What do you think of all the other ships of Klaus and Hayley?
Klaroline: The script writers were probably high writing that. The only reason Klaus gives Caroline time of the day is for the sick pleasure of stealing Tyler's girl. Then she plays hard to get which is new for him so he is mildly amused and humors her. Though when he realizes she is stringing him along and manipulates her into having sex, he doesn't give her time of the day after. Klaus isn't apathetic so obviously he shows mild care towards someone he pursued once upon a time. And the abrupt appearance of Caroline only worsens their relationship in S5. Cause here's a question for all Klaroline fans:Who do you think Klaus is going to save when it comes down to Hayley and Caroline? Certainly not the blonde control freak who strung him along, tried to kill him, showed no gratitude for his sincerety until he was going to sacrifice his life for Hope.
Klamille: Eh it could have worked far better as a friendship and they ruined it by making it romance. Klaus had no chemistry with her, no lust or want for just appreciation for a truly good soul that she was and such people come by rarely so he made best use of her to write his Memoirs. He cared for her but then she botched her own character by becoming a vampire by doing 180 on her own nature.
If Caroline was temporary fling, then Camilie was a temporary relationship but would have done better as a lasting friend.
What other Klaus ships are there?
Klaurora? Only mentally ill and delusional people like Aurora herself genuinely ship that. She did have chemistry with Klaus but her nature was so toxic and manipulative even Klaus was disgusted. Even if she got her redemption arc early rather than in legacies Klaus wouldn’t have looked at her twice.
Klefan? Bit unrealistic considering we have no evidence of whether Klaus swings that way but it has good memes and it only became a thing cause Joseph and Paul play off of each other well when working together.
The only time I will dedicate to thinking about other ships of Klaus. ( I like doing my research before I get into things so hopefully this review is satisfactory. )
(P.S: I do remember about your fanfic request. Give me another day or two love and I will get it done.)
Rick Riordan try not to make every "strong" female character be snarky and mean and insult and be obsessively toxic and hurt other characters, especially male character challenge extreme.
Rick Riordan try not to make all male characters stupid or unable to function without their significant others only to raise the status of other female characters under a fake, fragile mask of feminism challenge impossible.
Rick Riordan try not to pair up every single character and/or force them into the Hunters of Artemis and make them aro/ace challenge extremely impossible.
Rick Riordan try to write a book without piss jokes, pedophilia, victim blaming, excusing rapists, grooming, child trafficking, weirdly suggestive manipulation (not in a good way), ABSOLUTELY NERF complex characters, incorrect representation of Greek, Roman, Norse and Egyptian mythology, incorrect representation of minorities and smaller ethnicities/POC/culture, fake feminism, LGBTQIA+ community challenge MISSION ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE.
Rick Riordan try not to nerf your own plot and timelines and your own characters only to create cash-grabs that appease all fans by creating something "fanon" and promoting bullying, stereotypes, stupidity and toxicity and forget why the hell you wrote the series in the first place CHALLENGE. ABSOLUTELY. EXTREMELY. IMPOSSIBLE.
Even if you eliminate the judo flip, it's still not the most concerning thing about the situation. She BLAMES Percy for getting KIDNAPPED AND BRAINWASHED BY A GODDESS, and fine, you would say she was super high on emotions, she didn't mean it. But then there's this:
Annabeth made Percy APOLOGIZE FOR STUFF THAT WAS COMPLETELY OUT OF HIS CONTROL. IT WAS AN ASSAULT ON HIM AND HE SHOULD APOLOGIZE??
This isn't the first time. She blames Percy in BoTL in the opening scenes for burning down the school, not even having enough trust in Percy to know he wouldn't do it. Not even after he tells her HE DIDN'T DO IT.
Also happens again in The Last Olympian. She gets angry at Percy because he is panicking over the prophecy that basically states [at that point] that he will die. SHE GETS ANGRY AT HIM AND YELLS AT HIM FOR BEING PANICKED ABOUT THE PROPHECY IN WHICH HE IS BASICALLY STATED TO DIE.
Like wtf. Why is no one pointing that out?? I swear if anyone comes along saying Annabeth was just worried so she got angry. It's like getting angry at a person for panicking before a life-threatening surgery because you couldn't handle your worry. And it's a multiple time occurrence.
Percy confided his worries in Rachel, too, and they were almost definitely dating. She didn't freak out or yell at Percy even though she was probably getting constant visions. She kept Percy company and did her best to lower his stress and get his mind off the situation.
Yet again Rachel shows more maturity and understanding than Annabeth. [Mind you Rachel was angry at Percy, if you remember he had a demigod dream where he found her throwing darts at his picture.] But never has Rachel had an outburst at Percy because she knows none of it is his fault.
Also, in BoTl, when Annabeth is basically calling Rachel a mortal like a slur and looking down on her and continuously insulting her, Rachel can tell exactly what's wrong with Annabeth, and she knows it's too stupid to even engage and Annabeth is left to being a short tempered girl yelling at someone else for no reason. Because again Rachel has more maturity than Annabeth.
I don't know why this turned into a Rachel post, but is anyone complaining?
The point is, there's an awfully long list of apologies Annabeth needs to get to, and Rick won't be doing it in this lifetime or next, so fic writers, would you like to take this one?
Finding a good blog to follow on pjo is so hard because you'll get like 10 good posts and then the 11th will have blatant abuse apologism and borderline victim blaming:
Do we really need to start reminding people that Percy had no control whatsoever over being kidnapped!? he barely knew what was happening!! He had his memories wiped!! How the fuck does he deserve to be physically assaulted?? HE WAS KIDNAPPED!!
Not to mention that like. the first time he went missing? yeah he nearly died. He would have died if Hera had not intervened and sent him to Calypso, who used her healing powers to save him. And then Percy returned to chb - returned to a building war and death sentence - as soon as he was recovered and physically able.
Hera deserved the judo flip. Not Percy. She took Percy twice. Annabeth, your anger is misdirected, please use your Athena given brains. You have them for more than one reason.
There's also rarely, if ever any, exploration of Percy's interests as opposed to Annabeth's own. Same with goals for the future. Percy doesn't want any quests, and Annabeth wants the demigod life, so they are already at odds, and it's never addressed.
Percy's interests are almost never taken in account or even brought to the conversation while Annabeth's are always a priority. In Chalice of the Gods, Percy doesn't want to go to NRU at all but Annabeth's going so he has to. You can clearly tell throughout that Percy doesn't want to go and especially not after finding out he is getting a baby sister.
The fact that he has to change what he wants because of what Annabeth wants is a sign of how terrible the situation is, especially when considering something as important as future plans. And often than not, Annabeth's narcissism shows in the process.
As for Rick, at this point, criticizing him is like preaching to the choir. He has already butchered enough as is. And we all already know it's his fault to some extent always.
You know, one thing that makes me unhappy about Percabeth in WOTTG is that Percy feels like he has to be the perfect boyfriend for Annabeth and feels pressured around her.
Because you shouldn't feel like you have to please your partner all the time. You should be able to relax and be yourself with them. If they're really your partner, they'll accept you, flaws and all. If you're with strangers at a party, uncomfortable, and they walk in, you should be able to light up and relax with them.
The way Percabeth is written, Percy would freak out and stress out even MORE about Annabeth being there because he'd want to impress her too much.
But I'm not blaming Annabeth for this-because I don't know if she knows what Percy's thinking.
Has Percy ever told her that he feels like he has to be the perfect boyfriend for her and always please her? Because if he has, and if she hasn't shot down that ridiculous notion, then it's bad writing on Rick's part-
But if Percy HASN'T told her that, then how can we blame her?
In the end, I blame Rick Riordan and his terrible writing.
But can someone please tell me if Percy ever told Annabeth about wanting to be the perfect boyfriend for her? Has he ever told her about ANY of his insecurities?
The same rules as the last poll apply. This has nothing to do with sexual intimacy or no. of romantic scenes. Which couples worked best together and had a natural understanding of one another.
Vampire diaries is Stefan's story, so it is only fitting that he should have lived to tell it and to make many more stories hence forth.
Everyone can agree that a human Damon is a hit and a complete miss. They did not even reprise his or Elena's characters in Legacies, and overall, the whole arc contributed to Damon's own self-serving needs and no one else's, not even Elena's.
I have strong feelings about Season 8 of "The Vampire Diaries," and my biggest issue is with the ending. Stefan sacrificing himself so that Damon could live simply wasn't the best conclusion. It failed to do justice to either character, undermining both of their arcs in significant ways.
Over the course of the series, we've repeatedly witnessed Stefan sacrificing for Damon. By Season 7, Stefan had grown weary of this cycle and began to prioritize his own freedom and happiness. However, his efforts were thwarted when Damon became entangled in the siren storyline, which I believe was an unnecessary and ridiculous plot arc—but that’s a discussion for another day.
Even in Season 8, Stefan’s frustration with constantly sacrificing for Damon was evident. Although Damon did exhibit some selflessness, these acts were minor in comparison to what was needed to truly redeem his character. Damon deserved a moment in the spotlight—a significant, transformative act of sacrifice that would highlight his growth.
Instead, the series ended on a repetitive note: Stefan, the perennial good brother, sacrificed himself for Damon, the ostensibly evil brother. This conclusion felt like a disservice to both characters. Damon, who had undergone substantial character development throughout the series, deserved the opportunity to make the ultimate sacrifice. This act would not only redeem him but also demonstrate to Stefan that his brother was capable of true selflessness.
Stefan deserved to witness Damon’s redemption firsthand, to see that his brother could put someone else’s happiness above his own. For Damon, dying in the end would have brought his character arc full circle, providing a poignant and meaningful conclusion to his story. It would have transformed Season 8 from a lackluster finale into a powerful and fitting end for the series.
In my opinion, if Damon had been the one to make the ultimate sacrifice, it would have added depth and significance to the final season, honoring the character development that both brothers underwent throughout the series.
And seriously, a human Damon? Nah. Damon Salvatore is a vampire, and he'll forever be the big bad vampire to me.
People usually don't like Pernico because of Nico's age, but they still like Solangelo. What is your opinion about these two ships?
Personally, I don't think it's the age difference that sets off most people.
It's the idea that the Big Three are all more closely related than others and, therefore, should have sibling relationships. So, a lot of people believe in the idea of a little three sibling relationship.
I mean, Nico wasn't even aware of any time passing in Lotus Casino, so that time gap doesn't even count. Percy is only two years older than Nico otherwise, so it's not even a significant difference.
And there's another layer to it that they believe since Percy didn't share Nico's feelings, Nico still pining after him is an injustice to Nico. (Nico stans tend to be a bit overprotective). So it is considered that Percy wouldn't properly love Nico properly if they got together, which I believe is untrue because Percy, out of all characters, loves completely and passionately always.
Sometimes, it's about the debate between the strongest demigods . Since Nico stans are believers in Nico supremacy over Percy even though canon doesn't really support that nor does Nico himself believe that, shippers think shipping him with Percy would clash and Nico supremacy won't work in Pernico.
I like Pernico in general, given the unique nature of their connections. How it's built on such mutual care and respect and a level of deeper understanding and even admiration with a ton of angst and misplaced guilt on both their parts.
It's a really interesting dynamic to work through for sure and I was quite into it initially but I really haven't seen any really good fanfics about Pernico around, so I am not really super convinced on why they would work so well so if you or anyone else has any good recommendations feel free to let me know.
(I like their dynamic together, and I think they are capable of creating a really unique connection, but I have read so many posts on big three kids sibling dynamic I kind of got swept in that).
As for Solangelo, I am not super into them, and I think their initial relationship was a bit hastily established, but they work well enough. Will however has the purely selfless nature to both accept and understand Nico's flaws and not call Nico out on it condescendingly and work through them with him without triggering any past trauma of his.
But i really believe Nico needs to process some stuff for himself before he gets into any relationship. I haven't read their book yet but will see but the fanarts of them were really awesome.
Sorry, I really haven't given much thought to either ship yet, but if you guys have some good fic recommendations or posts, feel free to send me those.
Nico, I think, doesn't really need to jump into any relationships right now, but regardless, these two would be my top ships.
Random question that popped in my head.
what if The Percy Jackson universe was Real??? Like I mean the characters, the Gods, The monsters, Everything. And do you think that Percabeth would last if they were a Real Life Couple?? Would any of the relationships last if they were Real??? Would Percy and Annabeth even like each other if they were real people??? Im genuinely curious
I think Percy and Annabeth as two people are realistically very incompatible.
1. Annabeth literally projects her mother's Poseidon hate on Percy for no absolute reason in the first book, and let's just say her behavior is nothing short of absolutely unpleasant towards Percy.
When they finally do bond, it's never because of something they have in common but because they have gone through the same set of circumstances.
2. Their whole entire relationship is completely based on trauma bonding. Their relationship is entirely based on being each other's only company through dangerous experiences.
3. Percy due to his deep self esteem issues sees Annabeth as the only person who will love him despite all his flaws and thus has this blatant misconception that no one except for Annabeth will ever love him which is a complete and utterly horrible misunderstanding and an absolute lie.
But he is so terrified of losing the one person he thinks loves him for himself that he doesn't even try to entertain other relationships even if it's to get an idea about how relationships work.
And when he finally does with Rachel, he finds himself much more relaxed, happy going, and content with her than Annabeth, and despite all that realization, Uncle Rick chose to shove Percabeth down readers' throats.
4. The purely toxic way in which Annabeth assumes some sort of ownership over Percy is truly repulsive.
And don't get me started upon how awfully toxic her response to Rachel's mere presence was both to Rachel and to Percy despite them not even dating yet or at all.
5. Not to mention Percy is a character who has extreme issues with self-esteem and yet Annabeth insists on calling him a nickname that at its core means dumb and Percy is no way dumb at all maybe oblivious but not dumb.
Percy is shown repeatedly on edge around Annabeth, and due to her controlling nature but he, in his own words, chalks it up to healthy fear. (There's no such thing as a healthy fear when it comes to your significant other)
No healthy relationship should, never I mean, never ever contain even a hint of fear. NEVER.
6. Annabeth is and has always been openly insensitive or disregarding of Percy's trauma with Gabe and even when he tries to talk about it she shuts him up by laughing at him, laughing at an ABUSE victim trying to open up.
All in all Percabeth shippers may preach what they want but Percabeth is a very toxic relationship. Because it doesn't matter how many other good moments there were it matters that there were this downright horrible moments.
7. And think on this logically. Percy and Annabeth have literally nothing in common. NOTHING. No hobbies, not aspirations in life, not their perspectives on life literally nil.
So if you are telling me two people like that are going to end up having a long, fulfilling relationship, then yeah, no, you are only fooling yourself.
In real life with actual dating they wouldn't even last six months, even that's too long.
Finally, thoughts on Percy beating Iapetus when they met? This boy managed to control the Lethe even while dying of a deadly poison and maintained that control even while tackling a Titan into it, resulting in the Titan becoming an amnesiac. And he was still injured throughout the whole fight!!
do not get me started because that is...
iconic behavior.
anyway, this is why i have such strong feelings about percy being a part of the ocean. i love love love how nico and thalia are doubtful that he can control the river lethe, and then he just. proves them wrong in the best way possible. there are just so many moments throughout pjo that leave everyone like 👁👄👁 when they see percy do some freaky impossible thing with his powers, and this scene with the big three trio is the perfect example of that.
nico and thalia are both powerful in their own right, but their powers leave them drained all the time. they can only use their abilities sparingly. percy, on the other hand, gets invigorated by water. and it’s glaringly obvious how powerful he’s become, because even other bodies of water that aren’t the ocean obey to his every command. and like, the fact that he could keep up the fight with iapetus, wash away his memories, and maintain control over the river just goes to show much more intrinsic his connection to his godly side is—unlike nico and thalia, whose powers and strengths are superficial, albeit more advanced than those of the average demigod. how percy is this way is still a mystery to me, though i do think that @posallys miss taylor knows the answer. but it’s still something so strange, for a demigod to possess so much control over their godly parent’s sphere of influence, although poseidon’s sphere of influence is one of the most primordial ones amosngt the olympians so. there’s that. it’s genuinely so cool, and i get why the gods are scared :)
If I see one more person draw a wrong parallel and go " Percy gave up immortality for Annabeth just like she gave up the chance to be a huntress....."
Those two things are so vastly greatly different that they can't be compared. They are derived from one another but they are nowhere near on the same level. Minorly enhanced physical prowess and the ability to be ageless has absolutely nothing on Godhood, unquestionably great power and the gift of immortality .
I don't understand why no one draws the parallel between Sally and Percy:
Sally Jacskon turned down the chance to be a queen, to be immortal [Poseidon would obviously grant her some semblance of immortality in order to live among Atlantis and to be unharmed] , a chance to have the literal personification of the Seas go against it's very nature of perpetuality to stop the tide for a mortal such as her, to have a God beg her to go with him? A God that she loves?
Everybody keeps saying Percy would never want immortality, but do you really not think that he must see the benefit of it? To be free from deadly quests, to exist outside the clutches of fate to a degree, to never be threatened with death ever again?
But both Percy and Sally are so uniquely good that they understand that despite all the endless power and stability this will bring, it will also rip apart their freedom? Their chance to be who they are without being dictated by another and also beacause their's a chance to do some good for the sake of the world.
Percy can only think of it that way because the woman who raised him has thought of it in the same way.
Annabeth represents all Percy's demigod life holds, so obviously, he looks at her at what she's come to represent in order to make the final choice. But Percy's answer should tell you how much thought he put into what he wanted instead, so yes to protect and better the lives of demigods was his first reason, not wanting to watch his mother or Annabeth and Grover die also played its part.
But I the biggest impact must have been that Sally Jackson, his mother, the one person Percy looks up to the most turned down immortality, and he has been aware of her reasons since he was 11. He had long a time to dwell on it himself. In the end, even Poseidon seems to see Sally's resolve in Percy. Like mother like son, and I don't think this gets enough credit as one of the main foundations of Percy's decision.
