! If that’s the case for you, gentle reader, then may I advise you to take advice against KOSA (Kids Online Safety Act)?
This act threatens to allow the government to decide what they deem “obscene content” online. Given Rupublicans’ very recent history of deeming all LGBT+ content of any type “too obscene for kids”, this can very possibly result in restricting access to any sort of queer resources and queer content online, for the sake of ‘protecting kids’. Which includes your favorite gay fanfics!

Recent seasons of hermitcraft, while still showcasing individual projects, have become more and more community-focused.
And nothing embodies that more than VintageBeef's Hermitcraft TCG project.
Because as an outsider, you hear about this and assume it's a solo project made by someone with wayyy too much time on his hands (like most hermit projects)
But if you actually watch the videos? The other hermits are scrambling to help in any way. Multiple hermits donate materials, for example Grian donating lapis blocks and Gem donating an entire monument's worth of prismarine (well, letting him borrow it). Keralis giving him wings and rockets and MASSIVELY cutting down the time it takes to make maps. Xisuma installing a plugin to let Beef add flavor text. Etho and Xb doing the first playtest. A group of hermits coming over to help with map cleanup, and Tango donating beacons. I haven't gotten to that part of his series yet but I know more people help with setting up the shop and the arenas and everything and its just
The hermitcraft TCG is a labor of love not just because it's showing Beef's love for his community but because it was aided by his community's love for him.

The path where Dylan is infected is so genuinely funny because Mr Dylan "oh fuck I'm in a horror game aren't I?" Lenivy, was sweating and side eyeing Nick while he was slowly succumbing to the werewolf cooties, hyper-aware that it was gonna happen to him too. meanwhile Ryan Kaitlyn and Abi were just like "man nicks acting kinda weird :/" and I just imagine Dylan going full sherlock mind palace over everything he's even learnt from a werewolf horror movie

Mama Kate's Ass Slapping Good Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
2 sticks (1 cup) butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 ¼ cup flour
5 handfuls of semi-sweet chocolate chips (idk the specific measurement just eyeball it)
Directions:
1. Beat the butter until its smooth, if they aren’t crying for their mommy while you’re whipping him into shape for the Jazz competition you lost 15 years ago, you’re doing it wrong.
2. Add the sugar and brown sugar, beat until you get that Jazz trophy
3. Crack the eggs in and beat after each one. You want the Chicken Mama to be screeching while doing this, it makes the cookies more flavorful. Just make sure you don’t start a Chicken Revolution™️. Lord knows we don’t need another one.
4. Add the vanilla, baking soda, and salt.
5. Slowly add the flour in, mixing every ¼ cup. Remember, good things come to those who wait. Don’t add it in all at once. Or do. If you want to become Casper’s retarded brother Richard the Asshole Ghost that is.
6. Add the handfuls of chocolate chips. Make sure to mix this by hand, if you use a mixer, you’re going to make your Grandfather think the Nazis are back and get shot in the knee. I learned that the hard way.
7. FUCK! Your dumbass forgot to preheat the oven! Pre-Heat it to 375 degrees american.
8. Scoop 12 balls of cookie dough onto a baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
9. Now make sure your fatass doesn’t eat the rest of the cookie dough while you wait for the batch in the oven to be done.
And TA-DA!! You have some tittie bouncing good cookies that’ll even make your Anti-Vax Ultra-Religious Mother named Karen go “GOD DAMN THESE ARE GOOD!"
To represent Empires Gem I feel either Diancie, with their dualtype rock fairy and crystalline cutesy design, or Delphox with their witch-like vibes as well as general cute yet fierce self
I don't really know how to best represent her other characters in smps like afterlife since the character changes every death so those two are my only suggestions :))
gem has cute lil plant critters and generally cottagecore vibes. and I think her custom trees and landscaping would be pretty and full of enough life to attract a shaymin. she deserves it bc Gem is Great :D
Sawsbuck: Deer-Druid vibes. That is all. Deerling was also considered but I decided on Sawsbuck.
Petilil: lil plant bby… dunno whether it would evolve into Hisuian Lilligant or regular Lilligant. both have good Gem vibes.
Cutiefly: as a person primarily attracted to ladies, gem is a cutie… no I did not just pick it to say that. it’s also very cottagecore and seems like it would help her out with ambience around her base.
Shaymin: she just. Landscaping and trees good. Very natural. Shaymin would feel at home around her base.
Bellossom: this is purely vibes. I might be willing to change it to a grass starter like Bulbasaur, Chikorita, or smth if someone says something, as those also have good Gem vibes.
Tropius: see above. Will definitely be swapped out if someone comes up with a better choice, I would like something to represent Empires Gem.
overall I need some things for other-server gem vibes. She seems like the kind of person who might have small, cute Pokémon like Joltik, after seeing Spider!Gem in Afterlife

As the staff post about ad-free tumblr continues to get thousands of notes telling staff to fuck off in the tags, I wanna remind you that this website's days are numbered. Tumblr is still unprofitable and by some modern-day miracle none of its acquiring companies pulled the plug on this money pit. But it will happen if it continues its trajectory.
Whether you like it or not, Tumblr needs to make money off you somehow in order to stay up. It either serves ads or asks for money to use it. This has been a paradigm on the web longer than many of you have been alive. It's Tumblr's job to make money right now because it's well past its grace period of being a black hole for cash. This has actually always been Tumblr's job, since it is a corporation, but that's capitalism for ya.
If you want Tumblr to be here for free and you want to continue to use it, you do yourself a disservice by opposing any changes Tumblr makes in order to pay for its costs. When this site finally goes belly-up then you're gonna be Tumblr-less until whatever startup takes its place and the cycle repeats itself.
If you think it should just ask for donations Wikipedia-style, remember that if and when that happens, there will be users repeating the same tired bullshit about giving Tumblr any money.
