From #SunsetPark To #Ferguson. #InSolidarity

So the first time I saw this mural I was happy to see some art in my neighborhood (that wasn’t removed by the authorities) but two nights later I found out this had been put up by the #Flatbush and Nostrand Junction #BusinessImprovementDevelopment or #BID. I have had bad experiences with #BIDs across #NYC so my thoughts are biased but damn it sucks that nobody in the Junction community (that I asked) knew that this was unfolding in our neighborhood —many of us did notice some construction work and new lam posts, but no idea of the reasons behind it. So my question is how can the unknown key players actively involved in the decision-making process of the Flatbush/Nostrand Junction BID intend to improve and ‘beautify’ my community if they haven’t even asked me or non (or very few) of my fellow neighbors what that means for us?!! -_-’ I just hope I don’t see any of the long-time businesses or tenants pushed out of their locales&homes. #rantsaboutthechangesinmycommunity (at The Junction - Flatbush/Nostrand)

YES! To me intersectionality was this plus the beauty in all the different paths and histories that continue to shape my reality and my being. All the paths my body and soul have met. The reconciliation of everything I've walked.

I just wanna say I saw this band playing last night in NYC — and what a great show they hosted!!! The positive energy and the conscious music they play makes you just wanna dance all night long, and more than anything it makes you believe in yourself. Believe that your moves are great, that regardless of what you are going through your path is blissful, that many things are possible and that we are all interconnected. Parents from the 43 missing students from Ayotzinapa have been demanding their disappeared children back, for 7months now. Masses have gathered and marched in Mexico showing support. Now the parents are in New York bringing international light to this issue. They appeared at last night at #JarabeDePalo's concert reminding the audience New York is #Ayotzinapa ! They are marching towards the United Nations right now.
